I think Overwatch would be better off with a tv series, one movie isn't enough for all 25 heroes

If you're wondering about the cryo chambers, they all malfunctioned because of the batteries. You notice the blinking light in the beginning of the video. That was the battery. When the power began to fail, it began to prioritize the other pods. Since Mei's pod was the last one, the final battery prioritized her and Snowball. The other pods malfunctioned and the other scientists would wake up too early but couldn't leave the pods. So they'd probably suffer hypothermia or suffocation and they'd die in their pods. That's why Ecopoint Antarctica is like a graveyard and those pods are like coffins.

Dwayne N Jazz to explain how the others died in their cryogenic sleep it's because the amount of batteries could not supply the amount of people in their containers causing them to malfunction. Therefore as the amount of battery supplies diminished the crew members pods couldn't maintain a state of stability causing their pods to malfunction one by one killing and them not knowing that they are dead. Winston saved Mei's life with that message because in the state of emergency the pods were supposed to wake up the crew members where she was, and due to the fact that their was a limited battery supply they were unable to survive along with Mei

What is cool is that.... they can use these shorts as trailers for the movie. Indicating that the story will take place after many of these shorts. So they wont have to backtrack. But i want them to make a high budget show instead of a movie, to really flesh out the characters and have an interesting plot, instead of condensing it to a 2 hour show with only some characters

Every time when I watch these mei reactions 90% of the comments says " MEI IS T H I C C"

I get what they meant about the voice acting. Mei is a very honest, cheerful character, and some of the optimism can come across as a little cheesy sometimes.

As someone else noticed, if Winston hadn't sent that recall message, the system would not have woke Mei up, and she would have died as well.

Oooo, have you seen the short that came out just a couple days before this one, it's not a official short but it's a really awesome animation for Junkrat and Roadhog to show off a brand new map. It's actually really funny and Junkrat is adorable, ya'll should really check it out if you haven't on your own time (I didn't see it in your videos)

One way I can imagine Cryosleep malfunctioning and killing the one inside would be them waking them too early, thus killing them from shock. Or the freazing malfunction brakes and kills them from hypothermia. It's just a theory, Cryosleep has never been tried in a way that works.

Mei's colleagues died because all their batteries ran down due to the unexpectedly long hibernation. If Winston's message had not come in and triggered the activation of her pod, Mei would have died as well.

Mei is my absolute favorite character in the game, she's my main, i'll only and always pick her. I cried when I saw this was released yesterday and continued to just cry while holding my Mei funko pop watching the short.

4:00 I think they had a problem because earlier it said they had a weak signal and meis was the only one who'd finish I guess giving the support to keep her alive for that long before it stoped all the others from getting it to save them

I didn’t feel anything about the other scientists, but when snowball depleted its battery I died.

Btw, the reason the cryo chambers malfunctioned because they were programmed to wake the scientists up when there was a supply drop/signal about a supply drop. But since no supply drop came and Overwatch was disbanded and the base was lost in a polar storm, the batteries slowly ran out and the scientists died one by one until the last battery was remaining along with the last scientist (Mei). However Winston's signal probably triggered the wake up protocol and thus he kinda saved Mei from death.

This just proves Winston (the ape on the computer if you didn’t know) is the next Martin Luther King Jr

They've been asleep for 9 years. Power's totally used up. Power used to run the cryo pods. Whatever's left was running Mei's cryo pod and she got out before it came to that.

Because of the bad weather they couldn't get out a signal to ask for help. So they went into cryosleep to wait for the next delivery of supplies. It never came because Overwatch was shut down and had to abandon all missions and activity immediately. A lot of Overwatch members went to prison, which is why Soldier and Ana are still on the run. The cryopods were failing one by one as the power ran out. Mei's was about to be the last to fail. Winston sending out the call to all Overwatch agents activated the wake up process. Since they set themselves to be woken up once the resupply truck arrived and called to be let in. She has nine years worth of climate data that can help save millions of lives from natural disasters around the world. She hooks up Snowball to a solar rig, grabs some supplies, and starts the trek back towards civilization.

It’s not surprising the chambers malfunctioned; they were only supposed be used for a short time. The Captain referred to it as “nap time” not “sleep time”. They probably weren’t supposed to be used/activated for 9 years. Probably months at best

little do they know.... that from what Ive heard in her back story, when the other pods malfunctioned, the pods woke them up, but didn't do it properly, so frozen in ice, they all woke up in panic, and suffocated.... Thats what I heard. Puts a whole new meaning of dark huh?

the reason blizzard hasn't done anything in relation to animated tv shows/movies is because the sheer man power and cost to produce something feature length at the quality level they are known for would be astronomical, and while they are the biggest boys on the block in terms of financial clout within the industry, they would need to outsource A LOT of the work to full time animators making the cost even higher, not to mention the time it takes to make these things, most of the time when any animated film is announced to be coming soon, it is already complete or very close to complete because if studios actually said "we have green lit a new project for a sequal to 'insert overhyped film name here'" then it would be years before it actually hit theatres when the hype would likely be dead, there's a huge amount of work goes into animation that people just don't understand, while i would be ecstatic to see any of the blizzard franchises get an animated movie or tv series, i know in reality it will never happen due to limitations beyond their control.

So, from what people are telling me, Overwatch was suppose to wake them up, with a signal, but the signal never came either because of the overwatch disbanding/omnic war or because the ecopoint satellite broke so the signal never would've got to them anyway. I don't know how all the pods malfunctioned, but hers stayed intact.

the sleep pods malfunctioned because the batteries cannot support them long term. in the beginning it showed only 1 battery left on loew juice which just proves it only had enough support for the last tube holding mei. meis team slowly died as the power drained. leaving the sensors on was probably a bad idea. :(
