I can completly relate...i was so overwhelmed with my residency that i suffered burnout...i dragged myself through the hospital nd when came back just cudnt do anything...cudnt find pleasure in amything and it became a vicious circle till the end....hate clinical life...wanna shift to non- clinical but cant gather enough courage...i feel like its been a while ive felt any good feelings

Very good video. It's true that we're exposed to so many successful (and often young) people on social media which has made me feel stressed an behind in life for years... But the truth is that the majority of people are average and there's nothing wrong with being average

Thankyou for this. I have always been inconsistent and hated myself for it. Thankyou for your words. Also you should congratulate yourself for all your passion projects.. Most doctors find medical school and work very draining in itself.

I thoroughly enjoyed this thoughtful video. I love seeing people who have thinking brains and revise their ideas and modes of thinking over time. In the medium future, I could see you moving into medical journalism combining your medical knowledge and skills with your video editing and presentation skills. Time will tell.

The difference between enjoying the present vs some achieving the vision taken from what other people enjoy or seem too. You are you! My doctor told me he was going to train to be a surgeon but gave up after hearing that one of his hero surgeons he was trying to emulate went home one day for a rare opportunity to attend his daughters birthday party, and his daughter said "who are you?" As you know, many regret their choice of work ethic. Be happy!

The full quote is actually much more uplifting! "A Jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one" So keep on expanding your skillsets, there's no point in being really good at one thing at the expense of not being well-rounded or able to find joy in other things

@@drsurinataneja Bang on then, thats south off the Gordon River Road, I've hiked up Twelvetrees via Jacks Track which is on north side of Gordon River Rd and the view of Lake Pedder is similar. I might look at that one the next time I'm down there. Cheers

Thank you so much for this video. I’m a medical student and have the exactly same way of working/thinking. Do you think this a pattern in medicine? I wonder whether what medicine is advertised to be, is attractive to people that are jacks of all trades.

Possibly yes - I guess the expectation is to be pretty "well-rounded" from the time you apply to medical school. But generally it is the vast majority of us who won't ever "master" anything as so few of us truly dedicate the time/energy to one thing alone. Not a bad thing however, having multiple areas of interests/knowledge keep life exciting :)

Have talked a lot about this in my previous videos :) generally Aus is better QoL and higher pay, UK seems easier to get on to training programmes

No idea why folk think everything is possible. Maybe it because growing up their (usually wealthy) parents never allowed them to fail. Purchasing privilege and trying to keep their kids happy at all times.
