Ozzy Osbourne - Hellraiser (REACTION!) 

This song was actually written by Ozzy and Lemmy from Motorhead for the Hellraiser movie. Ozzy and Motorhead did their own versions, and Ozzy just last year released a 30th anniversary version that cuts their two versions together after Lemmy's death. All three are great recordings.

An Ozz-a-thon would be fantastic, especially if you dive into the first four solo albums.

The tone on No More Tears is the best Zakk has ever had for Ozzy. It fits Ozzy's voice perfectly.

Ozzy's Mr. Tinkertrain off the same album has sick riffs/chords. Awesome guys!!!!!

Ozzy has quite a few amazing albums,masterpieces, but No More Tears is just absolute perfection from start to finish. Moments wasted: zero

Song to song this is Ozzy's best album. Every single song is amazing, even the b-sides that were cut are bangers.

It's awesome to see Zakk get the love he deserves. Man is a badass.

Ozzy's band at this time was incredible. Zakk Wylde, Mike Inez and Randy Castillo (R.I.P) are underrated as a unit IMO.

Mike Inez joined after this was recorded. The bassist that wrote and played on this album was Bob Daisley. He was also on the first three Ozzy albums.

This album really brought ozzy back to the masses, and wow the songs on here from start to finish were amazing...Lemmy helping with the writing and zack on guitar for this tune...how could you ask for anything better???

There are so many good ozzy tracks with Zakk! Some of my favs are Perry Mason, No more tears, and Road to nowhere. Some Black Label songs to check out are Stillborn, Suicide Messiah, and the live version of In this river!

Ozzy has almost always had very good guitarists to play for his band. He has an ear for talent.

To me, this song is what you would get if you combined Ratt's "Way Cool jr." with Black Sabbath's "Headless Cross." Also, Zakk Wylde's first band that gets forgotten was called Pride & Glory, and their album is pretty good. I think it has since been rebranded as Zakk Wylde's Pride & Glory, or even Black Label Society, I don't remember. But songs like Losin' Your Mind, Horse Called War, Shine On, The Chosen One, and my favorite, Troubled Wine... just one beast after another.

Black Label requests for you guys: War of Heaven, Suicide Messiah, New Religion, Set you Free and on and on ... all fire!

Ozzathon? Yes. Especially if you haven’t covered sabbath lately. Ozzy era sabbath is so good, IMO. The fact he was able to continue and arguably exceed sabbath is impressive.

I'd probably consider it Ozzy's last "Great" album. He's had some great songs since then, but this one was all killer, no filler. Also probably Zakk's last album where he still had some of that southern rock flair to his playing. After this, he went crazy with the pentatonic scales and harmonic squeals that gets a bit repetitive

Ozzy's stuff will stand the test of time forever because it is genuine and honest.

Regarding the technicalities part of your analysis, Zakk is a very accomplished guitarist but he knows how to rock and roll, which is something too many have forgotten.

Lemmy from Motorhead helped write this song. Motorhead does a version of it too. I like it even more.

They should do Perry Mason. It's criminally underrated

Here are a few suggestions… “Bleed For Me” “Suicide Messiah” “In My Dying Time” But you can’t go wrong if you’re looking for visceral, hardcore, metal guitar playing (imagine taking Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen and Tommy Iommi and rolling them together). Sadly Randy Castillo passed away, and I have to say gentlemen you sure missed one hell of a drum solo on this tour, I saw Ozzy 4 times on this tour ...Little Rock, Memphis, Dallas, and Houston or Lubbock can't remember that far back...but Randy was one of the most kick ass drummers of that time.

Bro Ozzy has had A LOT of nasty guitar players.... Guitar players that epitomize sounding impressive and pleasant to the ear. The pinnacle truly. Randy Rhoads, Zakk Wylde, Jake E. Lee.

Ozz-a-thon should definitely be in the works. A great guitarist can make you feel a certain, technical or not. That's one reason David Gilmore (Pink Floyd) and Jimi Hendrix to name just two, are so well loved. This song kicks ass on every level. \m/

The one thing all of Ozzy's guitar players have in common? They are riff masters! Tony, Randy, Jake E, Zack etc are all riff writing beasts

First of all, I would love an Ozzy marathon from you two. Secondly, I would recommend "Bleed for Me" or "Counterfeit God" as Black Label Society songs to react to.

Black Label Society - Stillborn, probably the most obvious place to start. The acoustic version from their album 'Skullage' along with Spoke in the Wheel from the same album is greatness!

I gotta say - despite how great the chorus is, Ozzy's voice is what really pulls this together. This version of the song is just perfect. Ozzy may not be the greatest vocalist of all time technically speaking, but his voice is just so unique, it hits like nothing else.

Ozzy wrote this with Lemmy from Motörhead. Both bands released a version. They combined it just recently for the anniversary which is now preferred version.

The syncopated accents are what make the guitar part awesome on this.

This is one of two or three songs on this album Lemmy from Motorhead wrote, Ozzy is dyslexic and doesn't write lyrics despite what Sharon's songwriting credits say. They did a version of this song a couple years back that mashed up the Ozzy and Motorhead versions that's worth checking out.

Credit where it is due.. this is a great song because of the musicians who wrote it. Zakk Wylde, and Lemmy Kilmister Ozzy just does his usual Ozzy bit over top unlike Lemmy who actually helped write what makes it great. Would rather hear Lemmy singing with this version played by Zakk...Ozzy? meh.

Hellraiser! Zakk Wylde on guitar. Lemmy and Motorhead played the shit out of this tune. Ozzathon sounds great. Here's my 3 - Shot In The Dark, Bloodbath In Paradise and Killer Of Giants. And to Ryan's point early on, I agree. Hard to bridge that gap betweet technicality and groove. Loved the reaction. Peace!

Zakk Wyldes band Pride and Glory needs some love. Losin Your Mind, Horse Called War, Shine On, Troubled Wine, Toe n the Line, Machine Gun Man, such a great overlooked album.

This incarnation of Ozzy is one of his better bands, Castillo on drums and Inez on bass really was magical with Wylde. The next incarnation in my opinion was the best! Borden, Trujillo and Wylde!

If you do an Ozz-athon, please oh please, do Diary of a Madman. Also, if you do Revalation (Mother Earth) or Steal Away (The Night) from Blizzard of Ozz, then do them together, in the order given. The first song is slow at the start but is rocking by the end and the next song carries straight into that same vibe.

You could do Ozzy every day for years and I’d be thrilled 😆 This album was really great. Very catchy songs with great hooks. It was much more accessible to the mainstream as well. Definitely a different crowd than the Diary crowd were now listening to Ozzy after this.

Breakin' All the Rules by Ozzy has nasty guitar riffs too. It is from the first album Zakk was on.

I remember hearing Zaks intro for the first time on the No Rest for the Wicked album. Knew then this was what Ozzy was looking for after Randy Rhodes death. Had NO idea Zak would turn out to be such an influence on the next 35 years of metal music.
