Just recently watched the voicelines that were at Storm Rising with him, Tracer, and Mercy talking about how Genji enjoys hanging out with them but hardly talks with his Blackwatch comrades 😂
Maannnn it makes me sad Hanzo so clearly grieves the loss of his relationship with his brother, but is too clouded by his indecision and anger that he cannot see Genji is already trying to love him again.
i think the fact that Genji lived doesn’t change the act of Hanzo killing his brother. He did killed Genji, and that cannot be changed. That’s burdening him. if you understood what i meant.
Strangely, Genji has no notable voice lines with Mercy. You'd think being brought back from the dead would have you interact with that person who saved you a lot more.
When Genji shutdown Reaper's ult he says: "It's too early for death to bloom." as the ability is called "Death blossom" He also says "Mock death at your own peril."
He has another unique elimination voiceline where he kills an enemy Genji, and goes "My deadliest enemy, finally defeated" Which is funny because it could either mean something deep, like him being vulnerable about how his inner conflict still haunts him sometimes. But it could also mean that he's going "I have finally killed the strongest man in the world, which was myself ofcourse."
Both Genji and Hanzo fight their inner self, well Hanzo does Genji has already accepted who he is and made peace with himself, Hanzo has a long way to go
@@teamur57 yeah, from playing the only new ones I heard was, “no need to check up on me doctor” and “just like old times”, also “u owe me for that one genji”
Honestly it's kinda funny that Jacks more easy to hate than Reaper. Hes so pretentious and wrapped up in his pride that he can't admit he was just as bad as Genji, if not worse for being in the mental clear and still not caring. Atleast Reaper and Genji know what they did was wrong and either know and don't care or actually admit it
@@Safak9088 in summary, blackwatch did a LOT of shady stuff and Overwatch endorsed it and allowed it to happen. They only really cared when it got exposed and endangered the main overwatch brand
Yeah it’s kinda weird that genji barely have any interaction with the black watch team. I would expect him to have some interaction with reaper but there are none.
It's interesting that Hanzo has obviously has time to cool off and think about what has happened. In overwatch 1 he seemed angry at the world and taking it out on other characters, when he found out that Genji was alive, but now he seems to be more regretfull of how things went down.
I like to think about it like this. After "killing" Genji, Hanzo was so regretful that he abandoned everything that was ready to be handed to him. His father's empire, wealth, and honor, all left behind as punishment for his actions... only to find out he didn't even finish the job. In his mind, he gave up everything for nothing! No wonder he was so pissed.
I'm very happy that he sounds more playful and cheerful (as much as he can be). He was so "philosophy-ish" and introspective in my opinion on the first game even though he's described as such a cheerful young man in the lore. But I guess being turned into a cyborg does that to you. Still, i am happy.
Interactions can be non-romantic, though. It is weird that they do not interact with each other, considering their history. Maybe they will add new quotes?
Seems blizzard might lean into the pharmercy side in this game which sucks because overwatch 1 definitely built up Genji and Angela as liking each other more than just friends (The first name basis, the chocolates, etc.)
@@peopleperson5917 no like when he deflects ults did they take those out like he would say bastion catch and if he deflect Hanzo's ult he would say his ult back
genji can deflect the arrow from hanzo dragonstrike and when he does genji mocks hanzo by saying "ryuga wagateki wo kurau" which is what hanzo says when he ults
