This video was made for the Element Optics RU-vid channel and was never intended to go on this channel, but I’ve had quite a few requests to upload it here too. I will probably do my own “review” on this channel going i to greater depth, with scopecam footage and tracking tests so you can come to your own conclusions😄 Please subscribe to the Element Channel (link in video description) if you’d like to see more of these! Matt
Looks like a quality scope. I noticed the one on the rifle has a longer front end that the one you held in your hand, does it come in two separate lengths or is there a detachable front end? Did you also get around to doing your own review yet?
I've followed your reviews of scopes and your likes and dislikes for scopes on the market, and have to agree with many of your points. It's only natural that you help develop one when the industry is stagnated in old tired designs.
If you're really utilizing the benefits of that scope I think you have time to take off the soft cover, likely blocks dust better than flip ups. Just my opinion, happy shooting bud.
I just recieved my Nexus last week. With the dirty MOA reticle. Haven't had a chance to shoot yet, but just looking through the glass at the field in my backyard, I can see that the optics are second to none. Amazing clarity. $1500 well spent! =)
I don’t own a gun but enjoy your channel pretty much. Congrats on your new adventure with Element Optics and best wishes. By the way, because of you I know I will go into the sport with Fx Impact and Element.
Just bought the clean MOA Nexus for my daystate redwolf and man, absolutely gorgeous glass guys. The reticle is about brilliant!!! Thank you for your tireless passion and dedication. Now if only you can get the FX’s to throw slugs like the Lothar Walther in this redwolf, WOW, the .216” knockouts and redesigned, Very Very Impressive!!!! I know you guys won’t rest easy until you figure it out !!!!
Looks like a fantastic product, well done Matt and Ted. I am sure as people get to know the product better there will be fewer negative posts. Being a South African I understand and appreciate that all your reviews are honest and unbiased, much appreciated thank you.
I have high hopes for this entire line of scopes. In my opinion glass is king.. If its clear and works well in its price range, Ill buy it, if it doesn't stand up to the rest...I doubt many will fork out their hard earned money...So if its what you say it is, you have a WINNER!!! I would love to see someone knock the big boys off their pedestal..Best of luck to all of you involved..
Small magnification 5-20, 30mm main tube, and 50mm objective are a bunch of good reasons why this should be a $1,000 scope. It won’t take on as much light or have much elevation. Athlon Ares ETR or Tract Toric would be better at the 1k to $1200 price range imo.
A Great Video, I've just treated myself to a new HW 100 + the Helix & have set it up with the help of the excelent Vidios Thank you looking forward to useing it this weekend. Cheers Tippo. UK. GB.
Always liked your videos. I am glad someone with passion is designing something for hunters. I always see quality go down when bean counters get involved.
For all those sceptics. Matt does have a vested interest. But imagine his reputation if his brand is rubbish. I appreciate him developing a product for shooters. Also he is not hiding the fact. I would love to try one because it was a shooter that developed it. It has all features I personally like. Don't bag a man who is passionate and creative. Good on him if he makes a buck. As long as it performed and your happy. Good products are ruined by people that crazy opinion and are not willing be adventurous. Good job Matt. I hope this scope finds a Australian dealer.
Can you send one over to Richard at sharp shooting uk? If he says good things about it they will fly off the shelf! Good luck with the Optics range, you've certainly thought of what shooters want. I love the idea of a clean ret and the other 'Christmas tree' ret, makes for a great choice
Beautiful. Nice choices on the design tradeoffs. But I would suggest thinking about offering an option for a capped windage turret. Most hunters I know here (Rocky Mountains, USA) don't try to dial for wind since our winds are so gusty and variable and they prefer a capped windage turret in the field. Best of luck with the venture.
Hi Matt. You persuaded me. I bought an Element Nexus in October 2020 here in the U.K. It is a champ! I married it to my heavy barrel 6.5PRC and it is a brilliant marriage. Well...it was. I dropped the rifle and it landed on the scope's elevation turret this morning and the spindle is self-evidently bent. It does not achieve a full rotation without binding. I am gutted. Fixable?
