Is it assured it is going to the right people ?, I mean I lived in south sudan and I know that place is corrupted on every level, including organisations. I am just hoping it goes straight to the victims , they are hungry because the big men are taking money that is not theirs. Plus I did not get an email back from unicef afterwards. Just wondering and continue the good work brother ,it is opening eyes to those who needs to know.

Our first thought shouldn’t be how lucky and blessed we are. In our spoiled nations and lives that we live we already know. This should encourage EMPATHY for the plights of others in our communities and abroad. I’m so sick and tired of hearing the same tropes. How we are blessed and then thank our “God” but then do nothing for the suffering of others except watch from the comfort of our homes. Our words are hollow and meaningless and we have to do better. Our societies are sick and disconnected from the real world.

That's because mainstream media is not journalism, it is business. And their product is fear. To anyone with even a passing interest in this topic, I advise subscribing and parsing through a wide variety of news sources, both large, mainstay, 'legacy' media companies like those which are the first to come to mind such as 3-letter corporations, on both sides of the political spectrum (as news reporting is more partisan than ever despite its purported impartiality there is now very little to no attempt to conceal bias) as well as independent journalism, which (like Nick here) is possibly the last place to get a balanced view with no hidden agenda. Basically, if you're going to watch say CNN (one of the most blatant left-wing propaganda mouthpieces) then watch Fox as well. In fact most 'news' stations are openly left-leaning, with Murdoch and his companies being one of the only counterbalances to this trend remaining, so if you want to get both sides of a story read multiple sources. One story may be covered completely differently based on the source. As for independent reporting, Timcast and WeAreChange provide valuable insight, unbeholden to the political views and special interests of any groups or entities with overall ownership. I'm of course talking about the West here, in most of the rest of the world (particularly in theocratic, authoritarian, oligarchical, or military dictatorships) there isn't even an option as to the news one consumes, there is officially only state news and the viewpoints and stories they sanction, so yes, in that respect we are somewhat blessed, though it may not feel like it at times

@@hevnervals Sustain their current lifestyle? 1. Is this any kind of lifestyle any human would want to keep? 2. The donations are to provide Ready to Use Therapeutic Food, which is for children under the age of 5 who are severely malnourished - at risk of dying. These aren't bowls of chili and cornbread being handed out to adults. 3. I'm not a farmer, but learn to irrigate a flooded land? They are trying to keep the water from flooding the camp. And you think they need more water? From the UNICEF website: RUTF is the abbreviation for “ready-to-use therapeutic food”, a life-saving essential supply item that treats severe wasting in children under 5 years old. Wasting is defined as low weight-for-height and happens when someone has not had enough food or food of adequate quality. If not appropriately treated, wasting in children is associated with a higher risk of death. RUTF paste was invented by a French research scientist, André Briend, 25 years ago and became commercially available in the early 2000s. It is made from powdered milk, peanuts, butter, vegetable oil, sugar, and a mix of vitamins and minerals.

I have very little disposable income, but I donate what I can to his fundraisers and support Nick's patreon at $5 a month. Extra content for my favorite podcasts would be great and all, but he's out here literally saving the lives of children and creating top tier documentaries in the process. I hope more people will join so he can continue to travel to these places, shine a light on their struggles and get them much needed aid. It can't be cheap paying for the airfare, lodging, permits, security, local guides, rental cars, and whatnot all by himself.

you are naive. this is suffering to YOUR standard because you live in a civilization created by different people who have a higher standard. these people cannot live by those same standards. they arent "broken". if you build them castles and farms and infrastructure and give them all $1M each and left them to their own devices, this would be their future in a few years. a leopard cant change its spots. stop comparing them to higher civilization; they cant establish or maintain that standard. you could give gorillas a city too while youre at it; if you think their biological limitations mean nothing, and the only difference between them and people is poverty, then you have a WHOLE lot of learning to do. the same way gorillas cant build or maintain a small town of huts, is the same way these people cant build or maintain the standards of western(or eastern;asian) civilization.
