I really love the dynamic between torbjörn and bastion it’s like father and son, he even refers to bastion as a HE and not IT unlike everyone else

I love they continue the story of Reinhardt literally having PTSD of the war, seeing bastion, remembering all the people they killed, including his leader Balderich, and despising Bastion for it is amazing storytelling, now he can get have closure from the past

As a Zen main, that last cutscene was so beautiful. I can’t wait to see what they do with Zen in future story missions 😊

from the clip it seems that the assassination of Mondatta by Widowmaker was to create a fuss between omnic and mankind, sowing chaos and conflict between the sides, which might have made Ramattra realize that mankind cannot be reaches with harmony and decided to end them. Doomfist offers him a way to help, thus making another step into his plan towards making humanity stronger through chaos. I think Doomfist is much more of a mastermind than we think, he could have created many of the scenarios that led to special talon units into being recruited.

I believe Talon sent forces to capture Zenyatta as leverage against Null Sector because they no longer have control over Ramattra. Ramattra pillaged Talon's resources and likely betrayed Doomfist because he knew Talon was made up of the worst of humankind. Also, Rammatra likely learned Talon killed Mondatta and vowed retaliation against the organization for killing his former mentor. In the trailer, Genji got to Zenyatta first and they together ambush Talon forces led by Widowmaker and Sombra.

I love how the Zenyatta cinematic emphasized the details of the slants of his eyes (eyeholes?). It's such great visual communication showing how jaded and sad he is at the state of everything. Also the details of how he struggles to find balance (Mondatta is gone, representing lost harmony, and Rammatra remains, as discord runs rife).

I dont know if its just me but this makes me like the characters so much more. they have so much more personality and stuff behind them

I just know that Zenyatta and Ramattra's interaction is gonna be depressing if they're gonna fight each other.

The fact that we don't get to see Zenyatta use his full power. I'm so hyped to see an cinematic where he goes full power on Widowmaker and Sombra, and especially when he uses trancendence

Since the anime shorts, we learned that thanks to Aurora, who wasn't influenced by the overtake of Anubis, managed to awake and free the omnics during the Omnic Crisis, and as far as we know, Bastion managed to overwrite his war programming at he's own will, he basically AWAKE by himself, and back when Jeff was still in charged, he did mention that Bastion was going to play a huge part in the narrative of OW2, I wonder if he's inner code is somehow going to create a new awakening, or maybe help the civilian omnics be free from the helmets

We need an Arcane level Overwatch series.

4 years in the making and the cutscenes are shorter than a chapter of any sitcom

These cut scenes almost make the PVE look worth playing, the animation team really is carrying OW atm

18:34 I hope we get more missions for the season through future updates.... because I was very invested into the story especially near the end with Zenyatta's backstory....That moment alone made me feel kinda emotional with the music and the shot of the iris........i wanna know more about ramattra and see What happens between him and Zenyatta

When they’re grouped I get Avenger vibes

It is frankly disgusting that Rammatra is coopting the Iris, either conceptually or quite literally, as a way to force everyone under his control. Aurora basically created the Iris from her consciousness, her soul, to give omnics the ability to CHOOSE, and Ram basically uses her gift to remove it from everyone else.

Still wondering when they were gonna do that Movie idea they had back from the first games conception. At this point, maybe a show would probably be easier to manage. I won't come back to the game at all, but I do still feel invested in the story and was sort of happy to see even the sad parts of the story moving along, especially when my old main Zenyatta is there. Can't wait for the next bit of story where he legit starts mixing high ranking people with guns while only using his balls.

Honestly I’m interested in how Soldier and Ana will appear as Soldier is hell bent on killing reaper and exposing the truth behind overwatch’s collapse. Also I wonder if we are going to see hero deaths. I do believe Reinhardt is going to die as brigs silhouette has a piece of Reins helmet, as well as Cassidy due to lore updates following Toronto ( He’s one of my favorite characters so that would be disheartening), also potentially Zen which could cause Ram to snap. Of course I can’t wait to see my favorite character Sigma get some missions with Talon, as well as of course the Junk and Hog duo.

As expected, these cutscenes are amazing. We need a series.