It’s a wise decision to go for a 4x mag range....even with top-glass (Zeiss, S&B, Swarovski, Meopta, some Leica’s) it’s a given that the scopes that limit themselves to a 4x mag range have by far the best light-transmission. The Zeiss Victory V8 (2,8-20x56) gets >92% while the Victory HT (3-12x56) delivers >95%. And there’s a similar difference between a S&B PMII High Power (3-27x56) with >90% and the S&B PMII Ultra Bright (3-12x54 or 4-16x56) that goes to 96%. As for this ELEMENT-scope, a 5-20x50 with a 30mm tube and a rather short length, in this price-range, that delivers 91% transmission, with sufficient internal adjustment range and solid, reliable tracking ...it’s a bit of an ask, really. But, Delta Optical (also with top Japanese glass) has proven that miracles exist...maybe Element Optics can do the same. Can’t wait to verify... PS You mentioned that the scope has Japanese glass, does that also mean it is assembled/made in Japan? Or is it Japanese glass, assembled in China, Philippines...?
Hey, love your channel and you get me get me into air rifle a couple of years ago. I was actually looking for a new scope on my .223 rem. I think I just found it !
Does the lifetime Warrentee cover accidental damage for instance if I tripped in the field I know Vortex have a great Warranty and Bushnell I’m tempted in the Element Titan but may go with the Nexus which one would work best on a 17 HMR.
Thanks for an awesome video and for the information regarding the Element Nexus 5-20X50 Scope. At $1,499.99 @ Pyramyd Air and Airgun Depot, that's too rich for my blood. Not me being on a fixed income. I believe my Air Rifle collection comes up to that amount. Anyway that's a nice scope, with many good features for those who are able to afford it.
Got mine roughly 3 weeks ago, I got the illuminated center cross MOA D version. Optically very clear and I do like the weight, but I’m still unsure about the illumination. With illumination turned to 7 or above, the entire reticle lights up - not just the center cross, and it’s also uneven. The whole right side of the reticle (all dots and Lines) lights up brightly, while the left is dim to black. Anyone else seeing this?
Can you email us with pictures please? It is quite normal for this to happen at the brightest settings as it is impossible to keep the light from leaking into the non-illuminated sections at the highest brightness settings. And the Nexus is particularly bright at 7+, possibly too bright. When looking through an Athlon, for example you won’t see this as the max brightness is still quite dim, but a Nightforce on its brightest shows leaks quite badly. In the future we will probably illuminate the whole reticle to prevent this from happening. If you believe the scope is faulty though, please send it in and we’ll take a proper look at it!😄
AirArmsHuntingSA It’s tough to get good photos because I don’t have a scope camera and it doesn’t show up well with my camera phone. Actually, I’d prefer to have the whole reticle illuminated but that wasn’t an option on the MOA version, only the milrad version had the central axis illuminated (I don’t know why the difference). I know it’s not a big deal to most shooters, but at nearly 60 years old my eyes aren’t what they used to be and I do use the illumination more than most. It’s bothersome to me that the illumination is quite uneven, from very bright on the right side of the Christmas tree to nearly non existent on the left. RAZ
I love the idea of 10 mil per rev, that beats the 5 per rev of the ffp vortex scope i am currently using. I'm not not quite sold on the recital yet until I get a chance to shoot with one. I love all the vertical mills of hold, but I am not sure how fast I could count and grab the one I might need for shooting squirrels that don't stand still for too long. Matt and Ted we wish you the best of luck, You both have done a lot for the AG community, and I am sure you put a ton of thought into your scope. Let us know if we can be of any help. Roger
Hi Mat. Do you have any supplier in Ireland 🇮🇪. I shoot .22lr PRS style competition as well as centrefire PRS. I think Thai scope would be worth a look
GREAT CHANNEL MATT. WHERE IN SOUTH AFRICA CAN WE PURCHASE ELEMENT OPTICS. ....WHICH COMPANY IN AMERICA WILL SHIP A NEXUS AND FX MARK 2 .22 700mm WITH EXTRAS.(ACCU TAC BIPOD,ADJUSTABLE CHEEK PIECE ET.C.).
Buy a Sightron S-TAC 4-20 MOA2 job done and save a shed load of cash, without all the marketing nonsense and RU-vidrs push, it’s ok having a good product , but it has to be viable , not saying the Elements Optics is not a good product , but the Sightron S-TAC is the standard to beat at the price point it’s offered at ..
Matt, I really hope you do well with this scope line. I was just wondering about Ted, we haven't seen anything from him in months. Is he going to be promoting the scopes also and will he be making any more videos? We all want to know. Thanks.
