Great tour, Tom! It looks like Britannia's kept her 'charm' after the refit - she's looking totally refreshed! There's some really lovely furniture additions throughout a lot of those public areas - looks like they've done a lovely job of this one!
Thanks for the tour, we cruised on Britannia in 2016 and had a fabulous time. We loved the ship, the crew, the food and entertainment. Special memories of the Limelight Club.
Very handy thanks - I'm back on Britannia on 10th May for the first time since 2016. Arvia & Iona have impressed me since then so it'll be interesting to see if Britannia feels as good as she used to.
I think I preferred Britannia to Iona and Arvia so I’d like to take the whole family on and see what they think. Thanks for watching and have a great cruise 🙂
Personally I think Britannia was and still is the nicest p&o ship and refit has helped it retain this. I like the size as it’s large enough for lots of choice of venues, but still does not feel overcrowded/too big. Unfortunately the included food is not up to par of other lines Ive been on and agree with others the buffet in particular is very poor.
Hi Jon, aplogies we missed your comment to reply. Yes I have to agree I really liked the ship, with few disappointing aspect like the buffet. Thanks for watching
It's nice to see P&O have invested some money back into the ship, however it's frustrating that certain areas wasn't ready like the Casino. Great video guys!
Extra cost, extra cost, extra cost……….. food looks pretty average and this refit was really only a standard one, where dents and other necessities were touched up.
2 pints from the man in the green hat for me please! Great tour, I do enjoy playing the game of what is the area on the Princess ships of the same class! 😂
@@ALifeintheParks haha nope I’ve never been on princess, to be fair Tom is the cruise buff I just go along for the ride 😂 if we find a bargain I’m sure we will go as a family.
Hi, we were on Britannia 22 Mar-05 Apr, repositioning cruise. There have been some changes, mostly new carpet, (nothing notable in The Retreat) but when you mentioned that The Sunset Bar was now 'Non Smoking', does that include the 'Smoking' area to the port side of the bar? If so thank goodness. It was horrible sitting in or gaining access to that bar area with the constant stink of fag smoke, which also permeated The Horizon restaurant because the deck access door was always left open, a big health and hygiene issue. Informative filming, well done.
Hi, thank- you for your kind words on the filming. Yes I can confirm that the only smoking area is down on deck 7. It makes sense that is a large area and seems pretty sealed off to not pass smoke to other areas. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
@@cruisingwiththe4bs Where on deck 7 is the smoking area. From your tour it looks like it's near Market Cafe? Is that correct? I am sailing on Friday and I vape, so would be good to now where to head once I'm on board.
@@CharisseGoddard hi thanks for watching. Outside Java on deck 7 mid was definitely one, entrance to it between Java and loyalty sales. Have a great cruise.
I was on the first cruise after the refit, no casino, no thermal spa, no doors to the pool deck on 16 made the whole ship freezing for the 5 days, most wines out of stock despite having paid for deluxe package, not a great start.
Will be in Britannia in July, but I really don't know what this ship has to offer over Arvia and Iona. I would say they are superior in every way, entertainment, eating, space. Britannia has no 710 club, no Quays or Diner, no walkabouts deck. Really struggling to see what people see in this ship
I've done britannia and iona, I'm back on britannia this month. I like both, britannia has less deck space but also less people, the atrium on iona is bland and feels like a shopping centre. Britannia has music by the pool and more sail away party's, at least when I was on it.
I’m on Britannia in July too. Not been on her before but looks nice. Went on Iona last June, and although the facilities were good it was all be bit beige and bland. Seemed like a floating mall. The lack of hot tubs is my main concern but booked the retreat as there are ALOT of sea days on my cruise!
@matthewdowning6009 Im on Britannia now, noone bothers with the retreat, it's normally empty. Also the free adult only pool area is usually very quiet. I've often seen the hot tubs empty. Not many people seem to use the pools, even on sea days. IONA is bland, but I miss the prom decks, and the lack of a middle stair case on britannia can cause problems at busy times.
Hi David, apologies if you didn’t enjoy the music, due to some shots being fastened up, slowed down, people chatting etc or copyrighted musics playing it’s easier to mute it all. We do have some promenade walks where we have natural sound.
Still got the same old fake bronze divers in the buffet...think they might have got rid of those as they were mainly damaged...a refit cannot cover up the cracks in the poor food quality and poor entertainment and the casino not being nearly big enough for a cruise ship of its size...id love to cruise P&O again but until im convinced the food and entertainment are up t the quality of other cruise lines then a refit just doesnt cut it
Out of curiosity who do you cruise with now? Would have to agree the quality in all those areas does lack compared to other lines. Thank you for watching 🙂
@@cruisingwiththe4bs When you take into account Ambassadors size of ship and in the market place they really punch above their weight...the evenings just flew by and so did the days...whether you wanted a bit of quiet elegance or a full on party there was something for everyone...food could have been a little better but was generally pretty good
