Side pressure is something that takes a long ass time to build, those inner elbow tendons build very slowly and they dont like being overtrained. Seriously though, if Artem had hooked juji instead of toprolling him in the bottom 8, he could have clean sweeped him.
@@timdoonan5898 Nah, I think his real power is by far his lats. Lats are utilized much more in the straps compared to out of the straps, which is why he does so well in the straps. Also, Janis said his back pressure (bicep) was really weak.
@Luke yeet a very mature response to a comment online, you're the parasite in the comment section everybody knows has a shitty personality and has failed so much in life they vent their anger in the comment section where they hide their identity
Yeah they didn't seem too into it! Maybe just jetlagged or having one of those weeks. I did hear on the podcast that they're a bit fed up with being made to armwrestle all the time, but.. I mean it's not like they're being forced. And I for one don't expect them to perform great all the time. Hopefully they can start having more fun again soon!
I think a loop around the wrist to bypass the hand and lighter weight would've helped the newer guys figure out where side pressure should be originating. But you can also tell that Juji and especially Tom were way torched. Enjoyable video though =)
Love the content Ryan! Keep pushing it! :) (ps love the podcast) And big congrats to Juji & Tom in general, you're amazing! (you've introduced me to sooo many variations of strength sports, only deepening my general curiosity)
You sure know how to cut a promo! Another great video as usual! Awesome content! I Love what you're doing for the sport and I hope you keep it going for a long time!
Seriously I think Jujimufu did the grip test better than everyone, and it was he supported his upper body weight with his straight arm. Maybe he wasn’t even aware of that. His palm was bent backward as in bench press position. The hand and wrist should be inline with each other, aka straight/flat wrist
To be honest a bit disappointed in Tom & Juji's downer attitudes and lack of respect shown on this one. How often have they made some of their guests in the past do weird grip exercises or arm wrestling (completely out of their comfort zone). Yet for the most part their guests were true professionals and participated with enthusiasm and just rolled on with the show. Here they're obviously being big grumps and overall diminishing the atmosphere of the event. I expected better of them, perhaps egos getting a bit too inflated. Props to Ryan and the other guests though, they at least showed some enthusiasm for the video.
Honestly Brother, they were super tired and sore from their epic trip and this was literally the last thing they did before heading to the airport. Mostly I think it was my bad for giving them an angle that emphasized their soreness. Really loved spending the few days with them, and had an absolute killer time.
I don't think it is a matter of egos. Whoever has practiced some armwresteling in life knows it hurts a lot when you're beginner, and they are still newbies in the sport. I think they were too sore, especially Tom. On top of that a flight from USA to Aus is not an easy trip. I think the video was super natural and they didn't pretend to show something that were not feeling. Even though they has their arms destroyed, they tried the side pressure, which is the most painful technique.
Pound for Pound Armwrestling I hope that is right(not saying it is not). Because they could be interpreted as a little negative IMO. Maybe they where trying to be funny, but where too tired to deliver. One can see Juji seems a bit out of it when trying the side pressure machine.
@VinceMcmahon no... warm up starts with no weight or 5/10kg maximum. Do you ever see like benchpressers who can bench 300kg, warming up with 150kg ?? That whats Ryan is doing.... and to make it worst, he let these guys "warm up" with almost their max effort.... like juji and tom
I have been arm wrestling for less time than Juji and I can do 35kg on the exact same machine with a 3" handle and I claim that I have no sidepressure and primarily use back pressure when arm wrestling. I win all my matches with a big lat drag and back pressure as I drop backwards and put them in to the pad. A friend of mine is 85kg bw and started arm wrestling when I did and he can do 40kg but it doesn't actually translate to the table as my friend has never beaten me and my back pressure feels so much stronger than his side pressure. Also those sidepressure exercises fuck up my elbow big time. Once I let the weight go after a 1 rep max my elbow kills.
Would of been nice if you told us the weights you where pulling , ( subtitle ) , just so i could say that i am actually stronger than every god dam one of ya . 40kg last week :)
@@ryanbluebowen One single cable connected to 40 kg , so i presume that would be around 42.5 kg at the hand if you take friction + Apparatus , this is with the wrist wrench thumb over . :)
