Here's how to properly play Reaper 1. Stay in the back as far as you can, reaper is most effective from long range 44. Make sure you teleport to the middle of the fight, it's highly effective. 2. Idk lol 5. Death blossom is completely useless, only use it to look cool 7. Wraith form is one of the worst "abilities" of the game, it is only useful to show off your hot topic contacts ???. If your teammates are giving you a hard time for your 1 bronze, spam the voice line "Give me a break" Stylosa will come down from Elo heaven and instantly give you 8 golds somehow Step 343322: DIE DIE DIE
Mariotrooper 78. at least you have a lucio be grate full of what you have i had a one trick hanzo and genji and a widow plus a soldier and a junk rat and some one who was throwing as torb and me a roadhog who was being counter hard
I really don't get how 4 and 5 star prestige players are still down in silver. Yes, they may not play comp much but you'd think they'd have the experience and game sense to push up real quick.
MattyCCuz because not all people have amazing aim but they obviously love the game regardless, some people just arent as competitive/aren't really trying to improve as they just love the game regardless of their rank
MattyCCuz bro that's my life st plat rn, I've played pc less then 5 months I'm brand new and climbed 1000 sr but plat is hell so far , they constantly do dumb things with combination or piss poor aim
Reaper is a flanker who needs to choose his battles wisely and gets picks, not a sole sticker with the group. You always go behind the enemy when attacking or they will try pick you off first while fighting. If you only stay with the team, you spend half the match being useless because youre waiting for the enemy to get close
Think this guy has what it takes to make it way higher then where he is now. Agree with a few of the ults, the one where he's alone, never do that, agreed. The one you mentioned Sty where you would have used it, I would to, but it is also way easier in hindsight. I'd say the most important thing is his instincts are good, and that's the most important thing! Also, the entire team often wants to defend right in front of the payload in lower ranks, I know it's bad, many of us knows it's not gonna work, but might as well play around it and work with them. If he's staying behind at Big Earl's, there's gonna be 5v6, and respawns will probably mean they would cap the first point. In lower ranks, Overwatch isn't a team game, it's a solo game, so pulling off things like this works. It's good you tell him, tell us all, so when we suddenly get to a point where the team stays back at the choke, we all know why, so keep mentioning it, and keep mentioning it as matches play along. Just don't expect things in lower levels to work the same way, cause it's a different game down there. And one last thing. I have many many hours on Mercy to, to the point where I look like a Mercy one trick. Much of that comes due to people not wanting to play support, especially in the lower ranks. So in order to have a chance to climb the ranks and improve, I've practiced to a point where I have 100+ hours. In this season, I have 98% of my played time on Mercy, mainly choose Mercy due to being more comfortable with her then Ana, and the fact that comms in lower ranks are bad, so having the Soldier wait 2 seconds for me to get into position to nano or get the final 5% ulti doesn't happen. I choose hero last (mostly anyway), and always end up playing support cause people don't want to, they all wanna kill sheit, even though I feel very comfortable playing Zarya, D.Va, Mei, Torb, Soldier and also been practising a lot of Pharah. My point is, I wanted to be flexible, but often, there isn't a choice, and as you climb the ranks (you mentioned this yourself), you're asked to play tank or support because that's what you've been playing tons of. That's why you made Stakebait, you told us yourself, you wanted to play Soldier but never got to cause you played tons of Rein so you were always asked to play tank. So maybe the one tricks is our own fault. Mercy works well in all the ranks, but because she doesn't use her weapon, there not used to aiming, and that's why it goes wrong when you get three Mercy mains in your match.
Can someone explain the whole ranking and comp thing to me? I started playing Overwatch this week and I ranked into gold(about 2325 i think) but on my last placement match, a few teammates said that they were throwing. Does my individual performance matter if I win or lose? And is there a big difference between gold, platinum and diamond?
