I've given up assuming I already know what you're going to say by the title since basically every video I watch from you guys teaches me something new. Had no idea about the Sulphurine, Radon, Nitrogen cycle which now opens up a lot of high end crafting just with a little oxygen, Thanks!

Great video, something new to learn with the different ways that oxygen is so valuable and often overlooked. Plus it’s very useful for recharging your life support, and its very satisfying blasting those annoying puffing things. I do it just because they’re there and the oxygen is a bonus.

Great video, Taylor. I’m off to use that gold -> pyrite trick now. Oh, and I always thought that the Venus-fly-trap plant was reflecting your mining laser back at you if you shot it as it was closing, and that’s why you take damage. At least that’s my head canon.

About annoying plants, how about that tentacle one hanging from the roof of abandoned buildings that you sometimes can’t shot! Of course they hang near stuff you need to get too!

This system right here is what makes this game so compelling to me. So many things are connected like a web through the refiner. It makes basically all things you can collect have value. With some research and a little thought you are only ever a step or two away from your goal.

Btw... 0:28 dont mine oxygen by just hooting the plant.... harvest the 3 nodules 1st THEN harvest the plant, get a lot more oxygen that way. You can also harvest the nodule from the biting plant... just have to access it from a certain angle... hold E... you harvest the nodule and it'll close, then harvest the plant.

One thing you didn’t mention, that a lot of people don’t seem to know: Put oxygen in the refiner by itself and you get…carbon! No more need to make a bunch of plant farms and go through collecting them slowly. Just do some gas extractors for oxygen and you have all the carbon and condensed carbon you will ever need! 👍🏻

Yeah, those Flytrap plants are the worst. - While doing this past Weekend Mission, I noticed something about them and that is their damage radius when snapping shut has been significantly decreased. You no longer get hit from half a continent away and have to be within a meter or two for it to hurt you. Not sure when this was patched (must be fairly recent), but I haven't seen any mention of it in any of HG's NMS Patch Notes. (edit for autocorrect 2x's)

I've been telling people this for years 😜 No one has really made a good video on it since Xaine covered it, what...3 years ago now? I never go out of my way to make an oxygen farm because it's so common I usually find 3 or more hotspots that just happen to be in range of my bases. A single deposit with 10k storage can set you up indefinitely.

Can we refine carbon into oxygen? Or refine any other element into oxygen? I used to do the old chlorine farm but they nerfed the amount of oxygen you can purchase. Luckily I made 1.3Billion before the nerf.

I'm starting the game again since 2 years. But i went to EVERY space station and there is never any oxygen in the market ? Is that a patch or anything ? I'm trying to have a good money start with chlorine but I can't make Oxygen Refiners for now. Let me know if I do something wrong. Thank you for the video ;) Want to continue to use that oxygen haha

I had the same issue. I'm trying to crank out some cash by just infinitely refining ionised cobalt, but I'm running around like an idiot just collecting oxygen cause nobody has any to trade. They must've patched it.

I'm a rather new player myself, and from what I can tell it's a difficulty setting that you can change in the difficulty settings menu, I belive it is the option to do with what resources the trader will sell. I started playing a day before the waypoint update after a friend bought me the game and I've never seen any oxygen for sale anywhere, I've had to collect it all by hand using the mining tool or using the gas collector structure. (the one you can place anywhere, not just on a gas hotspot; it requires carbon to run).

No bug! 😁 Hello Games has adjusted space station inventories to NOT have oxygen, batteries, life supports gels…etc. So we all need to adjust how we approach the early game.

I’ve been saying forever that oxygen is way more valuable than activated indium or any other mineable resource. A full stack of act-ind is worth about 9 mil. A full stack of oxygen creates about 3 full stacks of chlorine, which are then worth 18 mil. Yeah, it takes some refining, but if you build a bunch of refiners and spread it out, you can be done in about 10 minutes and even do a few other tasks while it’s refining. Plus, you don’t have to deal with annoying extreme storms! 👍🏻

use the refine glitch and you'll be knee deep in anything you need or want. Even things you can't refine. I just restarted a new game I have nearly 100K nanites and over 250 million units in less than 6 hrs of game play. It would take you hours and hours to get to this point of wealth without the glitch. I only buy S value upgrades for weapons and such. Another time saver. They may patch this glitch at some point Ok Interloper? 😃
