Not really waterproof, but very few if any taps are. If you're tapping a line in a motorcycle, chances are it's underneath a body part anyway. Think about it, very few if any wires and connections on cars and motorcycles are waterproof.
What I'm not seeing is how those locks hold the wire in place. If you're just slipping it through the open hole in the cap, how are wires being held there? They clearly work, but I can't figure out how.

This is all great but what you're not explaining or showing is how the wire is held in place in the bottom. You just stick in through the hole and then what? what's securing the wire?
