Walking through the new footpath configuration through the Botley Road Rail Bridge roadworks in Oxford, from Frideswide Square, past Oxford Train Station to the Osney Bus Stops on Botley Road.
The walk from Frideswide Square and Oxford Train Station to the Botley Road Osney bus stops takes approximately 5 minutes.
The works to replace Oxford's Botley Road rail bridge and improve Oxford Train Station are being carried out by the construction company Kier Group, and began in April 2023. The works are currently due for completion in October 2024.
In order to carry out the works, Botley Road has been closed to traffic and a cordoned off footpath has been in place.
The contractors have moved the configuration of the footpath many times, to allow them access to service pipes and cables under the footpath.
This new footpath configuration now starts on the train station side of Frideswide Square, then passes over Botley Road and back under the pedestrian tunnel before turning left towards The West Gate Hotel and right again towards Botley Road and the Osney Bus Stops.