YoungPlutus gold, plat, and diamond are kinda close, but separated by aim and positioning. Your individual performance matters to an extent, u get more SR (this applies only on wins) the. Better u do compared to others on the same hero, u will most likely get stuck in plat. (by far hardest to climb out of) and yes people Are toxic and throw (intentionally lose games causing u to lose sr)
YoungPlutus I haven't played in gold yet but I'd say there is a big difference between platinum and diamond. Accuracy and positioning for one, and communication for two. Though of course EU and NA servers have it different. To answer the other question, the game takes away SR from you for a loss and gives for a win. There's a hidden rank called MMR, basically if you play let's say Mei a lot in gold, the game will compare your performance to other Meis around your same level. This will determine your MMR. If your SR, your visible season rank is lower then the MMR, you gain more SR on a win and loose less on a loss, while if you are above your MMR (significantly in both cases) you will get less SR for wins and loose more for losses. The MMR is not an unchangable rating, it will alwaya adjust to your stats so you can improve it. Other things also play into your SR, if you are alone you get more SR for a game then if you are in a group, if you have a leaver on your team you you will loose less/win more, etc. I hope I was clear and I am fairly sure I am right too, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Tracey The Tracer And Reaper hasn't gotten a skin since December. She has 8 legendaries while everyone else has about 5. She definitely does not need a legendary.
idk if anyone else agrees but i liked the globes they were a reward for getting the kill leaving you with more health after you get the kill EDIT: i haven't played since the update i just liked the globes
Sty, what the hell are you talking about. Im a high diamond, damn near grandmaster. I have wraith formed to the edge of rooftops, hit my ult, then dropped on to the enemy team and got a pent or quad kill. It will work if used right.
I have a suggestion, could you pause the video when giving general advice for the hero and focus on giving specific advice for the gameplay while the video is playing?
I still think that reaper can be improved. His wraith form needs fixing. Anyone can just walk up to him in his wraith, maybe boost the speed to match soldier's running speed.
Random guy: Hey guys whats up? Sty: Mute this guy for asking personal questions. Seriously Sty its not that big of a deal that someone said something about their life jesus.
Here are a couple Reaper tips for ya. Aim for the head, it really boosts your damage which really boosts your healing. Early in the video, Sty wanted you to ult a Rein and a Mercy, but not only did her rez make her immune, you also took two hits (150 damage) from Rein. Let's assume Rein gets his shield up. That means Rein is not only blocking your ult, but you're not hitting the Mercy and who she rezzed for about 1.5 seconds. A better play would have been to wraith form back to your healers further back, let them heal you, and you could have teleported up top to drop down and get more out of your ult. Your play of the game was also a fine time to do that. Mercy, Bastion, and Junk don't have forms of crowd control to stop your ult, and are all pretty defenseless heroes when not protected by Rein shield. Note you had your team right behind you as well. What if Roadhog, McCree, and Ana were the three you're ulting? Then it's a bad idea because of hook, flashbang, and dart. I find it funny that Sty wants you to ult two people after a rez with the Rein focusing you and ready to use shield, but doesn't want you to ult three defenseless people while Rein isn't paying attention lol. Also, when you wraith formed past Mercy and toward Bastion, I understood your thought process... apparently Sty didn't. Due to mechanical skills lacking, you found yourself unable to kill Mercy because you saw the Bastion, and opted to use wraith forms short time of invulnerability to move through the Bastion and drop back in to your teammates. If you wraith formed, turned around, and tried to kill Mercy, Bastion most likely mows you down with ease (being in a small tunnel). Worst case scenario, you don't kill Mercy, you die, and proceed to spend the next 20 seconds getting back to the fight. Best case scenario, you kill Mercy, you die, and proceed to spend the next 20 seconds getting back to the fight, while Mercy is back to the fight in 10 seconds. They have spawn advantage, so when on defense, you have to value your life more. Trading one for one is okay in most offensive scenarios, and almost never okay when on defense. I would say mostly everything Sty said in this video wasn't quite exactly what you need to hear. For the most part, you made good decisions, and you ended up winning.
