Symmetra can be good on attack but its hard to be consistent with dive comp constantly looking for the Tele. But if you get a shield up on def it helps keep the fights more competitive on capture point 2

I'm a 2700 sym and I do not use her on attack. I know she can be used, but its not ideal. So I use Zen or Lucio on attack. His placement of shield gen/teleport was terrible. And as you basically said his use of the barrier wasn't aggressive enough

if you put up a Teleporter and thats not what you wanted to do, just use it! or Switch your hero and go back to Symmetra. Same works for Baby DVA, want you Mech back? CHANGE and go back to DVA!

I don't know why but there is some sort of psycological effect on people to really seak out that teleporter/shield gen whenever it's out even if it's detremental to go after it. It's like a big bait of somesort

to get rid of the tele they should have let them kill it or went back into spawn to just use it and get the shield gen back. i did that worked fine, sym got the shield in the next attack

She should've swapped to something else and back to Symmetra when she did the teleporter cockup to get the ability to build ult again

I just checked the first 6 min. Its was clear right away that the Symplayer never watched a stream by Stevo. When you in the middle of the fight of the last point 5:30 hei walked away to drop his Ultimate. Thats not a good idea but still ok. What makes it worse, he wasted to much time to place 3 turrets, although he was needed to secure the point with his Sentries. The Teleporter was not needed. I can give you team a better winhance by helping on the Point with your Dps while placing Sentires on the point. If you lose the fight, the teleport wont change the outcome. Once the neemy got the upperhand, its over. The people walking through the teleport are only getting stacked.

No stylosa, symmetra isn't a support. She's a builder. That's like saying torb is a support. I know technically she's classified as a support, but she really isn't.

As far as forward turret placement, it is actually correct that he places them forward to get some ult charge early. The turrets will be mostly refunded by the time he gets back to the point and if the enemy didn't come through that way or destroyed his turrets, then he would already be able to start placing them on the point. His turret mistakes... - his locations for the forward turrets weren't in a spot that covered multiple paths the enemies were likely to go - after placing the initial turrets he didn't fall back far enough to ensure turret placement on the control point prior to the enemy getting to the point As an aside, attack Sym is actually quite good in a couple spots. My personal favorite is Volsya Industries where you can create a permanent shield generator that the enemies will never be able to destroy. Plus, once you gain a footing on the point, quickly laying down a turret carwash makes it almost impossible for the defending team to rally a retake. She's weaker when attacking the first point of that map, but projected barrier and good timing can help the attacking team deathball through the choke. Kinda odd...45 hours...something like over 80% of his total play time as Symmetra and he still makes the mistakes that he does. I wouldn't retract the criticism that he plays too much Sym either. She's useful in more spots that many folks give her credit for, but not THAT many more spots. His inflexibility to learn multiple heroes (while dedicated to a single hero that he's kind of mediocre at) has almost certainly cost his team games in the past.

8:19 Sty...dude. They aren't permanently fixed in place until destroyed. Once you see they are destroyed or the enemy are taking another route you can start building them on point. You have more than enough time to get at least three to four down before they make it to point from either side. Even more, nearly *everyone* rushes right (on attack) at least for the first push.

Sty obviously doesn't play symmetra very often. A lot of what he was saying they were doing wrong was good.

Stylosa is obviously an amazing dps player and an overall OW player but when you watch his Symmtera or Torbjorn videos you realize he doesn't play them at all...

I think this player needs to work a bit more on reaction time and hero movement, it's very linear and predictable and in the big fights they almost seem a bit dissorinated.

Anyone notice how the Intro had the "Pro OverAnalyzed." I thought it was quite interesting considering this was attack symettra gameplay.

I don't get what all the hate is when it comes to Attack sym. I'm around the same SR as this guy now with a 96% WR on Sym and a bit over 7 hrs now playing her on both attack and defense. When you lose, your team blames you for throwing. When you win, the enemy calls you a no-skill player and that you would suck with any other character. The whole mentality of this honestly bugs the hell out of me. Also, Sty ain't the best coach for Sym. Its kinda the reason why I never bothered to send in my gameplay because I know I probably wouldn't get much out of it. However, I will agree that this Sym in particular has very poor choices of turret placements &TP/shield gen. Also, he needs to learn target priority and how to flank if he ever wants to get good with sym.

stylosa, this series is great and all, but i don't think you should coach people who play heroes that you've got no experience with.

