Oxford is the county town and only city of Oxfordshire, located in England, United Kingdom. We drove through the town to find the pub known as "The Eagle and the Child" -- a pub somewhat known for being the place where C.S. Lewis & J.R.R. Tolkien wrote stuff back in the mid-1900's
This drive was recorded in July of 2021. We rented a car from Hertz and I hooked up the dash cam to record the adventure! It was somewhat hair-raising! This is a video of me driving through Oxford trying not to crash.
Watch me drive around and comment with my family!

Thanks Jimmy!!! Driving on the left wasn't too big of a deal. The lack of signage was a much bigger deal!!! (Like dead ends that don't have "dead end" signs!)

Driving in the Oxford was a challenge!!!! But it is a beautiful town. Despite the brief time of frustration there, it was an amazing family vacation!

Just finished this/ have to say this could be a tv series in the UK for its shear comedic commentary, it’s so funny how you react to driving round OXFORD CITY CENTRE, they would have to close the streets off as you obviously have zero FU#€ for any of our road markings/signs/laws, traffic lights or one ways, bus ONLY LANES etc quite a watch but very enjoyable❤❤❤❤❤thumbs up

Advice from a Brit: 1) If poss, don't hire a car from an airport, as it's more expensive 2) If a town/city you want to visit by car has a 'park and ride' (system of satellite car park(s) with a bus connection to the centre), use it, it's there for a good reason, as driving & parking in the centre will be even more difficult & expensive than usual - Oxford being the prime example.

I know right! At that point in this video I questioned if this was a pilot for a new comedy but alass no- just an American driver giving zero F to sat nav, lane discipline, traffic lights, road markings, signs, pedestrian crossings, one way streets, Bus ONLY lanes etc I dread to think the fines he racked up!!!!!😂😂😂

Dude at 2:10 you are driving into a BUS ONLY road!!! Called a BUS GATE! That’s a £30-£60 fine right there! Then you say you haven’t arranged parking in Oxford Centre before driving there are not getting the ParknRide my jaw dropped, the cherry on top is the building you seem to have no idea where is….is kinda brownish!!😂😂😂😂

There are two lights on the pole to the left of the car. The solid red is for the right lane. The Green arrow straight ahead was for the left lane. Cheers!

Haha na mate we will find you great! This video is like a real life Chevy Chase film- btw you broke a number of driving regulations/laws in this short clip and must have racked up £100’s in fines for violations? Did Hertz not question you?? Enjoying your content mate

@@gmdhargreaves Nope, no one questioned me! The only thing that came kind of close was was I accidentally drove through the "drop off only" zone at Healthrow. Even though I didn't drop anyone off, the camera caught me and assumed I did. Hertz paid the 40 pound fine for me before I could dispute it then billed it to me (plus their own service charge). ☹
