Great video, really enjoy watching how things are done in the U.K. i was surprised to see you can use copper for gas supply, thats a no go in the U.S. anyway keep the videos coming!
It's common in quite a few European countries, although mostly for exposed pipes, after all copper is fairly easy to nail or drill through. Some countries use stainless press-fit for gas, it's easier to use than threaded or welded black pipe and still reasonably sturdy.
Are they up sizing the rads for 55C/35C flow/return so the boiler will actually condense? I f not then that boiler will just sit around 85% efficient most of it's life.
55 is fine for a condensing boiler in terms of the condensing efficiency. 35-40 is what you would be aiming at if fitting a heat pump. However for the boiler without good modulation and weather compensation it will spend a lot of time cycling on and off and thermal cycling is damaging in the longer term.
