I love this tent. I’ve had it for three seasons camping from early May through mid October in all kinds of weather and have had minimal water leak through. I just seam sealed it and waterproof sprayed all the seams and exterior this year especially concentrating the spray between the floor seam and sides and went through a 2 inch rain storm with no leaks. I bought a soft polypropylene 10 foot round carpet for the interior, sleep on an 80 X34 inch cot, with a side table and have plenty of room to stand and dress or stretch out. I think if you would have met the two door zippers up on the side of the door instead of the bottom of the door you would have had less water in front. I heat the tent in early Spring and late October with a little buddy propane heater that keeps me nice and warm in North Dakota down to a temperature of 30 degrees. I keep a carbon monoxide detector inside and its never registered anything. I do seal the top vents in cold weather as there is enough fresh air coming in through the tops of the windows to provide oxygen and limit CO build up.

I am for sure going to seal this tent up. I think it is worth doing something with. Thanks for stopping and the great comment!

One of the best things about this tent is walking into it standing up….instead of having to bend in half or crawl into a tent like my past tents.

Really appreciate seeing this video. You never know; most times we get what we pay for. But every now and then we get pleasantly surprised. Looks like your prediction was spot on with this tent. Just thinking… if you can’t stop the toggles and webbing from channeling water, I wonder if you could rubber band som sandwich bags to them as sort of a water catchment device? You could empty the bags as needed, and that would sure beat having to bale out the floor. Just a podunk fix idea from a podunk thinker. Ha!

Ha! We must have had the same Grandfather. That sounds like a fix he would have showed me! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Ha! Could just be! Definitely on my mom’s side! 😆 Always enjoy your videos and look forward to finding new ones. I think I commented in an earlier video that I appreciate the manner in which you convey your thoughts. It reminds me of listening to family or any one of our neighbors. That’s what makes you so relatable and fun to watch. You’re right; life’s short. And we should spend more time appreciating and enjoying the blessings that already surround us. Why we have to get into our fifty’s before we figure that out, I don’t know. Just glad we finally got it! Venture on, friend! And thanks for taking us along! 👍

Good morning! Great video and review Sir! Well, I have this tent, but it’s never been tested in the rain…. I think I have the older model too, with the twist lock poles. Like you, I was intrigued by the design, and had some hopes for it. I think I will do the seam sealer and waterproofing spray, and see how it holds up! Thanks for sharing, take care and my best to you and your family!

Good morning my Friend! Since you already own the tent, you might as well give it a try and I hope it works out. Does your tent have the 2 windows with a rear vent or the 4 window model?

@@RandallsLittleAdventures So, I’m a Bad American, because I can’t remember! Lol. I will have to set it up this weekend and follow up! I really do like the room inside though.

Thanks so much for the subscription! Any tent can have an issue. I don't hold against a tent at this price point at all.

I too like to be able to stand up in a tent. But, I also like ot be warm. So my tents are divided by season. I have. tunnel tent that is a double wall tent that is about as short a tent as I can stand, but, it heats up very nicely evren in the coldest of weather. That is an Anamaya tunnel tent. I have a Coleman Carlsbad that is a bit taller, but it has a mesh roof that, with the help of a rainfly will stop the rain. I can either leave the fly off or put it on, depending upon how much bug free sky watching I want to do. I just purchased an Ozark Trail yurt that is really very nice to stand up in, but i tlacks a skylight and the high celling means it doesn't heat up very well.

I just rely on my sleeping system to keep me warm at night. I don't feel the weather gets cold enough here to purchase a 4 season tent. I wish I could use a tent with no fly but in this part of the country you would wake up soaking wet from dew no matter what time of year it was. I would be curious on your thoughts of the OT yurt after you have had a chance with it for a bit. Thanks for stopping in my friend!

They n ed to have an awning over the door like the window. That will keep rain from coming in when you open door
@RandallsLittleAdventures
@RandallsLittleAdventures 20 дней назад
@Thatcntrygirl1 That would be an awesome addition to this tent. Unfortunately they will never have one on it at this price point.

@@RandallsLittleAdventures did you get it to stop Leaking ..?
@RandallsLittleAdventures
@RandallsLittleAdventures 19 дней назад
Did I get it waterproof yet? Short answer is no. With that said I do think I have it at a manageable level if it does rain during the night. I wouldn't be worried to sleep in it during a moderate rain event.

Ive Been roughing it in a $25 OT 4 person tent for 8 years. Its been great. Super quality for the price. But I'm getting old and its not very tall. You have to crouch even at the tallest point. I saw this tent at Walmart yesterday on closeout for $65 so i didnt even hesitate buying it. It will be great to actually stand up in a tent for once. Im excited to try it out next month on my camping trip. Imgonna waterproof the hell out of it tomorrow when it stops raining

It is amazing how much a person appreciates standing up in a tent. For $65 bucks, that is a great deal. Let me know how yours works out for you!

Whats a good brand of seam seal & waterproof spray? Just bought this tent, doubt I plan to camp during raining days but one never knows the weather might change while out.

I used Gear Aid Seam Grip and Scotchgard Outdoor Water Shield Fabric Spray. The seam sealer works well but is kind of a mess when applying it. The Scotchgard works amazing and easy enough to apply.

All new tents I buy rather inexpensive to expensive, seam seal it, and treat the outside.

EVERY tent needs seam sealer & a good waterproofing (spray). ? The design is amazing for a cheap tent and is a super easy set up. Great for short-term camping but any tent at this price level needs a major chemical upgrade if there's even the slightest chance of rain. Also, I thought tents should have a secondary tent tarp underneath. ?
@RandallsLittleAdventures

It really depends on the maker of the tent. I have a couple of tents that are good to go right out of the box. Ozark Trail is not one of them. I do love the design though. To get the maximum life out of a tent, it should have a ground sheet. I do on some tents and don't worry about it with others.

@@RandallsLittleAdventures Also would love to know if sealing & waterproofing helped this tent because it is pretty cool - easy set up and the available space. Honestly, just about every tent I've ever had leaked a bit - even w/sealing & waterproofing!

I do like my Onetigris Backwoods Bungalow 2.0. I also have a Lightfighter 1 current military tent that does exceptional and is pretty light and easy to pack, and amazingly enough some of the Coleman tents do well but that is more hit or miss. My Sundome 4 man tent has never leaked and it is a 1998 model.

The waterproofing and seam sealing helped this tent considerably. I am going to play around with it more in the future to see if I can improve it even more.

There is a wax that comes with many higher end soft side coolers, to treat zippers. I am thinking of giving that a whirl on mine.
