Never in my life did I think I’d be saying that Kevin McCarthy, Bakari Sellers, and Ben Shapiro would have great on-camera chemistry. They were respectful of one another and delivered their perspectives quite well. 👏🏽 👏🏼👏🏿
The worst part of this discussion is that it's so short. Well-informed adults discussing important topics, agreeing, disagreeing, all done with respect, for the most part. We need more of this.
*@mathewjohnson3614* That's a very good idea. I agree. *Reply to:* _"On Special episodes like this, I'd like to see Overtime increased to 20 minutes. This was the best part of the night!"_
@@KGarnhe at least stands for not sending money to Ukrainian Nazi’s in the Azov battalion. Do you like American tax payers paying for Ukrainian Nazi’s.
Though this is probably the hardest thing that I could say but you need to look at roosevelt who played getting into the war because He didn't think it was his problem and then he turned Jewish people away that wanted to seek asylum in America that died in the holocaust.Roosevelt was very racist. We've had several anti semic presidents in our country.I am a historian , My background passion is in history in our country and how we have grown past some very horrific things that our country has done in the name of either party and and I think we should have democrats and republicans and I love your forum but it's hard to hear that our party is doing something badly. It's good one we can say that we need to be better. And yes, we need to be better. The Democratic Party needs to give the democrats someone to vote for besides this cackling, hen, that has an I.Q of ninety
I wish Bill's audience never clapped for anything ever. They can laugh of course but clapping is optional and takes so much time away from the professionals speaking and the show is way too short already!
I agree but it's too bad Bill didn't get to finish his comments about the difference between supporting a country and its citizens and the leadership. *One can support the Palestinian people but that doesn't make you pro-Hamas. *One can support the people of Israel and be anti-Netanyahu. *One can support the people of Iran and 100% not support the ayatollah's. In each of these cases it's the leadership that causes the problems, the wars and the genocide. It will be the same in the United States. Vote accordingly.
It's because they're not in office. Republicans must be inflammatory when in office. That's the rule they teach all candidates. It's fake anger to get donor money and votes
I wouldn't go that far LOL but this was easily one of the best episodes in at least 2 years. This is reminiscent of classic Politically Incorrect/Real Time debates
Not with that democRAT cheerleader who has nothing REAL to say. He's just a hack who used identity politics for his side to win. Utter failure at politics.
Well, it’s awesome to see you guys going back-and-forth disagreeing but all getting along and laughing. That’s the way it should be in our country. I’m so sick of oh I can’t have a conservative on. I can’t have a democrat on because my base will get upset. That shit needs to end because we’re all Americans and we need to talk it out.
@@dontcomply3976 What lowered the tone was calling anti-genocide protesters pro-hamas. So people can't defend innocent children being murdered without being called an anti-semite and a hamas supporter? haha child please... This was a borderline circle jerk.
THIS is how you have a respectful discourse with one another when you disagree on certain issues. This was really well done by all four. PROPS, gentlemen!
If you only watch Fox News and Piers Morgan I could see how you'd come to that conclusion. Meanwhile, 93 year old Keith Rupert Murdoch, is playing out the 5th season of Succession literally. He does have a new hot young wife, age 67, though.
Why because someone of his own party tried to assignâtes him..".? This makes him a hero or makes him a better more qualified runner? I remember when Reagan ran and so many of us voted the Movie Star, I was young and naive even thinking he’s from our state so yeah I was young back then. Turns out he ruined our country because he was easily bought. Trumps being used because he is so profoundly dumb and gullible he thinks it’s about him.
@@pinchebruha405 sounds like your regurgitating some BS rhetoric you read online. Try simplifying vs complicating things. Trump almost died at the hands of someone who despised him. He rose up in strength and love for this country and that is more clear than anything you're spewing.
