Owner's Spotlight: Omomuki's Carbon 930 Porsche [4k]

At long last, the day has come ^__^ Thank you all for your patients!
At my first ever Tokyo Auto Salon, I fell in love with this 930 Porsche 911. Besides the wild Lamborghini doors that stood out among the crowd, and the beautiful custom titanium exhaust, virtually every panel had been replaced with carbon fiber. You know.. similar to Blackbird from the famous Wangan Midnight manga. I had to know more!
Fast forward three years later, the stars finally aligned for Koichi Takuma, the owner, Akira Funahashi, the builder and owner of Studio Allica, and myself to meet up and get a proper shoot done.
So this time on Tokyo Tuner, sit back and relax as we dive into the mind of Koichi-San, and discover why he decided to transform his 930.

The wing shaped hood adds space to the engine bay so a radiator can be fitted above the engine. The pillars are also aur intakes positioned behind the rear quarter for additional cooling. The design is based on the 993 GT2 wing which was an evolution of the 964 3.8 RS wing

As the video ended, I caught myself thinking "they got the right mindset over there", while dreading that I'm in a "bruh bruh, do a burnout" society where you will most likely never find someone saying "Turbos are great, but I know I don't have enough skills". Top Gear level intro btw, looking forward to the next one.

I love cars, and especially Porches but I cannot afford to drive fancy high powered cars. Thus I do not know how to drive one. But that turbo parts peaked my interest. What makes driving a turbo car different that you would need different skills?

@@twan251010005100080 Depending on the HP produced, when it spools up you have to manage an extra power surge that can easily make you lose traction. Then there's a whole slew of settings you need to be very careful with to not "go boom".

@@twan251010005100080 it really depends on how the tune is, how much power, etc etc as mentioned before. The previous owner of my Skyline had the boost just dump in asap because he was drifting / gymkhana it so he wanted the power. When driving it on normal roads / mountain roads, it was just ridiculous. So I had to re tuned to be more 'linear'

Wow!! It looks stunning in carbon fibre. I'm not sure it needed the trick doors, but I'd admire someone who has a vision and sees it through. I love the yellow headlights against the black and the crazy spoiler arrangement at the back.

At first, I was 'No, No, Nope' and then it was 'yes...., please may I have more!' I think it was the inside of the doors and roof air vent. Now, it's the whole damn thing! Stunning!

I followed this guy when he had his car for 4 years already, and since time of this interview up to now 2021 he has changed a few things in his porsche but keeping it almost overall identical, like a real porsche,I love your videos BTW TT keep it up

Beautiful build and amazing work! Just for clarity; the engine currently in the car is a normally aspirated motor (looks to be a 3.2 liter Carrera motor). Big tell is no intercooler. Still gorgeous!

Very nicely shot, loved the story and the car itself. Keep it up! Just one thing to nag about: "930" is only used for the turbo, so technically it's a regular G-Model. (But a very cool one!)

Awesome video, my recommendation for improvement would be to take more footage of the car driving from the exterior. You reused a lot of the footage 2-3 times so it wasn’t exciting to watch farther in

Thank you for watching and for the advice! It was really fn hot in Kyoto so we didn't want to be out filming all day. When it came time to do the driving shots, we were running hella low on time. That's when I had the brilliant idea to try and use my new rig that clearly needs more tuning so all that footage was basically garbage :( my bad

I may start including a section in the descriptions of more specs. The stories are about the owner and the car and not really the specs that built them. A lot of the owners don't remember all the stuff they done when being asked.
