I mean, it is true you can’t live rent free, but there are a tenant landlord rules that state if the conditions or deplorable and unlivable you can withhold rent until they fix them all up that looks quite deplorable to me
@@pepperonipizza7633 be with you 100% but the law does state if repairs aren’t made in the conditions or deplorable you can withhold rent until those repairs are made now they have the 45,000 and they made the repairs so now they’re telling these truckers to get out which he has the right to do
I mean if the cops would arrest the drug users and dealers and lock the. Up in a prison without access to drugs maybe we could fix a lot of issues but ppl like you just blah blah blah
Well. So… you in a way can. There are rules that say you can withhold rent if the landlord doesn’t do upkeep on the property. I guess the question is who did the bad thing first. The landlord not fixing stuff or the person not paying.
@@hobbes7460 That's the truth, You can't spend money to fix an apartment building when nobody pays rent. People think drugs are better than paying rent lol
It’s not extra money when all you’re doing is holding off paying until the owner/landlord fixes what’s broken. When the ac went out last summer in my apt complex, there were 120 tenets without working ac starting in the summer months! Do you think we should have paid for the 6 months that the ac was out?
I was delighted to see her doing that XD I was like' Get 'er, shes prancing so daintily after her- Ha You cant get away - she gonna get cha : D Now thats fine reporting!!! Cheers!!
I worked as security before it went to shit, property managers let anyone willing to pay move in, not checking to see if they even had a income. Obviously it moved in drug dealers, then came gangs and the druggies. Non stop foot traffic to units that were selling. Management would not evict them troubled units because they would pay on time, even with multiple people already trespassed from problematic units
they are only doing what the law allows...don't like this? change how you vote to get the laws changed. mistakes happen, but welfare and grifting should not be allowed to be a way of life. if they cannot take care of their kid(s), take the kid(s) away from that environment and make the bad parent work to support them until they can care for the kid on their own. stop further unwanted pregnancies by putting birth control in her arm if the mother is on public support. also, the fathers need to be found and held responsible for care. development of a male birth control has to be funded to help curtail this problem, too.
So now that the repairs have been made in accordance to the city/county regulations, all the tenants have to do is to pay their rent with all of the money that they saved all of those months by not paying rent. They must have tens of thousands saved up. In many eviction cases where the tenant withholds rent payments due to repairs not being made, the judge will ask them “if the repairs are made, do you have the money to pay the rent?” Often times the answer is NO and the eviction proceeds….or at least they used to.
And you know they didn't, probably wasted it on brand name shoes, eating out, buying 20" wheels for their hoopties. You know NOT a single one of those people has any financial smarts.
I wouldn’t even be involved with a slumlord in the first place. You guys obviously like it there you’re staying there and not paying rent. Why don’t you Just leave then🤔..must be liveable conditions huh!!😂🤮You guys are basically homeless encroaching on another persons property without paying
@@meganwynn372 typically, the more money a person has the less children they have. Why is that? And what does this have to do with someone saving me? That’s irrelevant.
How is one supposed to make repairs while there's annoying tenants all up in the way?? Eviction then do repairs.. once done rent for market value and let them get first choice at refurbished units.. then we all see if they real or just want free rent
The complex is in shambles because the owners have not received any rent money to make repairs? What's the problem? Call in the sheriff's department and "Sweep Out the Squatters"!
Company took in over $300K in Pandemic subsidy funds, did very little if anything, and only got a $45K fine. You can thank poorly regulated capitalism for this- what a racket.
Famously the program was called PAYROLL PROTECTION PROGRAM. so if you had to guess, where do you think the company spent the money? Probably on payroll to keep their employees employed. It was never a program to remodel a apartment building lol
@@Diesel437 You must be confusing the video with another one, or you didn't watch or understand it. This has NOTHING to do with remodeling, but with bring up the apartments to compliance with code satisfying Nevada law. Rent can be withheld when apartments are below code minimums- so these folks remained getting paid for doing NOTHING.
@@Mlogan11 first off, you’re not very bright. Secondly, you said they took in over $300k in pandemic subsidy. That subsidy government program during the pandemic was called the payroll protection program meant to help companies keep employeees employed and not for use in remodeling or bring up to code compliance for any building. So as long as they used the subsidy money to pay employees payroll so they didn’t have to fire them, they absolutely used the money for its intended purposes. Instead the bums that have been living there rent free should take their supposed saved up rent money and money somewhere up to code. Or do you think they don’t want to pay rent anywhere?? I think the latter.
@@Diesel437 Learn to read and understand. They were NOT entitled to funds for NOT doing their job. Their JOB is to maintain the apartments to the right code, not operate like slum lords with substandard apartments. They were NOT entitled to any government aid to make repairs because they are RESPONSIBLE for it by Nevada law. So you are okay with slumlords still getting paid for neglecting their property? Figures. If you took the time to actually try to think, you'd see that they are still required to make the repairs and the fine given was for NOT making the repairs but still taking the money- but this must be too complicated for you to understand.