Agreed - it puts the panelists in a position where they’re feeling they have to compete for the audience’s applause [aka affirmation]…instead of connecting with their opposing panelists. It’s an unfair playing ground for thoughtful discourse. Despite this, the panelists did a great job trying to overcome this and were able to give each other time to make their respective points.
In the comedy world we call that clapter. It's not a laugh but a positive response. It's also usually achieved with very cheaply by saying something very obvious. Who here's driving tonight? Wooooo!
@MrBreese13 I honest to God believe you're either a troll or a bot. It's not that I don't agree with you, but you have made this comment on quite literally EVERY Bill Maher video for literal years now, man. It is honestly impressive to me that you've dedicated the last few years of your life to informing the public that the live studio audience will actually laugh sometimes. 20$ says you won't reply because you're a bot, dude.
Please please please! Bring back this panel on a regular basis. It was so good. ❤ They all did amazing. It felt like no one was being paid to push anything and they spoke freely. This needs to be the normal. Very refreshing. I would never miss this.
I have mad respect for people like Maher and Shapiro, because regardless of their personal political stances they can always engage each other with such a high amount of respect towards the other. This is what America needs to get back to, good sportsmanship!
@@Shotzno but were you taught the principles of debating? Were you taught that a debate is not about slandering or defaming your opponent? Were you taught that the objective of a debate is not to win it by defeating your opponent?
The McLaughlin group during the 80s & 90s was a great show. Real political analysts from the left and right respectfully debating the issues of the day. This panel was fantastic imho. Bill should do this round table every week. great show. Also, new rules have been on fire this season.
@@coryjack606 I don't get it. In the last 35 years Dems oversaw 97% of all net jobs added, with commensurate GDP growth, and the cvil dividend that comes with it. Republicans have nearly four decades of abysmal governance. Why are they popular?
Lose the anti-semitic douche Bakari Sellers and replace him with at a competent BIden surrogate otherwise Shapiro & McCarthy will continue to own the panel.
I hope he has them on Club Random. I felt like they were both articulate and respectful. Too many times these shows devolve into hurt feelings and brash aggression. You can tell by the response in these comments that this type of discussion is what we crave.
This was the best panel I've seen on RT recently. Shapiro, Sellers, and Maher were able to have a heated discussion while still being respectful and allowing each other to express their ideas. Kudos to these gentleman for being so classy during their discourse.
I disagree with the vast majority of what Bill Maher believes, but I totally respect him for having these important discussions with individuals from all sides. We need more of this.
yeah, but I don't think Shapiro and McCarthey are exactly good representatives for conservatives, not that there are many who would be, given MAGA rule.
Nobody on this panel is a progressive. You have two center right neo-libs, one far right conservative politician, and one far right wing bigot grifter. So drop the "different sides" bullcrap.
Man, what an episode and what an overtime. People with opposing view points speaking to each other respectfully and keeping it lighthearted. This is why this show still gets my attention
Yeah when it came to Israel they were just 4 hard-liner zionists. "Oct 7th! Oct 7th! Oct 7th!" no consideration for the estimated 100's of thousands of dead Palestinians.
I was watching this last night thinking, damn I'm really dumb!hahahaha and Ben talks SOOOO fast with his wealth of knowledge, it becomes mind boggling! But a truly awesome conversation!
@@pcbro2 you are delusional. I’ve been watching Ben for over 10 years and he doesn’t spew hatred? You sound like you’re just giving a biased characterization of somebody you don’t like
@@pcbro2 yeah he doesn’t but nice try. You’re just giving a biased characterization of somebody you don’t like. Ben doesn’t ever spew hatred of any sort. You just sound like an angry little person.
@@girle5584having one scientist who believes in climate change and one scientist who doesn’t on a panel would be a gross misrepresentation of the debate about climate science though. The overwhelming majority of scientists support the evidence that Climate change is real and is being ramped up by man made activities. The only way to have a fair debate about this issue would be to have a panel of 97 scientists against 3 climate denying scientists.
