I’ve based my Highland piping on Stuart Liddell when I heard him play I absolutely loved it and thought that my piping style should be similar to Stuart Liddell’s. What he,s able to do when he plays the pipes is incredible Iv’e still got a lot of work to do to progress to this level of expertise. The more practice chanter work that I do the better I will become. Theirs no other piper that I would rather listen to. This is up there with Willie McCallum and Angus Maccoll,s style of playing. Their to other pipers that I like to listen too I’ve seen Willie McCallum live twice now the first time was in Glasgow @ The National piping centre and the second time was at Gordon’s School in Westend. Both times he,s piping still amazed me it was lovely to see someone from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 having a wonderful time playing 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 National instrument. I’ve seen John D. Burgess on RU-vid I wasn’t fortunate enough to have met him but if I had I would have been amazed because even when a famous piper passes away it’s always nice for me to rediscover their work and be introduced to their style of piping. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 always produces the best musicians and that’s why I ❤️ the pipes and what is possible with them so much piping is very important to me. I’ve got🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 family members they live in Peterhead in Aberdeenshire. I’ve got a family tartan as well I would like to be able to track down our second clan tartan. My dream is to play the pipes I’m extremely passionate about them. #piperBob2 has been playing the Highland pipes for 27 years. I know Bob Ash He lives in Reigate in Surrey. I’ve been playing for 11 nearly 12 years. I absolutely ❤️ the sound of solo pipes and pipes & drums.

Does anyone know here the sheet music for the last tune he played can be found.
@piperbob2
@piperbob2 7 лет назад
It's the reel version, taken from P/M Donald MacLeod's jig, "The Banjo Breakdown" - see the 'Bob Dunsire' forum on this (e.g. Barry Shear's 'The Cape Breton Collection of Bagpipe Music', the RSPBA brown Tutor Bk 2, The Bicentennial Collection etc.)

It always strikes me how the better the piper, the less they give an eff as to how their drones sound before their chanter comes in. I wonder why that is?
@GamingKarbon
@GamingKarbon 6 лет назад
Why should it matter? It's not apart of the tune. They're more interested in the steady drones, the music and having a good bagpipe sound.
@piperbob2
@piperbob2 5 лет назад
The chanter comes in at full pressure, with the drones tuned to low A; When the drones are initially struck in, they can warble because the pressure inside the bag is at a lower pressure.

I like to keep mostly everything I film in the YT uploads, as introductions and other chat can contain interesting and useful information. Those that aren't interested can just scroll the cursor forward to the music.

Gunter Schtubert you again, yes people play to compete to push themselves as far as they can and enter the elite
@Bagpiper-nv9vz
@Bagpiper-nv9vz 5 лет назад
Gunter Schtubert what you talking about “well known”? Not once did I mention that phrase. Can you leave these phenomenal pipers alone, they crave to be the best they can and so do many many others so just leave it. Really don’t understand what your issue is with pipers competing honestly it’s pathetic, leave them alone
@Bagpiper-nv9vz

Gunter Schtubert come to the conclusion that it must be a jealousy thing because your probably shite at piping

Leslie Dodds every piper has a way of holding the pipes that they are comfortable with. That’s just what’s comfortable for him.
