We already pass another "golden age" of gaming. While there are still good games, triple A gaming is on downward slope now

@@hafirenggayuda yeah right. The most fun i had in recent years was with AA games like greedfall or terminator resistance(and of course an occasional nintendo title).

I wish I had realized, while living through the 90s and 00s, that I was in a golden age of gaming. Actually, no, because I would have spent even more time playing them.

They were originally planning to expand, hence the sequel. If you look at their 2021 presentation they showed a lot of promising stuff... But years of neglect and a dying and disappointed fanbase (plus the sexpest elephant in the room) forced their hand to give us the 'most rewarding' OW experience ever, but they actually took more stuff away than they added. I would have loved to see their original vision for the sequel (which I say is still a glorified expansion that players of the first game were owed) but I guess the first game is dead and we're stuck with this glorified update instead.

I remember some fans got angry at Blizzard for moving the plot forward. I forgot the exact words but it was basically "wahh you're ruining my fan theories and shipping by creating new official lore" so Blizzard kind of stopped.

I mean look what Edgerunners did to Cyberpunks reputation. People could probably come around to Blizzard if they made a good enough Anime/show

"It's story"...... there is no storybat all in the game. What is the explanation for these heroes and villains fighting with and against eachkther and themselves? Not to mention the respawning.

Yes, and it’s not done yet. They are still working on the game that was originally announced as OW2. They changed directions less than 2 years ago to get this PVP revamp to market ASAP instead. The full OW2 will be out in the next year or two.

Yeah, it's an insanely fun game and I have no temptation to spend any money on it whatsoever. Big W for me, the funny part is the people complaining loudest are the ones paying for me to play.

@@mikez4388 It won't. The PvE is the actual sequel to Overwatch (this is just the coinciding multiplayer update) so it'll have a AAA price

@@thatgwenpoolguy5409 Make sense. It would make more sense to release both the PVE and PVP. Sure, it would release until 2023, but it would be alot more cohesive, instead of getting one half of a game that's relatively the same

I think there WERE a lot of changes and planning that they did in these 2 yrs, but, for some reason, it's no where to be found? Some got through, but portion of it. And I think they also kept on listening to the wrong commenters/bad feedbacks that some of the changes made it bad.. .. in my opinion, the fact that it REALLY looks like they've done close to nothing or implement some huge changes, I think it would've been understandable if they introduced a whole different game... At least you can see and feel like they've done "something" XD

all of this stuff should take a backseat to the way the ruined tanks and dps characters. they ruined a bunch of characters and made shitty characters like sombra even better.

@@mattmaas5790 bro you’re tripping, almost every character feels better to play in this game. Other then doomfist, they completely murdered him, but he was my least favorite character and always felt very anti fun to me so I’m glad they changed him, albeit all his mains probably hate it

@@declanmcsherry9368 they did ruin doomfist, but they even ruined some characters that didn't get changed much just by making certain characters REALLY good, some characters just get clowned on no matter what. Also super tanks are overpowered. Almost all of them are better DPS than the actual DPS.

to be fair, anyone who would accept a diversity hire position and purposefully subject themselves to work in an environment where its 100% men who don't want to step out into the sun and spend all day staring at a computer screen creating illusionary worlds to get away from the real one, is asking for it. Even if it wasn't nerdy programmers, take any environment of say, just 10 men, working, and they'll get along fine, they'll be productive, and create a quality product. Throw one woman in there and all of a sudden all hell breaks loose as the hierarchy changes from one of company deadlines to a deadline of who gets to bang her first. Anyone can sit there and argue over how ridiculous they think it sounds, but, it's just the reality of life everywhere and in almost all species on the planet.

Personally, I liked all the changes. The tank is actually tanky. The TTK is way higher. Less shields. Less CC abilities. Ultimates are less important and not "press to win" anymore. Enough changes to merit the "2" without alienating the core audience. The only thing that I didn't like is the battle pass. They took away the gambling aspect of it and turned it into something that is sure, but way more expensive and time consuming. Horrible launch, but the gameplay is solid. I wished they launched it along side the pve. I guess they needed the money already

@@firzt0 I agree with almost everything you said, but honestly I’m happy they launched it now, if I had to go another(who knows how many) months playing overwatch 1 before the pve was ready I think I would’ve given up. The game was on its last legs and I feel like it was the right decision to release pvp as soon as it was done.

I personally disagree. The great thing about two tanks was, well two tanks. You could bring one to flank, and one to help you defend the main push, which helped mobility, and gave more reason to use flank routes and the like. I've found that with one tank, it's now much harder to push out of spawn, and it's become a bit more steamrolly. Who knows, they might fix it with a patch, but I feel super underwhelmed. I feel like instead of buffing characters, they made all the good ones go down by a tier, and while it's balanced, it makes all the characters play slower and more sluggish. Also, it allowed for more player independence. Overwatch requires a lot of teamwork to be effective, something very hard to do with strangers, so a bit of independence helped. I feel like if there were still two tanks, having a tank Doomfist wouldn't suck as much, because he could still have another tank to actually tank. I feel more forced than ever to play as a shielder tank, like Rein, which kinda sucks cause I used to main Roadhog.

@@firzt0 I don't think it does quite enough to deserve the sequel qualification. With the PvE? Maybe. But as it stands, it feels like I'm playing the same game. I mean, at least give us more new maps. Who knows though, I could just be looking at overwatch one with rose-tinted glasses.

@@DeepFriedFrenz112 it plays totally different to me. Big enough change to be called a sequel imo. You 100% need to change your playstyle on ow2. Definitely a bigger change than other games (like lets say counter strike 1.x to csgo). There's only so much you can change before it's not overwatch anymore. I really don't get that criticsm. It so subjective, nobody agrees what qualifies as a sequel, and i hate it

StarCraft 2 came out after Diablo 2. By like a decade. And I think Diablo 3 had a lot of problems at launch.

It did something farily new/rare and that with the typical Blizzard polish, there simply was/is no game like OW not even Team Fortress.

It's genuinely a fun game, if you look past the hate boner people have for blizzard

OK, you’re right, you played a different game long ago and had a bad time, therefore you can summarily dismiss a new game that you’ve probably never played and that Matt/Shelby played less than 10 hours right at launch.

That’s not at all what happened. The plans for OW2 were large and long and they had to change less than 2 years ago. What has been released so far is only a part of the full plan.
