Beaches, Medical Disembarkation and Gregg the Pigeon. It's an eventful day in the port of Cadiz as we explore this historic port, visiting some of the key landmarks within walking distance from the cruise port. You'll get a real sense of the culture here and will undoubtably be booking flights after watching this video. Beaches, monuments, we'll see it all! But the fun doesn't stop after we leave. An horn battle with the Sky Princess and the locals, followed by a return to complete a medical disembarkation. And who doesn't want to conclude the evening at the silent disco? It's all here onboard the P&O Britannia.

Thanks, I'm playing about with the styles a lot atm so is good to get some feedback. Make some investments in some new software and hardware that should hopefully give a more professional look for my next cruise.

I agree, although I can't say that any of the Spanish ports have been anything less! Got to finish on a sunset... amazing how they can all look so different when you realise it's all the same thing!

It's an underrated port imo. Good mix of history with the present. You could spend a day learning or relaxing on the many beaches!

I was on that cruise. We arrived in Southampton late due to the delay in Cadiz and head winds. The crew had difficulties with the ramps because the tide was too low, the queues of people waiting for the doors to open were long and chaotic, and when we were finally allowed to head toward the terminal crew members were telling us to hurry because passengers for the next cruise were waiting to get on board. There were thousands of bags on the floor in the terminal, lined up in columns with almost enough space between to fit the hundreds of trollies people were pushing around while trying to find their bags. It took us 45 minutes to find our 4 bags.

Thanks for sharing this, I had somewhat forgot this experience. It's amazing how quickly you forget as this was less than ten months ago! I think my experience was rather different as I remember being on the ship for ages. It was around 11:30 until I got off and was one of the last to leave the ship. This thankfully made finding my suitcase quite simple as there was only a few there. Overall I was happy with this and they kept us well informed with the disembarkation process via the tannoy. Overall I guess it's just one of those things. You don't happen to know why the Sky Princess had returned to port as well? Never did really find out.

Thanks a lot! That's awesome, did you enjoy your cruise? You know since my first cruise in 2008, I have only ever appeared in one video by someone else, and even that was for less than a second!

@CaptureCruising We loved it, thanks. We were in cabin F707, so we could not have been far from yours. We went on a few excursions. One was in Majorca to Formentor north of the island that was stunning.... With the amount you cruise, I would have thought you would find yourself all over youtube.

That's great to hear, and yes not too far! A bit more mid-ship so hopefully you had a calmer last couple days! I do need to start doing excursions again I think. I know! Probably not a bad thing, I look better behind the camera 😂

I’ve been there before and I’ve also been on Sky Princess. Lovely garden you visited. The beach’s looks good there. I do love a horn battle against the Royal Class ships of Princess. I’ve had a couple of medical emergencies in my cruises.

Haven't been on Sky Princess but I've been on Royal, Regal and Enchanted. This was the best horn battle I've seen, just a bit awkward when we both came back afterwards

Fab vid again. Cadiz is a beautiful city and very underrated. They had bad weather there a few days ago as the Britannia did the Spain and Portugal cruise before ours. Currently on the Britannia and we are now in Madeira and those horrible swells and gusts on the way here are a thing of the past. Well let’s hope anyway 😂

Thanks! I agree a great mix of things to do in a port the ship doesn't spend enough time in (excuse to book another cruise 😂). Glad to hear the weather is better in Madeira; I don't think it's stopped raining here all week 🌧 from speaking to people in my cruise group the Atlantic crossing is usually very calm so fingers crossed for you 🤞

Cadiz is a beautiful place! Lots of old world character & not very touristy like a lot of other Spanish ports! You walked a very similar route to me when I went although I ended up at the cathedral (with spooky vaults), not the beach!

It certainly is, it's amazing how much history is there to be learnt about. They also seem to want you to enjoy it with a lot of free-to-enter places! Nice, sounds good. Those spooky vaults sound like they would have been good for the upcoming Halloween

Thanks, I've always seen Spain as a very clean place (the places I've been anyway). Makes me a bit embarrassed to be British really! Haha I'd say the chances are pretty low... must have stowed away on the Britannia
