Kelpie’s are sure cute, they are normally pretty active aren’t they! I don’t recall ever seeing one here in the States. It’s great to see Dr Danni again, keep up the good work Doc!
but we gave our dog boiled hamburger an rice to help when he had diarrhea and it made it go away and also helped with him vomiting when he got sick. not fried, we had to boil it. then we'd strain the water.
The 'hamburger' this dog is being fed is loaded with grease and its probably extremely cheap(low quality) meat. My dogs eat a mix of chicken and rice with their dog food.
😅 my Maltese is also spoiled on my dada he eats what my data eat drink what my data drink and so my whole family do the same but we make sure just a little PC. Of what we have but if we're eating fruit or veggies he can have as much as he want
Oh my. That kelpie weighs more than my swiss white shepherd of 26kg. 😬 I understand that with some dogs keeping the weight off no matter what you do can be hard. We also have a beagle mix and its a constant struggle to keep that extra 1-2 kg off of her. But kelpies should really only weigh around 14-21 kg depending on the dogs size.

How can cats lose weight? My cat has gained 1kg in one year. We’ve tried everything. Please if someone could let us know! I recently commented about my other cat who has pica, but this other cat is very chunky. She nearly drags her tummy against the floor when she walks. My two cats were abandoned together. One cat was scronny and very thin, the other was very chubby. My other cat also has stress Alpicia. (Sorry if I spelt that wrong) please! Help! Thanks so much everyone ❤️
less food would be a good starting point(about a half cup in a day i think is what is the suggestion for cats needing to diet), probably feeding separate so no ones stealing food, and keeping the cat more active(lots of play, maybe harness training and taking cat on a walk if they like it, hydrotherapy if kitty is really that overweight) pica cat i wish you the best of luck with on cat proofing everything
there was an episode I think season 6 with Dr Chris Brown in it. he was helping a lady with a overweight ragdoll cat lost weight maybe see if you can find that episode (i don't remember which episode it is)
make sure the feeding is scheduled, feed your overweight cat seperate from others as they eat. ive seen cats exercise by putting them in a bucket with a treadmill thing and water, so you could also try that (along with the seperated feesing). make sure to go to a vet and ask for tests + scans to make sure that shes not gaining weight because of an illness
I would also recommend alongside what the other lovely repliers have already suggested, is to get some bloodwork and tests done. Sometimes, their thyroid is slow and prevents any pet from losing weight, alot like it can affect humans! If it is confirmed to be her thyroid, they can easily put her on some medication to control it so it can be alot easier for her to lose weight, as she wont be able to if her thyroid isnt treated if it is the case.
1. see a vet 2. get the food the vet prescribes and possibly meds after bloodwork comes back. 3. do NOT exceed the prescribed portion by a single gram, no treats and definitely no "cat milk" 4. exercise your cat. Get a cat lead and take her for walks. 5. Never leave food out. Give the meals at random times and never around your own meals. If she didn't finish her meal? Great! Just toss it back in the food bin! (don't add it to the next meal) Since you have another cat with inverse problems: feed them separately. (another reason why you should not leave the food out) 6. Buy ear plugs. For yourself. She won't like it at the start, but you HAVE TO ignore the cries if you want her to live!
