We were on Iona in July. Rained every day in the Fjords and on day 4 my wife was taken ill so we had to isolate in our cabin till the end of the cruise. Back on it in March as we didn’t want that to be our last memory. Beautiful ship although that are areas that look like a shopping centre. Great vid guys..
Hi, I’ve been binge watching your videos about Iona and wondered what the problem is with deck 8 suites? You mentioned them being notorious! We are booked onto Iona in April and have been offered a free upgrade from our balcony cabin and I’m worried we might end up on deck 8! Thank you
The majority of balconies on deck 8 sit on the same level as the promenade so there is no clear view. If you don't mind people walking by your cabin then all good but if you don't i would go for something deck 9 or above. Thanks for watching :)
Thanks for watching! We didn’t get them because they were always really busy. Especially the one on Deck 18 by the forward lifts. The other, at the aft of deck 18, isn’t so much a smoking area as it is a floor standing ashtray on the port side of the ship. Our upcoming Britannia ship tour does include the smoking areas when we managed to catch them at a quieter time, and is more of a standard smoking area set up.