I loved every cutscene…. It really feels like all the other cinematics over the years have come together in a way. So many tie ins and story’s that lore got added to

Its so great seeing ow character actually work together. The complete opposite of blizzard and its fan or my teammates and myself in ranked

I feel like the story is gonna consist of ramattra being used by doomfist as a sort of way to stir chaos amongst the world or harvest the iris (it appears that ramattra is still connected to the iris and where zenyatta is about balance, ram is all about discord) and at the end will betray ramattra, chances are this betrayal will have him fight doomfist (hoping for a 1v1 cinematic) and for ram to team up with overwatch against doomfist

this pve mode suffers from "Hunt Down the Freeman" syndrome, where the cutscenes are the highlight because its the only time you aren't playing the game.

so crazy when Sojourn looked at the camera and said, "overwatch was shut down for a reason. maybe it's time to move on." can't believe the team kept that line in

I am eager to see an instruction between bastion amd ramattra both fought in the omnic crisis both are presumably the last of their kind because of the humans yet one chose peace and the other chose war

There’s going to be a fair bit of character growth for Reinhardt. I can already tell that much. He doesn't seem to be openly racist/specist, but he does still have a lot of trauma from the First Omnic Crisis. He tolerates Omnics simply because they're useful. But then Bastion and Zenyatta join Overwatch, and his patientce is tested.

Let’s all just hope that in 1 form or another we get the finished story, and personally I wouldn’t object to more animated shorts on the side.

It's always good to get more Overwatch lore. It has been still for too long and I cannot wait for more to come.

Thanks for doing the service of letting us more f2p see these! My fave cutscene had to be the post credits. The others were alright, but it feels more put together and the dialogue was much more interesting(could be bias bc i love Ram and im a Zen main). If they kill Zen in the story i will drop this game and never pick it up again LMAO

I think i have a good understanding of whats going on, in my opinion of course. I think that after Rammatra left, and he was by himself, he tried to join someone to help him join his goal, that being Talon. Mondattas death scene by Midow made it almost to the point where if we didnt play Overwatch, we wouldnt know who fired the bullet. I think that was done to stir the "no one knows who killed Mondatta, but it mustve been a human" fight, just so it could push Rammatra over the edge, maybe because Mondatta was actually working with humans and was peacefully bringing them together, that said, Rammatra already knows Talon HQ, their recources, members, weaknesses, abilities, if Rammatra left Talon, there would be fear he would join Overwatch, and wouldve been at Watchpoint Gibraltar with everyone else, so due to Mondattas death, it pushed him over the edge; Talons plan was to get this to happen by their own hands, shielding Rammatra from the truth, just so he would launch the attack on everyone with Null Sector, making it seem like Talon is just on the sidelines, that way Overwatch will forget about them. Im sure that Zenyatta knows the truth about Mondatta, thats why Talon goes after him, before Zenyatta can tell Rammatra the truth and have him as an ally, they know how dangerous that would be. They also know that killing Zenyatta would be a massive mistake, as Rammatra would possibly find out who it was, and turn against them. Keeping this all in mind, Rammatra is no fool, and im sure that humans (Talon) would not be able to get the best of Rammatra, so Rammatra most likely has a backup plan for a double cross, but heres where it gets interesting, lets say Rammatra turns against them, Talon now has Zenyatta in their possession (at least im assuming ofc) and that puts Rammatra in a position of do what Talon says, or lose Master Zenyatta, and we all know that Rammatra will not let Zenyatta die. Bringing up Rammatra voiceline of (Suffer, as I have) or (Lets speak to them in a language they understand, violence!) We think that these are just sent from omnics such as Rammatra and Zenyatta, and its a message to humans, but what i think it is, is Rammatra popping his ult to cook Talon, and hes telling them to suffer as he has because he lost all of his people etc, and Rammatra is going to kill all of them. Furthermore Zenyatta would not want that to happen as he is one for peace and not violence, so he probably stops Rammatra saying something like "people killing omnics is what started this war, do not be the omnic to kill humans" and Rammatra is going to stop, but i dont think hes gonna go with Zenyatta, hed have to atone for what he did with Null Sector, whether it was Talon or not, Rammatra most likely believes that that is what will happen, so he escapes back as a solo party, not belonging to Talon, Overwatch, Null Sector, humans or omnics.
