Yes, I agree Joey. And also appreciate your feedback. I think we learnt a bit from that video and the production quality has since improved. I'll do another car review at some point and hopefully you'll see some development.
I've been driving my A2 1.6 FSI for 17yrs and love her too. She still has a working open sky sun roof which is quite rare apparently. The head gasket went recently and I paid the €1K to get it fixed because these cars are now appreciating in value and being recognised as design classics. How did you open the fuel flap when the button didn't work? Thankfully I haven't had that problem but I'm curious, just in case 😏
That's great, Jennifer. It sounds like you've got a good one. Yes, I sometimes wish I didn't sell mine - quite often when I try to park my Volvo V70. I sometimes look for A2s online and I think the price of these little cars is rising. So you could do well to hold on to yours. Also, I can't remember if I did ever open the fuel flap again as the button broke around the last time I filled the car up. But if I did, I guess I would have stuck something like a screwdriver in the hole where the button once was. Sorry I can't be more helpful on that.
There's a panel in the boot on the right hand side behind the tail light which pops off - if you feel around in there you'll find a lever with the release cable attached. Push it down the way and flap will pop open.
Hi @EL Gee, I just saw your reply. I'm not sure what the exact cause of the fire was. I can tell you the fire occurred in the engine bay. We actually noticed it when we stopped for petrol and saw an orange glow under the bonnet. We put the fire out with water and the car wouldn't start after that so we had to get it towed and repaired. I'm not sure if the A2 has a reputation for catching on fire or not but I did see this article which demonstrates I'm not the only one who has experienced an A2 fire: www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/motorist-escapes-unhurt-as-her-audi-a2-1217250
@@vanholland7787 Best wishes for the Volvo. Im sure you will miss the A2, I sometimes think on selling mine too, but to be honest I dont think I will find a more pratical, economical and reliable car than this one. Though I agree the ride confort and long trips confort could be better.....
@@tomasguedes5657 Thanks, Tomas. The Volvo is great but has really hit my back pocket. But there is definitely something a bit special about the A2. It was perfect for smaller trips and I agree, it would be difficult to beat in terms of practicality and affordability, combined with build quality and character, at such a reasonable price point. Maybe I'll get another one day. And wish you all the best with yours!
