We have cruised with P and O many times, our last one being this month (July). On every cruise we were each allowed to take one litre of alcohol on embarkation plus mixers etc. Something to bear in mind if you like to have a drink in your cabin. Your cabin steward will be happy to provide you with ice too!
Great tips! First time cruiser going on this trip in June. I’m now going to take a highlighter to highlight the crap out of the newsletter before I take a photo 😁
@@ontroadagain I was about to tell you also that P&O allow you to take a litre of wine, beer or spirit on board 👍 This is very generous for a cruise ship and a great help! You'll save yourself a lot of money in pre dinner drinks 🍸 I agree about not always having to take the organised tours tho, they do seem very expensive!
The 1 litre rule is only on embarkation at Southampton. You can't take any more on board to drink from any of the other ports during the cruise apparently.
@Andrew I just wanted to add that you can take alcohol from other ports on board but you have to hand them over to P&O who store them for free. You'll be given them back once disembarking.
Just came off P&O cruise. Yes it is correct that each person can take 1litre of spirits. However on the onboard shop you can buy the spirit at a cheaper price than your local supermarket!!
I've just come off a week on the Iona. Within 24 hours of boarding, all shows, all speciality restaurants and all afternoon teas were fully booked. This is information for anyone planning a cruise on the ship. I have never experienced this before. I felt duped
It wasn't May half term by any chance was it? Our recant cruises were much busier than the cruise we went on in June last year but both in the school holidays.
Thank you again! Sorry to disturb you, but do you know there are any restrictions for flying with small drone. Or have you seen anyone to fly? (I mean on Norway)
Fully agree. Been to Norway many times. Norway is great in that the ship docks right at the placde where you can just walk off into a beautiful place. No need to book tours. Just got back from Iona Norway cruise. Only one to book was the trip to Mount Dalsniber. One to do but risky. We had fantastic weatgher with great views but you might get just 20 yard visibility with low cloud. Wish we had got to Flam instead of Hargesund; much nicer place.
I really enjoyed this 😊 My daughter and I were on Iona fjord cruise last week, it was a lovely experience, the crew were fantastic, and really well organised. I do wish we’d taken a whole suitcase full of soft drinks though, because anything other than water is a real price gouge. The choice of entertainment was both overwhelming and underwhelming, too much on offer, and nothing to my taste. I would really have liked to see options geared to the specific area we were visiting on offer…. And on the menus too, and for the love of god Costa get off the ship, or offer proper training, the coffee was the worst I’ve ever had.
Great video mate, very true to the listener, full of info. Legend. Myself and partner had anxiety regards excursions as we are not made of money and p&o were asking alot for excursions. We didn't want to be left on board or at the docks coffee shop for hours on end haha
You are allowed to bring on board a bottle of wine or spirit per person in a cabin. Or you can bring beer/cider you’d need to check t(e limits as I can’t remember off t top of my head. Some excursions sell out and you are best booking through P&O , eg Rib Boat Trips , but Olden Sky Lift, Troll Cars adm t( Glacier etc are half price when booked independently