@@miniman2132 Yup, and it's more like 99 to 1. And the 1 climate denier is not actually a denier, these are scientists who have doubts about some studies. They are not bringing facts opposing climat change to the table, they have none. If they did their own studies, they probably would find a vast amount of evidence supporting human caused climate change.
@@miniman2132 There are times in history where the majority of scientists believed the sun revolved around an earth that was flat. The belief that the universe was static was a majority opinion well into the 1900's. Don't forget all the great scientists that gave us the food pyramid. These are all examples of fitting science into preconceived notions. Every single solution to climate change involves the ceding of individual rights to a government authority and history shows us how that turns out.
There was no discourse. Lefties were throwing out feelings while being presented with facts. They would ignore the facts then throw out more ignorance because of how they felt. Reality doesnt matter to them.
And this, kids, is what substantive & respectful arguments look like. You see, they’re not myths! What a treat. If only all political discourse could be done in such good faith.
Watched whole episode on HBO and there were some very tense moments during their debate, but overall very professional and still respectful. Too bad our presidential debates are not like this anymore…
Joe prepared for a debate and when trump refused to answer the questions while spewing non-sequiter lies put Biden in shock. It was no debate and the moderators let the lies fly.
@@AjaxDGonzo the last presidential debate was a step in the right direction? in my 40 years it was the most embarrassing presidential debate i have ever seen.

ECACTLY!!! 4 man who are having a civil conversation, disagreeing, but laughing at one another and also, at the end of the day a few of them are actually friends. This is how it should be. We are never going to agree on everything, but we should at least be civil about it
Well done mr. Maher for this four panel discussion. This could have gone 2 hours and would have still been irresistibly compelling from beginning to end
@@giantsr1eva Empathy. I used to work at a company with a lot of folks not born in the United States. One lady said "I have to go to work and pay my taxes no matter who is President". Another guy, who had been here 30 years and never become a U.S. citizen. He could not (legally) vote. His response: "Who cares? They're all crooks anyway".
Maher is being pragmatic. Liberals don't watch or listen to political discussion in large enough numbers to keep the lights on. Conservatives have been a mainstay of Bill's audience for years. However, with the boom in podcasting, they have a buffet of options. He needed more voices on the right to bring back those that were deserting him.
@@ohyeaaaa1 On his old show, he certainly did have plenty from the right. Even early on, on Real Time, he served the right, not as much, but still. Over the last 5 to 8 years, he's moved harder to the left. He has stopped having Dennis Prager, Larry Elder, Dennis Miller, Steven Crowder, Adam Corolla and you won't see a Thomas Sowell sighting. He'll have Greg Guttfeld on Club Randon, but not Real Time. Same with Candace Owens and Patrick Bet David. He'll sell a book on Megyn Kelly, but not have her on Real Time. He'll have Stephen A. Smith on and never mention Jason Whitlock or have him on. And you won't see Matt Walsh, Victor Davis Hanson or Pearl Davis on. Now, every person I named would be HUGE ratings and go super viral. But, they'd also wipe the floor with his liberal guests. Case in point, Ben Shapiro. But, don't you worry, a Friday show is in the works as we speak that will invite everyone of the people I just mentioned.
Ben was respectful and had the best ‘drop mic’ moment. I could listen to these four for a long long time and I appreciate their humor, back and forth, and honest communication. ❤❤
This is the robust debate we need! I just made an 80th birthday dinner for dear friends. One a Vietnam war veteran. We need to listen to the people who have experienced the results of decisions!
I enjoyed the diversity of opinion this time, and the fact that for the most part they engaged with each other fairly and politely, not attacking each other. That kind of proper debating is so rare in media these days, so this was actually a delight to watch!
Bravo, Bill. You brought these great minds together and each of them carried the conversation with respect. We need and deserve this type of discourse.
This was super entertaining. Funny and intelligent. 🖤 PS: This is also the America I love. Where were can come together and fight it out. Without "hate".
