@@paranoir you are tasteless if you think soo theres no distint melody on this album at all, ive listend fron to back 3 times now its more like a atmosphere
And the magic of technology. Before you needed an actual band to play, and they all needed to be monsters to perform live... But now this is what a monster can do alone with a computer and a recording software.
Well said this is about one of my favorite albums of all time it really is something special and it inspires me I make my own music and he's really rubbed off
For the tablet/smartphone users: 00:00 - Groove of Satan 01:32 - Love Juice 05:46 - Rock is Too Heavy 10:44 - Saturday Ends 15:53 - Indian Explosion Bowling 18:04 - One Curl in Bangkok 22:09 - Born in Space 27:53 - Japanese Bonus Track
So much I could say about this album. This mans is a master of the key change and the deceptive progression for starters. Soundscape is mesmerizing, the hooks are all instantly iconic, and even with all the rich jazz chords there isn't a single moment that's too dissonant. The drops and grooves make me move every. single. time. It's the perfect blend of modern progressive rock and classic jazz/classical elements punctuated with the always welcome retro synths. Every single track is a banger. This is probably my favorite instrumental rock album of all time.
@@BurntMcgurnt uh okok i see, well that s a relief because if he knew less, i d leave guitar🤣🤣🤣🤣 what he does is extremely tough from the point of view of theory, requires a lot of study. Thanks for the info btw👌🏼
I love love love the intro to Born in Space. It's just so chill. And it only exceeds my expectations from there. Between artists like Intevals, Plini, Widek, Micic, The Helix Nebula, Owane, etc... (Dare I say it... even Polyphia...) There's never been a better time to be an instrumental/prog/fusion metal/metalcore jazz/djent/thelick-core/whateveryouwannacallit fan!
I just call it a fan of music my brother. Original is original. You can dance from those beautiful bands you mentioned to Meshuggah or Death very easily,or Al Di Meola and Herbie Hancock, or King Crimson and ELP. The best kind of music and the greatest emotions share the same thing, they cannot be described only experienced.
I don't get it.. What's the deal with Polyphia ? I think they're pretty awesome even amongst all the bands out there doing really crazy advanced stuff musically
this is pure gold. when tecnhique and emotion meet like this, music becomes a true spiritual experience, capable of taking your mind to so many places. We thank you for this perfect masterpiece
I love this album, some tracks have a very "japanese Jazz Fusion" feel to them, some sections even remind me of T-Square and Casiopea. I hope i'm not talking nonsense here...
My introduction to fusion was the original Chick Corea's Elektric Band album. I've been looking ever since for the next level of THAT specific album. Owane has provided this.
for about 4/5 months your 3 albums have become the soundtrack of my life ... I have never listened to so many times a single artist and never liked all the songs so much ... finished "geatest hits" listening " dunno ", finished dunno listening" yeah whatever "in a continuous cycle...thank you so much
My sunday does have a highlight. Multivitamin juice is too good. Jazzy smooth essential enriched multivitamins is so neccessary. I keep coming back so I can be injected with multivitamins. This is the best multivitamins in existence.
Discovered Owane via YT like 2 weeks ago, it's since been playing on repeat, even when it's not playing, this thing is addictive, in a good way, it gets in your head an affect your mood, respect Owane for sharing your compositions it's really inspiring.
I'd love to see a collab with Owane, josef 7, Tosin Abasi and Matt Gartska. Great album, Rock is too heavy is crazy good. Edit: Also evan brewer on bass
8 songs, 35 minutes long, and is probably the best music and the best album I've ever heard. Not only can he play multiple instruments incredibly well, he writes amazing music.
I've listened to this about 3 times now and tried to have it going in the background while surfing but it just grabs my attention, it's so brilliant. Owane really stands out from all the other shredders out there who can't compose a decent song. What a breath of fresh air.
yes...as a music pro and lecturer i am owane fan since the very beginning. bought all albums. to me one of the great geniusses of recent musictimes. hope the world will put this into perspective as outstanding composer- producer- musicianship and can honor it.. hope for more! carry on
@@Nofishnoclue Didn't get it either, so i googled and found this: "The Lick is a commonly used jazz lick (a stock musical pattern),[a] regarded as "the most famous jazz cliche ever".[2][3] It has been popularised as it is easily adaptable into all keys and modes and is heard in many famous pieces, including many non-jazz pieces.[4][5][1] It has been seen in adverts, such as in an "Injury Lawyers for You" advert and in the music on popular TV programmes, such as The Late Show. The Lick is now usually used for comedic effect,[b] as it has become "such as cliche" that musicians tend to only see it as an inside joke, so unironic performances are rare. The Lick is usually played over a ii°-V-i (minor-key) chord progression.[7][2]"
Hold on, lemme stick my face in the freezer for a minute before watching this to see if I can keep my face from melting. So good to hear new music from you! edit: it didn't work.
There's not a day I don't listen to at least one of your songs and listening to this has now made me happier than ever 😁🤙🏼 Love your transitions, grooves and production ❤️ ✌🏼😁🤘🏼
Fuck it, sue me. I LOVE OWANE. I've been listening to the guy all week, unbelievable music. He builds fantastic shapes with those guitar solos, what a great imagination. I've heard Owane do a few outside-y scale things I've never heard done before. Man, he is sooooo good. EVH sounds like red neon to me, Owane sounds like structures made of steel girders. Top quality writing, playing, recording, the whole deal. Love the variety of weird sounds that throw me off. Love the rhythmic diversity. LOVE THE GUITAR PLAYING. Soooooooo good.
Dude, all your albums are incredible, but this one stands out as a masterpiece. Your rate of development is shocking. Love the Holdsworth'ian synthe axe too!
Despite my main music of choice being deathcore/death metal, I love This style of music so much it's a nice breath of fresh air form all the gritty and darker forms of music that I gravitate twords. Good stuff.
SMOOTH as FUCK Many parts of this album remind me of racing game OSTs and make me intensely nostalgic (SEGA GT, Gran Turismo, Ridge Racer) 23:23 - 23:58 MAKES ME WANT TO DO THE CARLTON DANCE
