OWNERS - UNDERVERSE SEASON 2 - Prologue 

*IN CASE YOU DON'T GET SOMETHING* During one of the Genocide Runs, at the end of the battle with Sans, when Frisk had to make the final hit, Sans dodges and kills them. This causes an anomaly in the timeline, the save file is damaged and the timeline starts anew, erasing everyone's memories, including Frisk's. Their world is no longer part of the Original Universe, now it is an Alternate Timeline. Now only Sans and Flowey remember what happened. Sans didn't forget his memories because it was him who broke the timeline. That's why he became the "Owner" of the timeline, because he could remember and that way change its course. He could manipulate others, as Flowey said, but he didn't do it. Huge responsibility and guilt for the murder of his friend in the past put a big pressure on him, so he decided to tell Frisk about everything. Frisk and Sans (and possibly Chara) made a promise to each other. Now there are 2 "Owners". But there was only one obstacle - Flowey, who also remembered everything. They went to talk to him, but in the end they decided to get rid of him, since he would cause some problems. - All this occurs before Underverse 0.0. Now about Gasters. XGaster came to original Gaster, but the scientist only told him that he feels sorry for him because he's obsessed with perfectionism and the desire to do something better, that his plan for an ideal universe was unsuccessful from the very beginning and he will fail (the gesture that Gaster shows with his hands means "failure"). However, XGaster doesn't want to hear about this, he still can't accept criticism, because selfishness and self-confidence don't let him think straight. He can't accept that the “bright future” that he has been desperately striving for so long will be his mistake. XGaster leaves furious. - happens either before, or during episode 0.1, or even later, but surely after the ending of XTale X. *Owners references in Underverse:* 0.1: 1) When Sans gets hit with the ball, for a millisecond he sees a conversation between two Gasters (this is why I think this conversation occurred during 0.1). 2) Frisk: "We made a *promise*, right? But, if anything really bad happens... I have to reset..." Sans: "DON'T". 0.2: 3) Sans is talking with Cross about 2 Gasters. 0.3 Part 1: 4) Sans recognizes Swap!Chara and his eye starts glowing. 0.3 Part 2: 5) Sans sees his brother's death when Swap!Papyrus is about to get killed by XChara. Previously, this didn't make sense, because according to the canon, all the characters (including Sans) don't remember what happened before the reset. However, it's now clear that due to the fact that the Sans' timeline was broken by him, he remembered the Genocide. Now that makes sense. 6) XChara: “You only wanted to stop the creation of timelines and then all this happened. You're still suffering even with a "Happy ending". That got His attention. Your timeline is not exactly as it should be.". Sans gets Genocide flashbacks. Sans' timeline actually was supposed to be Genocide, but because of a mistake, it became Pacifist. 0.4: 7) XChara: "...Just one world with the best of the others. Just one Universe...". Sans: "I don't care...! I already have enough tension at home..." 8) Outer!Sans: "Anyone is always welcome. After all, I'm not the *owner* of this world." Sans: "Not until you become it by *accident*." Sans became the "Owner" of his timeline by accident, odds against him were 9 million to one. *Underverse references in Owners:* During Flowey's jumpscare you can see some characters in the background: 1) Geno (while he is still Sans) holding a syringe with Determination 2) Party in Sans' timeline from XTale X 3) Core!Frisk walking out in the distance 4) Outer!Sans killed by Killer 5) Swap!Sans and Fell!Sans killed by XGaster 6) XChara screaming "IT'S NOT FAIR!!" 7) Killer crying (?) with black substance 8) Dead XFrisk from XTale VII 9) Fatal_Error's strings 10) Someone from XTale (supposedly Cross) XGaster says that he would like to apologize for what his experiment has caused and he will take care of fixing everything himself. He said similar things in the very beginning of 0.4. When Flowey says "YOU CAN'T SAVE YOURSELF" it may mean that Sans can't save his mind/soul etc. or that he couldn't save Outer!Sans, Swap!Sans and Fell!Sans in 0.4. Also except for dead Sanses there also are another versions of Sans from other Alternate Timelines in the background during the jumpscare, such as Geno, Killer and Fatal_Error. Those Sanses couldn't save "themselves", their "myself", becoming another person. Geno's and Killer's timelines were broken by Genocide, just like the timeline of original Sans. So Flowey could mean that Sans is trying in vain to live like he's still the "original" Sans, because in the end he won't be able to save himself and will become another anomaly, how it always inevitably happened to others.

I love how XGaster went from this smart, sophisticated guy, then to acting almost child-like and stubborn, ignoring a wiser version of himself to blindly follow a fantasy that will obviously end in his demise. It adds a spin of desparation to the character that i dont think gets enough credit.

