I'll never forget my deployment in 2013 with Operation Write Home. It was how I reminded my family and loved ones that even though I was far away I was always thinking about them. Fast forward three years later I thought I would look up Operation Write Home since I'm again deployed and still cherish the thought of a card and letter...I'm so sad to hear that OWH is no longer making or sending out cards. I honestly shed a couple of tears when I watched this. Thank you Sandy for bringing families closer during a hard time.
Hi Jo Guess, my name is Kyndal. I saw that you are in the military, I am a big fan and a big supporter and prayer warrior of the brave men and women in uniform. Hey Jo, hope you won't mind if I tell you this, I would just like to tell you "Thank You" for your wonderful service to our country, your service to our country is very much appreciated!! It's because of a brave service member like you that I can lay my head down in peace knowing that I don't have to be afraid cause I know that there is someone in uniform fighting to keep me safe. You are a wonderful hero. You have my total support and my prayers.
I was sad to see this program and so many others end. We're still here and will be here. I'm so happy when I come across leftover cards. Just thankful I was able to participate as a deployed troop.

I’d like to thank Sandy and each of you who contributed time and resources to make such wonderfully unique cards. I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot when I come across any of your cards here in Afghanistan…it’s 2018. My wife loves your cards, and I’ve been sending them to her and other family through multiple deployments when I’m blessed to come across them. We’re saving them to look back on after my time in the military is done. We have around 10,000 troops here still, and the internet and data connections here in our area are extremely slow making audio calls difficult and video calls impossible. That being said, the cards you all made are still boosting morale when we can get the mail team here to pick up our mail…about every 30-60 days or whenever we can send mail with anyone going to a larger base. Your efforts are still making a positive impact. Thank you so much. You made a difference and are making a difference. God bless you! A Deployed Troop
Great and informative report, Sandy. I'm happy to hear you donated leftover finances to the USO...my son (Army) is in the Middle East right now and the USO put on a great Christmas party for the servicemen where he is deployed. It meant a lot to him and the others (and to me, too, since we can't have him home with us). I sure do miss making cards for OWH but am so grateful I got to be a small part of such a huge-hearted endeavor. God bless you and all my fellow card-makers!!! And our troops and their families!
Fortunately I've never ever experienced 'War Time' in my life... Doesn't mean I'm not sadly aware of its toll on Nations that have been in such daring position. Been following OWH and I do believe you've all sent, along with the cards, love, prayers, moments of joy. Shared a sense of belonging, being care of, generosity and kindness. Amazing. Congratulations!
I am active duty, I love watching videos of people making cards for OWH and I have been inspired on many levels by OWH. I'm sorry to see this program end as it is a great service, but many things are changing in the world. Thank you so very much for everything you have all done, and I hope you're blessed in your future endeavors!