I have to agree, as well. As a Reaper main, I couldn’t find myself agreeing with quite a bit of Sty and his points. If I have a healer or someone fairly easy to kill like a Bastion, Orisa, etc. I’m killing them, so that it becomes easier to kill the healer. This guy has better game sense than he was given credit for.
I actually disagree with most of the stuff said here. His ults on defense were fine. junkrat mercy rein and bastion don't see the reaper coming so it's an easy 3 dead and finish up rein. The next ult after mercy rez is also fine. You can't prepare for a reaper ult on the enemy team after being revived. I felt this was more negative than criticism. As a reaper main, i would say work on focus aim, who are you trying to kill bro. My sr around 3100. Oh, and mute that pharah.
Hi guys I am releasing doomfist in a few centuries and nerfing every single character in the game and buffing only hanzo and widowmaker Don't forget to buy overwatch
These videos are intended to help everyone. There are people who are in bronze or in silver who can benefit more from seeing someone closer to their skill be told how to improve what they'r doing.
I want to see if anyone agrees with me. Fuck season 5. This season feels like nothing but rng bull shit. In 30% of my games I've had a leave. think about that 3/10 games r basically a guaranteed loss so even if in the other 7/10 games I go 5 and 2 ( which is pretty good) coverall I'd be 5 and 5 and unable to climb on top of that this is 3rd season of overwatch in my 1st I placed silver finished gold in my 2nd I placed gold finished almost plat at 2450ish but this season I got placed almost 1000sr lower at low silver wtf how as that even possible so at this point I'm just waiting for season 5 to end basically because every time I play comp I feel like the bs gods r giving me the finger.
i agree,im on diamond 2798,and all i get are hanzos or widows saying oh trust me im good, then proceeds to play like a bronze.Im a healer main and i just want this season to finish :(
Can u do a vid on the possibility of a Junkertown map? There is some interesting trends when comparing Junkertown to other maps, like Oasis. DVA had a skin named Junkertown, and in some of the skin descriptions Junkertown is mentioned. I think it would be cool to have a map in the Outback!
I'm 15 minutes in and I'm kinda mad. don't get me wrong I'm a shit reaper, but as a top 500 mercy main i can bet you I gave a shit ton of game sense. And literally every single time so far into this video all of the reapers "mistakes" were pretty understandable and would just as easily been done by someone else. Except for the one moment when he stuck trying to kill mei, that was bad. For example. When I stopped this video to make this comment, he was complaining about not killing mercy. We all know that with his aim, he wasn't gonna kill that mercy before the junkrat behind him spamming bombs only needing one more shot was gonna kill him. If anything, at that position, it was smart to wraith out of there. Only thing he did do wrong there was hesitate and not full on run away. Thank you for reading this comment and I hope you understand.
Totally agree with you. Most of the "mistakes" pointed out were debatable and it may have been worse if reaper did it the "right way". Nobody could have known.
Mark Del Villar When he complained about him ignoring Mercy for the Bastion, he actually missed a shot on Mercy, then realized he was injured and in front of a damn bastion, so he wealth formed. If he hadn't done what he did he would have died
I have liked most of your videos, but this one seemed like you spent a lot more time talking about his team and that toxic Pharah, and not the player and his gameplay so much. Which is a shame, I was really hoping for some extra insight into Reaper.
