It was no accident by no means. Mr. Rhoads is an unsung hero who kept the plane from actually flying into the bus, thus saving Mr. Osbourne, Sharon, Tommy and one of the greatest Bassist to ever grace everybody's Band, in fact, Rudy actually saw the physical struggle taking place. The pilot had no business flying, expired license, all coked up out of his mind and let his B/S marriage problems damn near wipe out an entire band plus others. Please, for the love of God himself, do not call it an accident. It was attempted murder deviated by a hero that saved countless lives. Randy was more than a guitar player.

agree. I think RR wrote better songs but that was due to Bob Daisleey as well. Jake to me his playing especially live was way more insane. MAn was a fretboard wizard. Was dive bombing/detuning his guitar all without a whammy, being pushed by Ozzy then getting back in tune which I thought was crazy. He executed those Rhoads/Iommi songs by putting his own taste to it without ruining the song. It was almost as if the Ozzy gig was way too easy for him.

Not really, the dude can't riff. Dokken is pop dribble, and likely why he never made the cut. Randy had a definite thing he brought. But, in my opinion, Jake E Lee was the most rock n roll player Ozzy ever had. His work mm in Badlands is great. Zack his been by his side a long B time and is far from a slouch. I'll go out on a limb here and say IMO those two Mr Crowley solos of Randy's from the After Hours TV Promotion you touched on here is as good as any "Live" solo I've ever heard ever Period .the combination of his technical precision .blinding speed .muting of the strings .and most of all the emotion and feel in which he played with was like WOW !!! The greatest Heavy Metal Guitar Solo in a song EVER .and he wrote that solo mapping it out on sheet music before ever playing it he had the riff and he and Bob worked on the structures to a rough draft then Randy went to the drawing board crafting the "Perfect solos" incorporated it to song and just like that a masterpiece was created

Ozzy coulda done great with either guitarist. I wonder what woulda happened with Dokken if George had got the gig. Would Jake be Dokken's guitarist? Wouldn't that be crazy????? Let's get in the DeLorean and go back and time and see that happen! LOL By the way, in the video, the creator said Jake was replaced by Zakk Wylde after Bark at the Moon. They're all amazing players, so hard to put one above the other as far as just playing. So I'll take the records....Randy played on 2 classic records, Jake played on 1 good, not classic record and 1 dud, Zakk Wylde had a good one and an average record with his first 2 with Ozzy. Randy also gets on a decent live record and Zakk had some average live albums. I'm not a fan of anything post No More Tears. So Randy wins because he was on 2 true rock n roll classic albums.

17:29 I'm not sure who did that graphic, but his name is Craig Goldy, not Creg. I was a roadie for Rough Cutt from 1982 to 1985. I know both Craig and Jake. Jake didn't play with Micky Ratt, he did jam with them though. Rough Cutt was fronted by Ronnie James Dio, that's how Craig ended up with him. Jake was actually supposed to join Dio, but ended up joining Ozzy instead. He said all Ronnie was looking for was someone to be a flashy, three-chord player. Ronnie was probably the nicest man you'd ever meet. His wife, Wendy, rented an apartment for all of the road crew off Doheny, not far from The Roxy. The place was a non-stop party. Motley Crue's apartment was about two blocks from us. Jake is one of the funniest people I have ever known. The man has a wild sense of humor.

I remember meeting Craig when he was between bands working at a record store in eagle Rock California just before he joined Dio that guy was the coolest 😎 I used go back and buy stuff just to B.S about Rock n roll he used to talk about steeler,Roughcutt and remember that he couldn't stand the singer for Roughcutt I think his name was Paul shortino I think but not sure 😉
@krkhns
@krkhns 3 месяца назад
@@roberthoeg1964Yes. it was Paul Shortino. And, yes, Paul was a Dick. Craig was cool AF. Craig really didn't like any of the band except maybe the bass player, Matt Thor. He was really close to Ronnie. He said they were all back-stabbers using Ronnie to get ahead (irony, I know). There was a point where he would crash on a couch we had for our dog at our apartment rather than the apartment they had for the band. The record store period I don't know about. That must have been between gigs with Ronnie and just before Giuffria. His first time with Dio he went straight from Rough Cutt. Rough Cutt was somewhat a talent pool for Ronnie. A way for him to develop players for his band.That's why Jake was his first choice. Jake just wasn't a good match. Jake's playing was far too complicated for what Ronnie was looking for.

@@roberthoeg1964Doesn't ring a bell. But, I'm missing quite few brain cells from that period. Typical Craig, though. Craig is still pretty open. I ran into him on twitter in December and we went on for about an hour chatting about the old days. Passing out the first KLOS compilation album they were on in front of the Troubadour in the pouring rain. It was funny. People were like "I know who Goldy is, but who is this other guy?" Last time I talked to Jake was back in 83 just before the US Festival.

In respect I salute them thus I created a Temple to them in my own little way.

The kind of inconsideration of Ozzy towards Lynch.. is not reflecting positively on the way he (or Sharon?) runs his business. I think that in general .."also worked with Ozzy Osbourne"... can be easily translated as "also could use the street credibility and/or money and exposure that comes with a gig like Ozzy is offering".. given the sour dour shitty music this guy has put to record, I think the guitarists in question should be glad their career with Ozzy was either short lived or non-existent.
