@@FeeeebleVT if you sing along with it you realize its the backing vocals.Adam in the original version sings the higher part at the beginning along with another of his voice track doing the lower part.this version has the lower part leaving you or persons to sing the higher part and during the chorus which is the harmony. Like i mentioned above i had the option to upload the instrumental without backing vocals or with and choose with. now there is countless versions.

No, it's your opinion but Adam makes his music so magical with it's lyrical charm of his exceedingly expressive gift that is released upon us as the beauty of his wonderfully vibrant words melt our ears so it really makes me bonder how you prefer it without that magic
my choir sang this for the school talent shown and I loved it so much I had to ask the music teacher and she said it was firefly's and I just love the song!!!
I was in choir a couple years ago, before I transferred to a chior deprived school, and the year before me did this song and made choreography with flashlights. IT WAS SO COOL.
This is really good... Might be even better than original. Even some of the words that are sang in this are better and on a higher pitch. Like when he says "planet earth," he sings it from like high to low pitch which I don't think he does in the original... Or if he does u can't hear it.
My favourite part is 2:09 - 2-31 when there is a short pause and there is soft laughter afterwards at 2:09 it's so nostalgic. And then the main riff that you can hear at the very beginning of the song emerges from underneath the cello and violin and bass lines at 2:11 and then the "as they said a farewell" echoes back to you at 2:19 and it's just so magical. This song hits me so hard it's not even funny.
true. For me it's like the past has said farewell to us but encourages us to look into the future and be amazed by its possibilities, because everything is never like it seems at first sight.
I swear the backing lyrics were BEAUTIFUL. I love this! Thanks so much for putting this up. Like, this is better than the official instrumental without the backing lyrics... its just sad and emotional. Which is why I would say it is after all, beautiful, or a great instrumental! :D
I love this song, and always wanted to hear all the different interweaving parts but couldn't because of the voice. Now I can enjoy it both ways. Thanks so much; I listen to this version all the time!

@xiopmioxjo exactually. i think there is an instrumental with just the music but i rather this one having him as the background vocals on some parts makes it unique to me anyway
