In remembrance of Ozzie Nelson who passed away on this date in 1975. Ozzie and his orchestra were the first to record this song on Feb. 16th, 1931. Ozzie was 24.
That’s so wonderful! You’re all so loved by your fans too numerous to count though all these years & will be by more to come! 💗💕🌸 My mom loved mysteries & we always loved The Father Dowling Mysteries! All the best to you & your family!
Nice video! I once met Ozzie and Harriet and they were the greatest people. Ozzie in particular was very outgoing and talked with me like we were old friends. Harriet was a bit quieter but lovely as always. Thank you!
Wow! That’s wonderful! I have to see if I have it! I was left with many big band era records! I haven’t seen them all! A collection of my great aunt & uncle’s born at the end of the 1800’s! Thanks for the idea to look!
In the Ozzie and Harriet TV show, most think they never revealed what his "job" was. That's mostly right, but there was perhaps a hint in the 1954 "Old Fashioned Remedy" episode. Ozzie is criticizing Doc Williams who is about to give a shot to sick neighbor Thorny. Doc Williams jokingly says, "Just a minute. Let's be ethical about this. Mr. Thornberry, do you mind if I discuss your case with the eminent surgeon and musician Doctor Nelson?"
I think that was supposed to be a joke. I read he was supposed to be a ladies undergarments salesman, but that it didn’t make it into the show...some thought it was too riske for the times. But...that might just be a rumor.
@@cynthiaennis3107 I agree it was probably was a joke. Obviously not a surgeon, and "musician" had nothing to do with the story line but true in real life of course. The "musician" part is probably the inside joke. On at least on other episode (I forget which) after David enters the field of law and Ricky also working in the law office at times, one of them asks Ozzie something like "With your legal background, perhaps you can advise me." Perhaps another inside joke as the real Ozzie had a law degree.
Dream a Little Dream of Me" is a 1931 song with music by Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt and lyrics by Gus Kahn. It was first recorded in February 1931 by Ozzie Nelson and also by Wayne King and His Orchestra, with vocals by Ernie Birchill
