A bit of a silly question, but what do you recommend saying when the interviews ask you if you have any questions at the end of the interview? Am I supposed to ask them about the college/course/the technicalities of admissions or something else? If I ask them something about a topic in the subject or an opinion on book (or perhaps ask them to recommend me a book?) is this regarded as me showing curiosity for the subject or is just weird?
You don't need to ask anything, and it won't count against you if you don't have a question. It is meant to be an opportunity to ask some technical questions about the admissions process, rather than initiate a long academic discussion.
Yes,just be cool about your interview bcuz being in tense mood or stressing doesn’t make the intervew any better. More calm and composed we are more clear our pronounciation and vocabulary will be. Our statement should be related tto topic.
Are there any A-Levels that might set you back from being accepted here? Can I still do Psychology or will it be frowned upon? What is the typical alevel combo for e&m :)
Psychology is fine. Only General Studies is inadmissible. The course requirements for E&M are here: www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/undergraduate/courses-listing/economics-and-management You have to have Maths, but otherwise it is open to you.
Hai girl... I like this field too, Adam Smith, right... Jesus college, so brave... don't be afraid... Judas was crossed up there... Beside your mind, your heart too must to be stabilized... 🌐🇬🇧🌱❤️
For those who have not studied economics previously, is there much point trying to ‘teach it to yourself’ or will you not be asked questions of that sort? Thanks
For E&M and PPE is A level maths a requirement and if so how maths intensive are the courses? If maths A level is required, is it to prove ones logical mindset or is it necessary for the course, and if it is to prove a logical mindset, can an A level such as computer science be used instead to prove logic as it is technically applied maths? Thanks in advance.
Maths is required for E&M, but not required for PPE. It is nonetheless considered helpful to have maths A-level for PPE. The components of mathematics used are predominantly statistics, calculus, and set theory. Certainly the logical component of computer science would be of use, but there are aspects of mathematics used for economics that would not typically be covered in a CS A-level.
@@samuelphillips4043 Possibly, because your numeracy skills are tested by the TSA admissions assessment, and Maths students are likely to perform better on this. But, with practice, you should be able to put in a highly competitive performance on TSA.
Not usually, no. We have students from about 150 countries, many of whom have English as a second or third language. So we are fairly comfortable with minor mistakes.
