The music is burundian inanga. The book is unashamedly Eurocentric and covertly racist. And the egyptian quote? It's probably about nubians not "noirs", again a Eurocentric distortion of egyptian history. Sensationalist! to say the least.
Does an european man have the right to describe an african country where he has lived for several years? He never pretend to give the eternal truth about this culture. So of course there is some eurocentric views but there is also a lot of love and admiration of the old Rwanda.
Quixote Any man has the same rights as any other. And I, as a descendant of burundians and rwandans have a duty to scrutinize any outside opinion that tries to stand as an expert on the identity of my people, especially folks from the colonial era whose 19th century influences were awfully Darwinist, eurocentric and damn right racist. Professed love or interest are no excuses or distraction to me.
