Oyakodon 親子丼 Simple Japanese Recipe 简单快捷日式食谱
Hey everyone, welcome back to g8stromania. As a student studying abroad, quick to cook but delicious recipes are a live-changer. Today, I'll be introducing one of my favourite recipes: Oyakodon. A Japanese recipe that is super simple to prepare and tastes delicious.
1 pc of chicken thigh
Half an onion
10g ginger
Spring onion garnish
2 eggs
4 tbsp of water
2 tbsp mirin
2 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp sugar
0.5 tsp chicken stock powder
Steps:
1. Marinate chicken.
2. Fry ginger, onions and spring onion whites till fragrant.
3. Turn off fire, then add chicken with marinade.
4. Heat up at medium-low flame, cover and simmer for 6 mins.
5. Flip the chicken and simmer for another 4 mins.
6. Add in the beaten egg (do not mix well) and let it cook at medium-low flame for about 2 minutes so it's not overcooked.
7. Add spring onions garnish.
8. Pour over a bowl of rice.
9. Put an egg yolk in the middle (optional)