Soooo i would like to tell you my theory about this. It was a normal genocide route but at the end where sans falls asleep and frisk/chara kills him they couldn't and sans killed them instead that was the first time something like that happened SO that timeline became Sans's . also in underverse 0.4 outer says "I'm not the owner of this world" Sans Says "not until you become it by accident" that proves it. So then in a pacifist timeline Sans was still suffering then he couldn't take the responsibility and told frisk about what happened. Also in underverse 0.3 part 2 when xchara and sans were talking, xchara says "you are still suffering even with a happy ending" "Your Timeline is not exactly as it should be" then sans sees his hand in blood (just like in the owners) Oh also, in xtale VIII (Mettaton) XGaster says He needs to visit some "places" which connects with xchara saying "You are still suffering even with a happy ending.. that got HIS Attention" So i believe Xgaster was watching That timeline Sans created, he knows what is going on in that timeline. They killed flowey and maybe Xgaster will Overwrite flowey and use it against frisk (in underverse s2 opening we can see omega flowey) Edit: New theory XGaster and UT!Gaster must have met before because they seem they knew each other and we know XGaster somehow learned how to create artificial determination. I think he learned it from UT!Gaster because UT!Gaster is also someone who ALWAYS watches maybe he is using artificial determination as well. XGaster was also watching the multiverse thanks to XChara's Determination so they must have met during that time. In underverse 0.1 at the volleyball scene when sans falls down he saw 2 figures looking at him (XGaster & UT!Gaster) later on 0.2 He tells cross about it Second edit: ANOTHER THEORY In 0.1 Frisk tells Sans " *We made a promise* right? but if anything really bad happens.. I have to reset.. Sans *this isn't the first time* You're about to..." So i think whatever that "promise" is it contains Frisk,Chara,Sans and maybe Flowey and according to the "Owners" I think flowey somehow broke that promise and then they made him pay. When there's the Flowey jumpscare, a lot of people appear, such as Outer bleeding, Killer crying black, Fell and Blue getting their souls shattered, XChara screaming (Probably the IT'S NOT FAIR!! part), a part where we probably see XFrisk, strings that resemble Fatal_Error's, Geno holding a determination syringe (Thanks to ShadowNight30 and Dreamy Dandelions for pointing that out!!!) and Cross..... Huh.... *theory mode intensifies* Bonus: There's also Frisk's birthday party, that appeared in XTale X Bonus pt2: Core!Frisk also appears!! Thanks Yousef Mohammed and Izzy Spell for also pointing that out!!

I'm glad it's finally shown that other Gasters aren't okay with what XGaster is doing. It was something that most people accepted, but being shown that, really solidifies it.

2:14 characters during Flowey jumpscare: -Probably Geno before his fight with Frisk -Classic Sans friends in a party (probably a one where he lost a game) -Core Frisk (because their Sans was responsable for their current state) - Outer Sans getting kill. - Fell and Swap Sans also getting kill. - XChara in the It's not fair scene. (Beacause he's possesing cross body) -Killer Sans crying. -A dead body (probably XFrisk in the XII time-line) -Fatal Error. -And finally, Cross crying too.

Geez. I'm so used to XGaster that suddenly seeing our Gaster was kinda shocking in how different they look, even before XGaster basically melted himself

The gaster interaction is like two artist sharing eachothers creations, and one is a bit too cocky while he other can see’s its flaws

So basically: -Sans managed to wake up in time during the final battle in the Judgement hall and he won (by killing Frisk).That lead to them receiving the power to control the save files and he became the new owner of the timeline (basically the new player?).Frisk (and Chara) lost all of their memories from the Genocide timeline and basically became like the others (normal npcs if you will - can't remember resets and can't control anything , just pawns in the big game). -He had some innocent fun with that power and eventually started a Pacifist timeline (the current one where they are on the surface). -He decided that being the only one who can control all of this was wrong so he informed Frisk (and Chara) about what was going on + gave them half (or all) of the power back. -They all agreed to not do a Genocide timeline EVER but Flowey eventually got bored of it (cus he is Flowey) and suggested a Genocide timeline.Frisk and Sans refused and when Chara refused as well (since they are a Pacifist Chara - haven't experienced the pleasure that EXP and LV bring/wren't corrupted) , Flowey got really mad cus they (Chara) weren't supporting them and it lead to him being killed (most likely revived afterwards , they just wanted to show him their dedication to the promise that was made). -Underverse Gster visited the orignial/Undertale Gaster in The Void and asked him for help (probably wanted to use his timeline for his interesting experiments) but Gaster refused. X!Gaster got annoyed and decided to start messing up the timeline until Gaster (and the others) decided to cooperate and that is where Season 2 starts. *TLDR: Sans got admin powers , X!Gaster is salty and will try to grief the server in season 2* Edit: Pinned comment did much more digging and their theory is actually the better and more accurate one. This was more of a rant than anything else.

I really like this interpretation of UT Gaster... It takes a twist on the 'Omnipresent Fanon'. (UT Gaster in Underverse shows a sense of wisdom and eerie sense of knowledge) I also agree with UT Gaster: XGasters plan of a perfect Universe is fundamentally flawed and doomed for failure. Man... Man! I really love the XGaster's design, the outfit and that air of imponence. But I need to say... The Original Gaster here was lotta more scary... How can I explain? His simplicity in the empty look and gestures passes the ideia he's lotta stronger AND wiser than XGaster.

But then again, we already knew that XGaster does not take well to criticism. We're really starting to see that petulant 'my writing isn't bad you're just mean' side to him despite his outwardly 'proper' mannerisms. Unfortunately, it seems that people are going to suffer needlessly as a consequence to his tantrums. I get this sinking feeling that XGaster is going to take it upon himself to start trying to 'improve' other timelines and such like he tried with his own.

I love how they are both hella creepy, but in totally different ways. Like, X-Gaster’s appearance just screams "I am spooki, I am creepi", and he really is. But, on the other hand, the OG-aster (yeah, this do be a pun) looks... unsettling. Like, a true "uncanny valley" example for me. No scary faces, no threats, almost no movement or emotions at all. Just like emotionless Ink, but even more. And it’s hard to tell what’s worse.
