@@YeOldeThrashDude I know EXACTLY what it's like having something in your head & you can't get it out until it reaches fruition. In my eyes, you succeeded. Is it perfect? No, but the feeling of getting it all out there is so rewarding, it makes it all worth it.
While I'm humbled by your comment, if it's within your capability, please make a better mashup than I did. I'm just a guitar player, not a mashup wiz.🤣
Man, I miss the 80's. I did not realize how good we had it. Back then we always thought we "missed it", meaning the 70's which had so much good music. However, it was still so good in the 80's. The world is so f'd up now. .
Had this been available for a 24/7 loop at Guantanamo Bay, within minutes the prisoners would have given up Bin Laden's home address, room he spends the most time in, landline and cell phone numbers, email addresses, all social media accounts with passwords, his mothers maiden name and his favorite NFL team. It would have changed the course of history.
Yeah, youre right. Its not great but its not bad either. Experimentation like this is how you produce the great ones. Still a good mix though and I'm happy I listened to it.
You made my morning. Really not striving for greatness in that area though. It's enough just keeping my chops up as a late middle-aged guitarist! Just had it in my head and had to get it out. Thanks for your words of encouragement!
I want to play in a cover band that does all mashups like this. Tell me that wouldn't blow people's minds watching not knowing what is coming next. But after knowing these songs deeply over the years it would be confusing playing the songs occasionally as your old instincts take you where they want to go.
I can see a collab in the future. As seen on this channel, I'm a guitar player. Now all we need is a bassist, keys, and a singer who sounds like Ozz.@@neurocosm
If this is your first attempt at a mashup, it's pretty damn good. I've been a mashup DJ and affionado since 2005, so I've heard some brilliant ones and some total shit ones. My only negative is Ozzie's vocal is a little out of time at 3:26, and I would put the "All aboard, i i i" intro at 00:14. It's too loud and early and abrupt where it is now. And, overall take Ozzy's vocal volume down a little, or try adding a little "wetness" or very slight reverb so the vocal isn't so dry sounding. Otherwise, total B+ !!!
Now THAT's a constructive critique! Thank you! TBH, I'm just a guitar player and this was a one-off. I made it because it didn't exist and I wanted to hear it. Thought I would share and it kind of blew up. I doubt I'll be putting my hat into the ring again as I'd rather be know for my skill on my chosen instrument than something I'm not... even if less people are interested in that. There is honor in truth.
Too bad I don't remember how I did this, being such an old man and all... I ran across a program called RipX. Grabbed the demo. Ran the algorithm on both mp3s. Put them together in reaper and adjusted speed and pitch as needed. I probably "could" get better at these, but man, I'm a guitar player. That's the only thing I do that I can characterize as intrinsic.
I'm going to add to that. I've known you for how long and didn't know you played the drums or had a RU-vid channel? well, I'm a subscriber now. rock on! and if you ever need a guitarist for a project, let me know.
@@vincecowden There were some speed adjustments, yes. Best to do that with individual phrases to fit nicely over the music. I DID change the key of Jump to A from C to match Ozzy. I used some free software (I use a free online AI service now) to separate the music and vocals of both songs, and Reaper for the heavy lifting. Now a days I use Davinci Resolve to match the parts up. Wait until you hear Madonna Priest! If you'd like specifics about what I did, I can make a quick video tutorial...
would of been even better if you used Randy's solo in it. If you play the chords to jump on guitar instead of keyboard sounds similar to crazy train just in different key
On the chord thing, I agree completely. It's what led me down this road. Randy's solo, on the other hand doesn't fit well here. I tried it. But please, if you can, do it better! I WANT to hear a version by someone who knows what they're doing!
Thank you for your time and for commenting. Dude, in case you haven't read the description, I'm done with this tune. I have been waiting for someone who does these to do this and do it justice. If that's you, what are you waiting for!? If not, stfu. 🤷
@@YeOldeThrashDude lol would it really be that hard to adjust the mix? The mash was great fun - sure not perfect but vocals broke a few of my whine glasses already 😎
I laugh at your expectations of people who you don't know. YOU are welcome to do it! Judging by your channel though, you choose not to create, just critique. Go ahead. Do it better. The gauntlet is thrown.@@davidhenderson9707
Believe me, I'm paying you no mind. When I have a problem with a guitar a company makes, I don't complain to them, I design and build a better one without the problem. We are not the same.@@davidhenderson9707
Well... at least I thought of it and did something. What have you done? Judging by your channel, nothing. Zip. 3 lousy, no effort clips. You have 4 subs. Your opinion is kinda worthless and laughable. Merry Christmas loser!
You do know EVH had a sense of humor, most do. It's something you prove you have a lack of by commenting and taking something titled "crap mashup" seriously. Have you tried therapy? Maybe meditation? Go to church? Smelling roses? Get a life, you poor man. 🤣