A couple of things; *Sty this is a DPS Symmetra playstyle, much like Steveo & Luminum play her* 1. Placing turrets on attack doesn't do much unless they're put on the point. 2. Turrets can *always* be repositioned 3. The teleporter can be used as a decoy to distract the team 4. You can charge your beam on barriers

I'm really disappointed in Sty here. I agree that their teleporter spots are questionable. But putting turrets up close is how you get extra ult charge, like to how a Reinhardt would throw an early firestrike. A Syms job isnt to just sit on the cap with her turrets. She can punish bad positioning and secure flank routes. Telling the Sym to "Just go in with your left click" is a great way to die. To hear that the player "should not be playing Sym on attack" and got "carried" from someone who enforces the idea that meta and rank don't matter, is really disappointing.

All you did was prove you're really bad at Symmetra and nobody should follow your advice.

I love how everyone in the comments is raging over the attack sym pick or just sym as a whole. In the right hands any character can work. Stop looking at her as a support and taking up a support slot on the team. Instead see her as DPS pick(kind of like you could see sombra in a support role) your job on attack is to build your ult as fast as possible by spamming a choke, fortifying an escape route to fall back on or place your turrets in a way that stops the enemy flankers from diving your team, and if your team moves forward. Fry the supports. Cause you can kill them quick. Once on the point if the fight is still breaking out put turrets where you know they have to come through to get to the point. They either need to ignore them and take un needed damage or turn and kill them wasting valuable time. You got to be unpredictable with your movement cause you are gonna get close to the enemy and know your ability animations to barrier them. I have blocked so many hammer downs and hooks cause I catch the animation of it and just throw my barrier at them. Now all these tips work great on both attack and defense. So hopefully this helps others either get better with symmetra or her teammates understand what she should be doing.

I'm amazed no one was complaining about his pick. I really don't care what anyone plays as long as they are doing work but most people are too narrow minded to try something different. With that said this player is just mediocre at best and if he was playing a meta hero he would still be mediocre. Now if this had been your typical match people would have been screaming at this guy to switch and here's where I have a problem. When you play non-meta heroes and do bad people will be toxic towards you but if you play meta and do bad they won't. Don't believe me try it sometime. I love bastion and do well with him on both attack and defense but the moment something goes wrong it's the bastion's fault. There have been times when i've played soldier and didn't even get bronze elims and lost but never has anyone blamed me for it. It really is unbelievable.

Something about a projective barrier

The comment section makes me want to one trick a hero like sym or torb. I can sense a lot of "I'm gold but I should be master but my team drags me down" from those comments. The amount of salt is so ridiculous, it's plat lvl, you can win with any hero if you are good enough. Maybe that sym was kinda bad but majority of plat players are bad and are winning because enemy team is just way worse so I wouldn't say that's a reason why he should stop playing sym on attack.

Taking a support slot??? It's not like theres's a cap on how many supports there is, sym can dps easily so its not like she is a support hero.

Actually holding your ult is actually a good thing. Sometimes you hold onto a TP and place it down as your team respawns in an evenly traded fight. If you place it down early and a good tracer hears that deploy, she can harass the TP and you'd have to stay behind to defend it and risk losing it. This guy isnt even using half of his kit. The shield and the mess ups on the shield gen and tele makes me not take this serious. I rose from 2400 which ive been at every season and wrnt up to 3000 with a good sym and lucio combo. This guy has turrets in random places never on point and teles when youre 2 feet from spawn... ugh just use the shield you throw out

I literally can't watch this any further I stopped at 19:26. Don't repeat tactics that don't work as Sym. Turrets become predictable and there is always constant change when playing this character. I can't believe the first OA is on a Sym like this. I'll send you a better one.

I think for these kinds of videos, you should watch them first to the finish before giving commentary. And then compliment/ point out mistakes where you mean to. A lot of the times, your feedback is simply unfair to the player who (sometimes) is doing a decent or even good job. Not only this video, but you tend to make certain critiques that are just void the next second because we don't know what the player is seeing compared to what a viewer like you would see. It may help for better analysis rather than on-the-spot biased shouts. Like you always mention rank and how this and that wouldn't work, but I see the same thing happening in GM that you might see in gold or plat (at least from the OW youtubers I watch).

