Got one for $6.50 +tax. Couldn't fully disassemble it since threadlocker was used on every screw and the pivot was locked solid. Action was stiff at first but got better after some new oil and several openings. Blade steel is low quality stainless, probably 440a. Edge was semi-dull out of the package, so I sharpened it up, but with steel this soft, it won't stay sharp long. The shape of the blade was what got my attention in the store, though. It was perfect for an Emerson wave mod. I cut a small hook into the spine where the jimping begins, and it works perfectly, allowing me to open the knife as I pull it from my pocket. Pros: metallic blue color, slim profile, comfortable shape, sharp point, light weight, deep carry tip-up pocket clip and blade shape make it a great candidate for a wave mod, price under $10 Cons: Rough fit & finish, Blue color is painted on, copper colored pivot ring isn't real copper, soft blade steel (poor edge retention), odd flipper is a separate hinged piece that can prevent lock from engaging if not fully depressed, smooth textureless surface makes it slick. Overall, it is worth the 6-8 dollar price tag, but with knives by kershaw available in the same store, for just a few dollars more I'd say just spend the few extra and get a good knife, with good steel, made by a good company, with good customer service. It's worth it. Kershaw Filter (15.99) and Kershaw Hotwire (12.99) come to mind.
I just got mine and it pretty decent. Don’t like how tuff the flipper is but I guess some work in is needed. Thumb studs are amazing and easy to get the blade out though.
Yeah this is not the first time I hear how tight the action is on these OT knives. Try some silicone grease or gun oil. It may help a little without making it too loose.
Cop buddy of mine saw this on knife on me and mentioned to me that they're illegal by the switchblade definition in our state. I was surprised by that but he then said half the department carries similar pocket knives.
I bought this knife a little over a week ago as a temporary replacement for my more expensive EDC knife that the belt clip snapped off of after 3 1/2 years. I must say I am very impressed with it for the price, right around $9 bucks after tax. The flipper was a little stiff at first but a little exercise and it seemed to break in nicely. The blade is slightly off center on mine but not enough to be a real problem. Pleasantly surprised and I have already recommended it to someone at work as an inexpensive EDC. I agree wholeheartedly with the video, very nice knife for the money.
Ok so I have one of these and I've got a couple questions. 1 Whats the flipper design called? And 2 maybe a strange question at face value but could it be considered a switchblade? Obviously there is a difference between an assisted and an auto, however usually the legal description of an assisted flipper knife stipulates that the flipper has to be actually attached to the blade where this one isn't. It's got the thumb studs so there's that going for it at least but ya. Just figured I'd ask in case anyone ACTUALLY knows.
@@NotNuffKnives do you have the tan handle one . If so witch one do you like best . I took the one you have their in the video back and got the tan handle one but I am going back and get it have only seen it I to other walmart s got to get it before they are gone . I have learn to keep to keep the ozarktrail knife s that I get now because you may not find them any more .
I just picked one up from Wally World for $7 even. It seems like a decent knife to add to the collection. I'm a huge CRKT and Kershaw fan, but I will try others out. Especially one for $7 out the door!
I picked this one up today. I really like it. Nice budget knife. The funny thing is they greased the hell out of mine because there is a ton of blue grease in it . Love the video.
Glad you’re loving it. It’s crazy how much China manufacturing has stepped up it’s QC. I look back at Chinese made knives twenty years ago, and I had no idea we would be where we are today.
@@NotNuffKnives Thanks. I ended up returning it. It was too dangerous for my comfort level not knowing when or how it'd open and close consistently. I have other ones that are easier to use.
I got the tan handle one assit open and it is very sharp. I do like it . And I'm going to get that knife and the camo snow handle one . And they have a blue metal handle one and gray and a pink one I want the gray handle and the blue handle one .I want to get them all soon .
To close the knife you've got to strip naked and hang by your left foot from the ceiling in Moe Griswald's bathroom. Make sure you're facing West and your belly button hasn't consumed Any of Auntie Grezelda's liquorice-flavored eyelash grease from Kathy Bush's squalid little trailer in Port St. Joe, Florida!! Ow!! Ow!! Halp!! Halp Police!!
@@pringles3254 mine gets stuck open so I cannot use it, unless I undo the pivot screw a little, fix, then re adjust , it gets stuck open with little force. I really want to like, it is good to know someone else had a similar issue, though disheartening. I am working on a fix and may check-in here again, if I fix. I know, so cheap not worth messing with, but I really like it, and want to fix if possible.
@@NotNuffKnives mine doesn't take much, and someone who wasn't aware of the issue, could do it on accident, to the point where it would be stuck open, requiring tools (or at least one of the right size torx tool) to get unstuck.
I got one and it has some scratches on the handle . I'm talking it back to Walmart and get a nother one and hope it does not have any scratches on it . How do you like yours . Do you have any Camille knifes
A cheap leak look a like I can see a place for cheap decent knives but I cannot bring myself to buy one . I've been collecting knives since 1982 lol maybe to keep in my glove box in my truck
@@NotNuffKnives mine gets stuck open on accident with very very little Force, requiring torx (I am 6'4 300 lb avg. strong male, but can't pry open with fingers) to loosen, fix then readjust, only to get stuck open again, eventually, due to late lock up. I'm wondering if your lockup is late? Do you have any ideas on how I could fix except for maybe grinding even more off for a complete total lockup yet not making so loose to render unusable?
I have this knife.I took the thumb stud off, changed the edge angle to 15 degrees with a Ken Onion work sharp, sharpened to a polish.Thing is shaving sharp, edge retention isn’t great but it ain’t awful either. For the money it’s a good work knife.
