He means programming it as in "Tuning the ECU to your car", Great video man that you for showing an actual bypass not just pulling shit off the car am=nd moving it behind the dash. You actually got hundreds of people back on the road including me. I think my pats is on the way.
it may not be computer at all. there is a pats ring at the key a ring that goes around it and connects under column that goes from there to a black box on top of fuse block under dash and then sends signal to computer and says ok let the car start he has the correct key with correct chip.with out all this working it will not start.the crown vic ecu bypasses all that for testing.if it doesn't start with mustang computer in it and does start with the crown vic ecu that means u have a p.a.t.s problem with one or all of the components more than likely not the computer
in the middle of a 4.6 2v swap in a foxbody, this might be some of the best, simple info ive found, i thought i needed a tuner, and all this other sorts of shit thank you sir!!!
I’m currently doing this swap to my foxbody as well, did this work for you? I’m going with the Ron Francis wiring harness and wanted a run a stock ecu. I’ve been thinking I needed a tuner as well.
@@israeldavidson6643 I used the original stock harness. If I had the money I would’ve sent Ron Francis or even better the Holley system. But I was able to make the original engine wiring system work with a flash tune and pats delete with a SCT BDX tuner.
have a 98 stick shift im about to try this here in a bit i have a p1260 engine dissable have any advice both original keys were lost had one replaced theft light clears after 3 seconds as well, its been a head scratcher i pulled some diagnostics and it might be a short somewhere as well
So I got a 2000 mustang gt and I tried this I went to the junk yard got the 333 pcm model and it still doesn't work the theft light keeps blinking what do I do now
All of yall asking repetitive questions... YES YES YES YES YES YES IT WILL WORK! IF YOU HAVE A 04 AND PATS FUCKS UP... GET A 96-97 CROWN VIC ECU AND TUNE IT TO YOUR CAR! As you can see he has a v8! Don't ask if it will work for a Taurus. Common sense people.
Absolutely, this is the best simple ,direct video, other videos are meaningless, unless you don't have the pat anti theft issues like we do. Have the car towed and have them isolated out of the computer or if you're able to hand over the computer and they can reformat it
@@johnd3224 i have a question here is my contact info 609 661 0808 ok so here’s my story I have a 98 mustang gt I went and bought a Diablo tuner my tuner couldn’t read my vin so I had a mustang guy try reading my pcm with his computer to do hp tuner but the pcm was locked with a Sct tune he told me to buy another computer so I did tried doing the parameter reset instructions and programming keys crank no start it said only one key programmed ,theft light stays on doesn’t go off. This is my daily so we tried putting old computer back in and what do u know it wouldn’t start, I pulled it up to the shop and it ran on both keys.
Hey I’m doing this exact thing to my 97 mustang idk how to find the new plug in I need to be able to install the crown Vic brain and where do I install it I need any info u can give me
So if I do this swap will the car run and drive? A car I’m looking at is having a PATS issue so if I swap the ECU will I be able to drive it home? Also will a handheld tuner work to reprogram it, like an SCT device? Or would it need to go to a custom dyno tuning shop?
u would have to get it tuned this is only to see if u have a pats problem because it's from a crown vic the car will start but not cool or shift correctly.so if u live close it will get u home but be careful and watch gauges
Has anyone done this and NOT reprogrammed or tuned the crown vic ECU and mustang drives fine? I know the ECU controls automatic shifting..but my concern is any other things if affects? I have a manual mustang 96
Can you take the lil black box key ring key and fob for a Ford explorer 4.7 and switch it out on a 2003 Ford expedition cause I grabbed all that at junk yard off a 2005 Ford explorer to see if I can get this expedition running???
this is for testing to see if u have a pats problem.putvit this way if the car doesn't start do to pats and u swap the ecu and it starts u have a pats problem not an ecu problem
if u get the crown vic computer put it in if the car starts then all u have is a pats problem.dont leave crown vic computer in as it will not turn fans on correctly its only used to diagnose the pats problem at that point if u have a pats problem either have pats tuned out of the car or locate the bad module
it has to match pats module beside fuse box.heres a break down that might help. 1 chip in key sends signal to steering column collar 2. steering column sends signal to module by fuse box. 3 module sends signal to computer. if it all matchs the computer says ok start car. all the modules keys and computer have to match or be flashed to match or it wont work ever.
I'm not sure it won't hurt anything to try.just don't run it like that it's only to test car.if it starts and runs with the crown vic ecu that means p.a.t.s is ur problem somewhere in the pats chain.
@@lFezMeGusta the only thing the crown vic ecu will do is eliminate everything else as why it isnt starting. its a pats work around dont drive car with that ecu.fans wont turn on and thats bad.put the cv ecu in if alarm is off and car starts u have a pats problem and everything else is ok.at that point u have a pats problem
it may not be computer at all. there is a pats ring at the key a ring that goes around it and connects under column that goes from there to a black box on top of fuse block under dash and then sends signal to computer and says ok let the car start he has the correct key with correct chip.with out all this working it will not start.the crown vic ecu bypasses all that for testing.if it doesn't start with mustang computer in it and does start with the crown vic ecu that means u have a p.a.t.s problem with one or all of the components more than likely not the computer
Do you know if this will work for a new edge car ? I have a 99 originally 3.8l car that is my winter beater with 300,000 miles on it ...headgasket is leaking so I'm putting a 4.6 2v in it when winter is over but just trying to find a cheap solution for bypassing pats as it is just a beater .
Get a police interceptor crown vic ecu and its eet up missins for high performance like mustang so you will be in similar ballpark for settinga rather than normal family car non high performance ecu settings
POLICE INTERCEPTOR SET UP SIMILAR TO MUSTANG..BOTH HIGH PERFORMANCE LIKE SPORTY RACCE CAR TYPE EMISSIONMORE GAS TO FEED GEAR 2:20 SET UPS AND ALL THAT.
@@slidewayskrew TESTING ONLY.it will not turn fan on correctly for cooling.u will melt ur car.this is only to test to see if u have a pats problem if ur car doesn't start with the pcm u have in it and it does start with the cv pcm then its a pats problem if it still doesn't start with cv pcm then it's something else.also if u want goto the junkyard find an 02 with a key. u need key lock, pats ring that's around it,pats module under the dash on top of fuse box it's black and the pcm behind front right side kick plate.and now u have new pats
