Looking good there Matt, I can't wait to see how you weather the leather the headrest. I usually just settle for one wash, a quick highlight and leave it.
Am I alone in thinking that Vader narrating this would be fun? "I am altering the dial. Pray I do not alter it further." "I find your lack of fit disturbing." "Obi-Wan never told you what happened to the B-17"
I look forward every week to your next posting and enjoy every build. My question is: I notice everyone fades the color on ailerons and elevators between the ribs. Isn't the rib up further in the airstream and the fabric more taught over the rib meaning it would be the faded portion?
I think this is one of those cases where people are just blindly following a weathering cookbook without thinking through the practical realities. As you say, the fabric stretched over the ribs will see more fading/abrading. In many ways, it needs to be treated more like WWI biplane wings.
You don't need to unless you're trying to pull off something unusual (shading etc), but when I thin it's either Mr Leveling Thinner or Mr Rapid Thinner