The bad thing about this for the tenants there the judge and anyone is going to ask the big question if you've been staying there for months without paying rent because the owners was at fault what did all that money go to y'all should have that money saved up already and have moved out but if you didn't moved out then you're okay with the conditions of that place but of course you're going to use someone else's downfall to justify why you need to stay there the judge is not going to Grant y'all anything because he's going to realize how long y'all been there without paying rent and first thing is going to come to mind these people have enough money to save and get out of there if they was really in a bad situation free room and board does not get a stay
@@hermeskino711 i own nothing, in fact i grew up in the ghetto i have first hand experience with this behavior. People in these areas are like human coca roaches. All they want is free free free. There is no motivation or discipline in these people. They will never pay just collect ebt
The owners need to be in jail. They were given money to fix the apartment and they didn’t, the renters are due a check for living in deplorable conditions. And I don’t blame them for staying and not paying rent. They need to save up to fund another place to rent that is managed properly. Clearly the apartment owners are not providing what is required for the residents. What they have done by misappropriating those funds they were given and trying to force the tenants to pay for things that are not their responsibility is coming back to haunt them. No one will rent from them now. They got a bad reputation and they brought it in themselves.
I wonder when the American economy stops spending money in Las Vegas and everyone loses their jobs because the economy is so bad that nobody will have time to visit Las Vegas because bills come first rather than to visit Las Vegas and give away money they can't afford to spend away, what is Las Vegas going to do about out rages unemployment at 16.0 ?
Soon all poor people and workers WILL be homeless and it be “their fault”! We could solve this and more if conservatives all worked for minimum wage! Come on republicans!! Step up and help us. For god and country!!
I lived there too back then too (I worked next door at Madison Avenue) and it wasn't great, but it was nothing like it is now. Back in the 1960's all those apartment buildings in the Twain/Swenson area was where cooks, cocktail waitresses and casino dealers lived and was actually a decent neighborhood. The city needs to bulldoze the entire area from the Strip to Maryland and Flamingo to D. I. and tear it all down and build decent, affordable apartments for casino workers and their families.
@@DaveonGrave What city is that? Since this is in unincorporated Clark County it would be on them. I do think that there should be a public/private enterprise to do as you say, build affordable housing for those who work on the Strip. Places like Jackson Hole, Aspen and other expensive towns have done just that, specific housing for workers.
hopefully the courts make these squatters leave. if not, it'll set a bad precedent. it doesn't matter how bad the conditions are. if you're not paying, you deserve to get kicked out.
Stop whining pay rent and you won’t get evicted I don’t know why people thinks they can live for free and then say they won’t pay rent cause the conditions if you don’t pay rent how do they expect them to make repairs.
In california you can withhold rent if you have a slumlord. My ant was withholding rent from her landlord becuase he wasn't fixing anything even the bathtub was caving in. The landlord took her to court and my ant told the judgs ill pay every single cent I owe if this man fixes everything I ask him to fix and the judge cited with my ant. My ant paid all the back rent in a single check when he fixed all the complaints.
This! But the thing is it seems these people have spent that money instead of saving it until repairs were made OR saving it to move. But they can’t afford anything higher than whatever they pay there so they stay there spend their rent money and are now crying about being evicted. You can’t live anywhere for free!
Oh boy these elite women in there pretty dresses. After this they will be working on getting the best reservations at dining and events. Look how pretty they are! Pfffft. We need reporters!!!!!
@@Lobonova in 2014 I purchased a ¼ acre lot for 5k , just an empty lot, I worked on it all summer cleaning it up and installing a fence around it, the taxes are 80$ year and I lived there in my RV for 2 years, saving every penny I made to purchase the home I live in now.. there are ways if you're willing to sacrifice, I still own that property today and have turned down offers as high as 30k to purchase it, my sister is currently living there in her rv saving to buy a home
Out apartment complex did a full upgrade/overhaul two years ago. They refuse to rent to anyone who looks like the folks in this video. At first I thought it was wrong, but honestly, there is no crime, no loud music, no drug dealing, and the residents look out for each other.
This is Sin City. The proof shows in the endless news reports and when you see it for yourself in real life. This city is so filled with greed and dishonesty that there's video proof of a business not complying with what they promised to abide by, that same legal system said hey Nevermind all the violations of the law give us $45k and all will be dismissed. That company that violated the law had families to answer to. Now the same company that didn't abide by laws is surprised when their tenants dont abide by laws. Sin City at its finest. This is crazy and watch other humans will justify this. Good luck everybody
Solution.. eminent domain, city converts to affordable housing after making updates! Don’t do these greedy landlords any favors by evicting tenants so they can sell!
