I rode for 1:40 yesterday (1/31/24) and this is the longest I’ve been on my Harley since my accident this last April. It was 50 degrees and my back is not as fully recovered as I thought. I need to get back into “Riding shape” before our planned trip to Red River New Mexico over Memorial Day weekend. Speaking of spending, I have new rear suspension that arrived on Monday….😁

We have a great HOG chapter where I am. We meet at the dealership every Sunday morning and/or Thursday evening and put on a couple of hundred miles. We also manage one long haul multi day group trip each year. I’ve made some great riding friends. And, I just traded my Road King in on a 2024 Road Glide. Will be getting some good touring in this year. this year. 😊

Riding a motorcycle has to be one of the best ways to open up, and become a more social person. When I tell non riders about the social aspect, they think I’m nuts. “You’re alone on a bike, with a helmet, about anti social as possible!!” I shake my head, you just don’t know until you ride a motorcycle….. As far as the expense, It’s what you want it to be. My bikes are both nearly bone stock, bought used. I believe new riders can get into riding at a low cost, and older riders can keep it inexpensive if they so desire.. Great video Ty!

I own a 2017 SGS that I paid $22k and have $36k in it total. I messed up when I chased HP/Torque, then had to upgrade the stereo to keep up. Not a part on the bike I haven’t touched. Swapped every bolt to chrome, which is more expensive than you’d think. I love my bike. It keeps me from many vices that could easily creep in, but I work hard to afford the extra money it takes, then between the family and bike, I don’t have time for vices.

4:43 ... my HD only costs me $6US a day to own. I bought the bike used, at a price that it's worth 3 years later, so with fuel, tires, servicing, insurance and registration costs, it's affordable to run. Yes, I could have spent more on various improvements, but I didn't want to cross the line of diminishing return.

It's You on two Wheels, feeling the Wind bit like a 10 speed (when I was younger) or cruising on motor cycle Longer distances, it Unplug you from the "Matrix" that suck your dry. Your attention is in you the balance the road the Scenery and last but not least the People that you meet when you ride without a destination the Spirit picks you up and things happen, you are sort of guided to meet kinfolks where life is at . The blessings of enjoying the moment not worrying about what comes next, it's sort of like Sailing, but instead of the Wind, on a motorcycle you let yourself take you where you are most comfortable try it. @ least it works for me. 😎🤙

Not sure if you've done a video on winter riding gear but I'm interested in different techniques. I want to prevent freezing my hands without the need of electric heater gloves / gear. Wonder what you use personally.

Motorcycling has brought me and my wife closer together. She loves to ride. Funny thing is we live in Florida and vacation in Tennessee and north Carolina. We always take the bike if possible.