Hello there, I want to know about mechanical zero of rifle scop..we should to do it before putting on rifle? . And how to do it ? Please explain. Thanks
I wish I could find your scope in our Bangladeshi market. I am a huge fan of your hunting videos and I will love to support you and your product. I have an FX Royal 500 waiting to buy the newer impact with power plenum which is coming to the market soon N wish to mount the nexus. Is there anyway I can bring in the nexus to Bangladesh? During the covid times?
This is the scope I hate most. Much is promised! It's beautiful in many ways but compared to the others in my collection it sits on my least used gun. On the first and replacement version the parallax ring is grinding audibly and is stiff. The overly aggressive teeth on the ring makes it uncomfortable to use. This scope will always look brand new!
Hi matt are these scopes being sold in the uk? I think it's a great product but I would only buy from a uk distributor because a lifetime warranty would be no good if it had to be sent abroad for any repair thanks for your time lee
Yes they are being sold in the UK. They are available from Sportsman Gun Centre and Braces of Bristol. However warranty work can’t necessarily be done by local dealers because it requires special training and equipment, the scope may have to be put on a collimator and tested which would require it being sent to Sweden or the US. If the fault is clear though, we could probably organize for the dealer to replace the scope right there and then.
@@AirArmsHuntingSA thanks matt will check that out I should of known sportsman gun centre would do them they are main dealer for fx got my impact through them many thanks lee
First off Matt thank you. You and ted have introduced me to pcp airguns. I shoot some. I’m excited to plug my pellets into the StrelokPro. I was gonna run a swfa on my new pcp. But since u and ted were demonetized. I’m gonna buy an element scope. Are they made by Optisan? Who else do they build for?
Hi Mike - Thank you, I am honoured to hear that I helped get you addicted! The scopes are not made by Optisan, they are made in a different factory that makes scopes for some of the top US-based scope companies, although I can’t mention them by name:)
Price in rands please Matt. I am currently looking for a new scope and switching brands. Wont mention brand but with this one scope I was continually losing my zero. So one day I made my own hash mark on zero( this scope didn't have one) Then on the next range trip after shooting app. 50 rounds when I dialled back to zero from shooting longer ranges my hash mark was 4 clicks into elevation. This explains why I always lost zero. This brand also has a lifetime warranty so lets see if they swop it out
Hi Matt, I really hope this message reaches you. And i trust you are still coping well and healthy during our lockdown. I am a big fan of your videos and linked channels on RU-vid, I bought my Air Arms S410 Classic a few years back due to being inspired by your and Gerhard's passion for the sport. I'm currently residing in Centrurion, Gauteng. As an passionate outdoorsman and sharing a love of the sport, I was hoping you can point me in the right direction for purchasing an FX Impact MKII with one of your new Element Scopes. My budget is around R35k, not sure if that's too low but i would appreciate some guidance from you. I know you're very busy, so please only reply if you have a chance to do so. Take Care, Derrick de Villiers.
Hi Derrick! Yes I am healthy😄 For that price you will definitely need to look for second hand. Impacts can be anything between 36k-42k new, and I wouldn’t put a scope on it that’s less than R8000 new.
@@AirArmsHuntingSA That's good to hear Matt, thank you for the reply. I can increase my budget for the Gun, and buy the scope later. I would prefer to buy it new. Whom will be the supplier I can contact to find out more? Take Care, and thanks for all the Videos and Info.
I see one feature missing. Where is the memory card slot to record your hunting videos??? LOL only kidding. No doubt the price is high enough I will never own one. Beautiful scope though. Very nice.
I’ve heard several things, and yeah..I’m a YEAR late, almost. I keep seeing comments about “AIRGUNS”. Is THIS an optic DESIGNED FOR airguns? And yes, I SEE that it’s mounted on what looks to be a ‘typical’ rifle AND he did state “it was designed for .50 BMG”. Ok, really? Are these just “SALES talking points?” I like what I see ie, reticles (Both styles available) all the way to the zero stop/reset, the apparent rigid, audible and stout turrets, etc. Research is in order I suppose. ONE LAST OBVIOUS QUESTION: Are these MADE IN CHINA?! Even put together IN China? I know the GLASS is Japanese..at least that’s what was said.
