you can check in the options, on pc the defaults are V and I think also mouse button 4, a button to the side of the mouse for those who have it

If I'm not mistaken, I believe every melee (besides reinhardt and torbjorn hammer) does 30 damage. It used to be 50 but they changed it. However, someone correc tme if Im wrong!

this made melee's seriously useless, you might as well always just wait to reload. it takes away variation/play style from the game. they should make melees do different and generally more damage per character

Not true at all. It's really great when you would normally have to reload and miss out on damage. I use it all the time with Lucio (can get through Reinhardt's shield + you're super fast), D.Va (in and out of the mech), Mei (quick hit on weak frozen enemies), Genji, Solider, Reaper (if I miss a few shots), and Zenyatta (when I discord and enemy it does double damage). It's great when used to finish off weak foes.
