Whose Steed Is Standing There? The girl approaches the boy on a beautiful grey horse, and takes a chance on love. But when the sun rises, her love is gone.
This love song, popular in Poland and Ukraine, goes back centuries. And yet folk music still touches the deepest parts of our souls. To me, this song is about love at first sight, which can be eternal or fleeting, like a ray of sun.
While I typically lean towards fusion-style versions of songs, updating and arranging in my own unique way, for this one I wanted to pay tribute with a more traditional folk arrangement.