It's clear that you don't know much about reaper than you think you do. Reaper tp is an excellent way to move around unnoticed to assassinate. 10:50 for proof why its useful, despite the fact that there is a pharah and somehow she is too distracted. If there were healers behind, which at most the time they are, you can wipe them. Although, I'd recommend using that only against good widow carries since its such a waste of time eating away dps that could be utilized against tanks. Because as a reaper, and thanks to the current dive comp meta, you put yourself and your team at a direct advantage because you are a direct counter to winston and dva. In that moment, where he could have killed that mercy in the tunnel, it was the right decision to back off from the tunnel as soon as you realize A: mercy who is borderline good should and would be firing right at you in that area, and B: There is a friggin bastion looking at you. C: you can hear your most pain in the ass counter, the junkrat behind you. He could have traded his life anyways for the mercy but it wouldn't have been worth it imo because of the spawn advantage. And yeah, Junkrat is a big problem for reapers since he can definitely kill you if you do not coy him out for his double shift combo and afterwards proceed to headshot wipe him. This is ideally true in a narrow space making junks even more deadlier. at 9:00, I'm sorry but your knowledge about reinhardt hammer, reaper lifesteal, reaper ultimate range is all too low if you called that was the time to ultimate. It was a good call NOT to waste ultimate because by the time rez immunity wore off, reinhardt has already cornered you to a wall with less than half of hp. If you have used ultimate there it would have been a total waste because rein could eat it and protect mercy if he wished, and in the meantime mercy will fire back and kill you, or rein decides to hammer you down to death knowing that the lifesteal of a combined rein and mercy is not enough to sustain a reaper long enough to let him get a kill. I can see he panicked himself and was considering about using or not using death blossom in response to former rez, but that there is your trusty tunnel vision, or thinking, when you forget his greatest strength, the wraith form, is off cooldown. The questionable reaper ult at 16:00 is worth it if he properly placed distance with himself and the junk because of mayhem. It doesn't matter much if all those players were in gm and top500 when I see no counters that can stop die die die.. I would do it, since because of the jailout card called wraith form and close by teammates to escape the left out tracer and. But yeah, revenge single ultimating junkrats right on top of them was a painful lesson in getting to know how deadly he is to a noobing reaper even after death lol. That ultimate given that it could have been executed a bit more coordinated, but still, this is silver we are talking about. I swear, that wouldn't have been triple kill if rein decides to show up alone or with reaper making the junk and mercy to leave bastion and handle him. As reaper, thanks to the successful support murdering dive comp that works, always go for that dive monkey first, or enemy supports if you believe your supports can last longer. I know reaper isn't all that good against many of his supposed counters in a full 1v1 brawl at higher levels, but he is still a good counter to the monkey and dva menace and also a viable hero when properly used in flanks at certain maps thanks to teleport and wraith.
Sty I need your help on Route 66 we got through the first point semi easily but lost halfway through the second point. I’m a gold player and I told my team to take the high ground (big earls) they did but they complained about them going to flank behind. They did and killed us we lost the first point and then 2 people left we lost and I was so discouraged to go back to ranked please help me I need your support. Please respond with help.
Canceled 3 death blossoms on Numbani with flash bangs. Worked with diva and her matrix to contain and eliminate him, it was just so nice. Wouldn't have be possible without MICS!
Stoylas is there another way I can figure what i need to work on. I cant do over analyzed because my laptop wont be able to record and play and my graphics are on high. I really want to get better and i think my biggest problem is my positioning but i can't seem to get better at that. I can't do 1 of the "overwatch coaches" because I'm just a kid. What should i do.
Lol yeah it does, you can do whatever you want at these shit ranks, any crazy play but I guess you still actually have to be better than the other players at that rank
sty, i actually dont know what to do. i got got placed in mid gold, which is a joke, then grinded up to plat and then i got to 2942 sr and then dropped to mid plat with bad match ups and now im getting 40 plus kills every game and we still can win. im dying inside, help.
There is one more playstyle for reaper lurk and pounce this is where reaper hides and tries to get into 1v1s at close range cuz at that range 9 out of 10 hes going to win This is usually used against flankers in any mode or people out of position in escort, defend, and hybrid
I just playd rankd (i am silver) playd widowmakar got 11kils on atack was gold and what dos my team they say that i needto get cancar. on defens they go stand infront of there spawn and say that i was to far away and that i need to get cancar again what is this game. sorry for the grammer mistakes idk