you obviously don't play Sym well enough to know her. The reason why she places them on one side even though the enemy team could come through the right door is because she's trying to lure the enemies to her. They see a Sym who's probably the closest opponent or easiest (in their mind) so they go to you because you're orbing them. You lure them in, they get bombarded by the turret beams while you microwave them. It's a common technique for Sym. Referencing the moment @17:27 You can see the technique work amazing but not the best it could. She obviously was trying to lure them upstairs and Zarya fell for it and she died because of it. Also, placing the tp right next to the point so your teammates can get back on the point is bad. It's all about keeping it safe and that spot is constantly invaded by the enemy team. Keeping it outside not only keeps it safe, but it allows your team to flank them from the stairs area which is left of the point and will increase the chance of your team pushing the enemies out, largely. It's also a perfect spot to use photon barrier while shooting orbs at them on the point. You said enemies can just walk out and find it. No one walks out there because it's away from the point. It's stupid to say that when the spot you suggested is literally right next to the point where the enemies can easily destroy it, instantly. Saying that Sym should've went and microwaved the enemies instead of placing turrets is a stupid thing. Her, placing her turrets up next to the tp/sg (forgot which one) is vital. You can see when a turret is attacking or is destroyed. A fabulous trick to find an enemy who is most likely mid to low from the turrets, is by setting up 1-2 turrets at your tp/sg and keeping an eye on the little icons u can see from anywhere on the map. When you see the turret(s) indicating its attacking someone, or see the turret(s) get destroyed. Quickly go over to the tp/sg and microwave whoever set off the turrets. They will most likely be low from the turrets and u will most likely save your tp/sg while u finish them. Even if they aren't low, they usually never attack back, but focus on destroying your tp/sg. Most of the time you'll eliminate them before they succeed. A Sym who runs into battle instead of using this technique, isn't using Sym's full potential. Her microwaving is powerful, but setting up turrets and using them as an 'alarm' is much more resourceful and useful then just going and microwaving. You can do that later. Also, I know Sym says that her tp/sg is being attacked but the turret alerts sometimes go off before that because they most likely attack those first.

The most criminal thing on this video is that you just made the life of all symm teammates more toxic. You even watched the video in the final point cap, he placed the shield gen, protected it, then went in and killed the tanks.. and... HE WAS CARRIED?!? No, sir.. he did his role. Considering his team was full of low HP attackers.. who only one of them could manage to out dmg him.. even with BAD symm play.. that says a lot about his team. He made a lot of mistakes on his ult placements.. obvious mistakes that even the player knew he did. I think that would have disqualified this video. I am surprised that you couldn't find a better person to help then this one. The only thing this symm player took from your "coaching" was "switch". The only thing other players got from this video was.. "see, symm players really are worthless on attack" I'm very disappointed.

Symmetra and Sombra need to switch roles tbh, one's a great dps than a support and vice versa.

I really think you should stop making over analyzed videos for characters you don't play. I got triggered on the sombra recent buffs over analyzed, because you pretty much never play her. If you don't know how to play a character, don't make a video on how to. Get people that are actually good at symmetra like hoshizora and stevoo

You really got stop coaching heroes u don't play, its like a mercy main (like me) tryna teach someone how to play tracer xD I'm a mercy main who is currently learning sym and a lot of this video contradicts what good sym mains advise, in all honesty your coaching series is one of the worst in terms of accurate information it is more fun to watch than some of the more technical series' but for players trying to improve I wouldn't advise these videos. if ur just wanting some very basic advice and a fun time then they are great but as someone who went from gold to gm by studying vods ect their are much better out there for pure improvement.

You dont understand Sym, and this isnt good play at all. The community is so toxic towards sym. And this did not help any Sym players at all. Super disappointed because i had really hoped when you would do a video you would understand how to play her and be beneficial to her team and the game. Maybe help take some of the incredibly disgusting toxicity away from the other player.

One time I played sym on attack on Hollywood and then we lost but I had gold elims and damage and two ppl our team said I was autistic for playing sym on attack...we had one tank the entire time...the 2nd tank switched to a tracer...and I put a tele behind them and our entire team went through and died...they blamed me for our deaths...I told them we needed more health like more tanks and they said we didn’t have another tank because I was sym on attack...they said they couldn’t talk in team chat or switch to a tank or higher health dps because I was symmetra...wtf?

only watched half the video so far, but Sym has silver/gold damage for most of the fight so far. He's doing some work, or the DPS need to step it up, a lot.

I'm a symm main and I have 123. hrs rn and this guy is horrible bad positioning bad , bad turret placement, bad barrier timings, and bad target prioritization

The reason they put shield gen on first point attack was because their team had pressure on the enemy team. When your team has pressure you need to place turrets on point (except play load) and or set up your ult. Symmetras turrets can destroy when placed correctly.

Why not just make it a rule to bring up the scoreboard at least during every break and at the end of the game? That way you're guaranteed to at least see it a few times.

If the first tip you give is to get off of symmetra, then why are you helping them? You’re only inhibiting them.

placing a teleporter here: 5:50 was a terrible spot. cause here 5:58 you can se the teleporter clearly and you just have to shoot it from there.
