Encounter was my favourite ship when she was the Golden Princess..As encounter, the decor has become too black and white for me. But the layout is still great, there have been positive changes. I can't wait to go up to Skywalker's (or whatever it is now), in January, take a drink and my book, and enjoy the view of the wake.

tip if going out of Brisbane. either book the premium parking or have someone drop you off. they dont look it but the other 2 parking areas are a bit of a walk with bags. i dropped my party of at the entrance then went and parked. DECEMBER cruise and i was a ball of sweat by the time i got to the ship.

I'm going on my first cruise on P&O in December, in a Quad share room ( hubby, 18, 17 years old) I'm expecting it to be very tight. In February hubby and I are doing 7 days on the Luminosa :-) only thing missing for our family in the video were the gluten-free options ( myself and 18 year old are Ceoliac's hope to meet both of you some day. carry on the good work.
the restaurant staff dance is really cheesy, but that makes it fun. if you want to score browny points. grab some wooden maracas from Big W for $10 and bring on board as a gift for your waiter first night. THEY WILL LOVE IT
I will be on the Luminosa for a four night cruise in October next year and I have been on Adventure too and loved it which is the sister ship to Encounter
I have cruised on both ships. Encounter is more modern and brighter, Luminosa is in need of a makeover and the Budda in the Atrium is a total waste of space. I prefer the Lido on Luminosa compared to the Pantry but the other restaurants are pretty much the same. I havent tried Lukes Bar & Grill on Encounter but Farenheight 555 is absolutely superb and worth every penny. I am cruising on Encounter again in 9 days time.
After watching your video about the cloud 9 spa area - I think you've missed a big difference between the 2 ships. I have yet to sail on the Luminosa, but have just come back from my 3rd cruise on the Encounter and their Thermal suite is still not operational :( It was supposed to be up and running after the dry dock last Feb. Looking forward to booking the Luminosa for NYE :) Thanks so much for your videos!
Love this we just did the 3 day comedy on encounter it was ok. Can’t wait to do the Luminosa at Christmas feel it is much more inclusive with the food offerings!! P&O I felt you had to pay for so many extras.

Doing Liminosa in January with family and will have 3 kids sailing 2,4,and 10. Done Encounter 3 time this year,Our 2nd Carnival crusie since covid done spirit twice going on Splendor soon, So will be interesting what it's going to be like with kids and only having one pool for them!!
Having just arrived home following a 7 day cruise on Luminosa, I have to say how disappointed we were. The entertainment is not on the same level as Encounter, The food offerings in the Lido were aimed specifically to an American market, as were the food theme nights in the main dining area. The food was good but not up to Encounters standard or quantity. There was far too much emphasis on trying to sell you stuff, with well over half the daily experiences being to do with the shopping area. There were 23 of us in our party and we all found the chat App clunky and slow.
Love Encounter due to pools, not a fan of the extra cost for food on Encounter eggs benny, pizza,icecream, dinner menu only chaning every 3 nights. ect can't wait to try Liminosa next year only being on Spirit.
It changes every 3 nights because you’re supposed to be in one of the three different restaurants each night, so when you start your restaurant rotation again the menu is different.
Oh ya, we are doing a 14 night so will be interesting how this works.as someone said its only 2 menus so we will probably get one twice but can't complain at alll as not cooking , but one thing was not happy with changers for eggs benny we don't go out for breakfast at home so always loved to get the eggs benny on a crusie it was $9!
No air conditioning for 7 day cruise. No cold water. Only boiling hot water out of taps. No working fridge. Was told after day 3 days air conditioning could not be fixed. Air conditioning hit and miss throughout ship. This was a summer cruise. Covid rampant on the ship. They deny that Covid is on the ship. Tested positive and ended up in hospital.
@@samuelsofaBecause the two they are discussing are nothing but party ships, There is a third ship based over the summer from Brisbane which is the quantum of the seas which knocks both of these ships out of the ball park. If you don’t believe me just go to cruise critic for real reviews where these two rate pretty badly, Ironically the editor rates it 4.5 but passengers rate it 2.7
I did P&O earlier this year and I really enjoyed only cruise if been in before was royal Caribbean. Sure royal Caribbean food always better but I still enjoyed P&O
