@@llee8825 , Mercedes is a head case. It wasnt about the unwritten rule, it was about disregarding an instruction from your manager and making it about himself. There's a reason he is a career minor leaguer. You want to coddle all of your players? This is what you get. A team grossly falling short of expectations.

Ozzie still has the fire. I'd love to see him manage again. The X's and O's are managed by stats guys these days, but no one can spark a fire in a team like the manager. Ozzie still has that ability imo. He might be too crazy for a team but he's the crazy a team like the Sox need.

I said many times when the sox hired LaRussa it was a huge mistake. Ozzy was the hire regardless if they come back and win this shit division or not this team is dead with no leadership i sense tension in that clubhouse. Ozzy would of given these kids something to fight for or unite for one way or another and brought out the talent and allowed them to play loose and cocky . Kaplan you should be ashamed of yourself for supporting this dude Larussa and Biden have a lot in common.

It's harder to evaluate managers than coaches in most other sports because of how hands-off they are (or should be) and no one will say anything unless the team is losing. But La Russa has made a TON of questionable decisions (intentionally walking guys on 1-2 counts stands out, WTF?) this season and the team is sorely underperforming so combine those two things and most people will come to the conclusion that the manager is at fault. He may not be the sole problem with the White Sox but he certainly isn't the solution either. As for Ozzie, I'm not sure if I'd want him back, his first tenure with the Sox ended pretty poorly and as funny as all the ejections and press conference nonsenses were "fire" alone doesn't make a good manager. But he is 100% SPOT-ON about one thing: Rick Renteria was ROBBED of an opportunity to manage a great baseball team. They gave him a huge rebuilding project and once they started to see progress, they fired him and gave the job to someone who hadn't managed in 10 years and let that person reap the rewards. That's garbage...

A good teacher can teach. A great teacher can inspire and teach. Tony can't do this anymore. He should just take his dignity and retire. The players are not happy being coached by a man like their grandfather. The White Sox players wanted to win for Renteria. They liked him . He inspired them .and had a team with less talent. They related to him. They're not happy with a man like their grandfather. He has no energy and should just retire. REINSDORF IS THE SAME WAY. REMEMBER BILL WIRTZ AND HOW THE BLACKHAWKS SPUTTERED. Let the young men do their job and hire WHO THEY WANT.

Cease, Giolito, Lynn, and Kopech should've been more than enough to put up a record well over .500. It's 60% of a rotation that won 93 games last year, and then you got rid of the worst of them by far (Keuchel) and replaced him with a guy who's pitching very well (and probably overachieving) right now. They have the pitching, they're just underachieving badly. Their fire offense has also scored fewer runs than the current "AAA" Cubs team, so a lot of blame has to go on them as well.

Ozzie was 155 pds as a player ,who foolishly swung at pitches shoulder high , thus hitting lazy fly ball to the right fielder his whole career . Because he had a decent batting average,he thinks he was a good offensive player. This despite the fact he had no power, seldom walked ,and had his RBI totals limited by the fact outfielders played him so shallow. One year mgr Ozzie announced our running game is killing us. "No shit Oz",for the last year and a half ,everyone on the team not named Juan Pierre ,had a 38% stolen base success rate.Meaning they were thrown out 62 % of the time. I know because I crunched the numbers. Nice of you to finally notice Oz,perhaps actually looking at a stat print out might have been a good idea. When the team's overall stats and injuries are taken into account the record is about what it should be, although some of the mental lapses are embarrassing. The penny pinching owner should be getting the boos for not be willing to pay San Francisco's lefty ace. He is the only good starting pitchers you've drafted this century.
