Hmmm. A political tool using a cigar as a stage prop. Sounds a lot like a a former US President, no? RE: Define what "is" means... Otherwise, the vocals were almost barbershop quality - even a couple of faint overtone pops in there if you noticed?
"Turn around, Miles!" Hilarious! And to those who don't 'get' this humor, I'll just say growing up in a southern state, I knew every one of these stereotypical characters, and these guys nailed them all! All the while with a deadly comedic timing and delivery, flawless bluegrass picking skills, and scary good harmonies! Incredible!
One of the most original, hilarious, and soulful things I've seen in ages. These guys have it all. How the algorithm could take me from Mono Neon and Ghost Note to this is beyond my ken, but I am so grateful. Superb! Hint: You haven't lived until you've seen them cover Walk like an Egyptian..
Well, that's the really cool thing about bluegrass. Gotta' love it. Ever since it evolved out of traditional Celtic folk music & beyond the restrictive "Old Timey" roots-'rules', it has not ceased to evolve, experiment, expand, & innovate. All great music & musicians must do this, must progress, or we'll all end up with 3-chord, 1-key, 4/4-time, regressively-dumbed-down-hard, pop-bubblegum BS-tunes, & nothing else. Horror show, man....
So who started this whole bluegrass cover trend...was it Hayseed Dixie? Cleverlys? Gourds? I don't care...they are all talented and make great music regardless whether it's original or somebody else's \m/
Iron horse has been out for years..the gourds did gin and juice then they started popping up everywhere..honestly the talent in this is so much better than the originals
Brilliant! I would have loved if they had added the drum fill and the guitar solo from the YES original. That would have been like the frosting on a nice cake.
