Nice job but please let your boys wear protective gears to protect them . Construction gloves to protect their hands and proper clothing for skin protection and boots . Well done
Amazing dude, I started watching your project from the beginning. I stopped for a while and just chanced upon this today. Congratulations on your progress so far. You’re building an awesome structure at a great pace. I’ll find time and go watch your journey and the cost breakdown. Thanks for sharing your journey and keep up the dream.💪🏽🙏🏽
The height of the ceiling is very crucial, i saw a room like that, he laid the blocks high but after the POP, it looks like, a tall perosn may get hit by a ceiling fan because of how low the ceiling is now
It isn't compulsory if you are clear on the design you want like in our case. The electrician will have all necessary wiring done before the P.O.P guys come in. If you go experimental with your design, then you will need the electrician to work with the P.O.P guys
Yes, I buy all materials and then pay their workmanship. As captured at the early part of the video, all the cost and quantities mentioned are for a unit
No, Plaster boards are more expensive but are stronger. There’s also an additional cost from the frame that holds the plaster boards. However, the main advantage of the P.O.P over plaster boards is not from the cost, but the flexibility with design.
There are Indians living in Nigeria and whatever their country trends, they market it in Nigeria so they can be the seller and profit. Majority of Nigeria’s home interior design is from India and it’s the Indians that profit everything from selling the P.O.P. to selling the ugly gaudy gold trimmed furniture 🤮 If you look at the packs of the P.O.P. cement bags you’ll see it comes from India. Yet people only want to beef with Chinese.
please would you recommend how many 40 kilos bag of POP cement I will use for my living room of dimensions 17 ft by 11.5 feet which is 195.5 square feet Your favourable response will be kindly appreciated
The design you choose will determine the quantity of cement. However, a general guide is to estimate four of the P.O.P boards per 40kg of cement. The dimensions of the board is approximately 2 by 6 feet.
Please would you recommend buying ones own scaffolds for 6 unit apartments, 2 bedrooms each project? If it's a good idea how many do you think I should purchase. Thank you in advance.
No need to buy a scaffold if it’s just a single storey cos a ladder will work out for fine for maintenance purposes. If two storeys or more, then you can buy just a few for keeps, five to six rooms should be fine. Each room is about 7-8 feet high. You can check EP 19 for more info on scaffolding
I am not a P.O.P guy, but general reason for such a problem could be ur building settling. It could also be the P.O.P joints were not well done if the cracks are formed along the seams. I would have them fill the lines with the skimming as shown in the video

They just heaped some soil and poured the P.O.P paste on. They then used a template cut from a sheet of metal to make the design by passing it on the p.o.p paste. The template can be cut from plywood or plastic as well
We had four ~2x6 boards per bag of P.O.P cement. The Total cost however is dependent on the size of the room, design and the cost of the materials in your area.
Three bedrooms. You can check Episodes one and two for dimensions. I don’t have the total cost off head but the cost and quantities are captured in the vid to help you do the math
If you do not have a concrete ceiling but wood trusses, can you still do just the corners like your and leave the space on the middle to prevent loosing the height of the block’s laid?
Oops, unfortunately we don’t refer artisans Edit: Putting in this edit to bring everyone's mind to rest. We don't refer artisans 'cos of past experiences with such referrals. This decision doesn't deny artisans of a job opportunity cos other artisans who have not had any encounter with me are available to get more jobs/willing help from you. The Channel is purely to educate our audience so they can make informed decisions. We are not contractors, I do this just as a hobby to help others.
@@Lerwincel Then what’s the purpose of posting the cost and project information, why not help the Ghanaian workers and contractors get more jobs…..Smh 🤦🏽♀️ only in Ghana ooooo
@@Lerwincel if you can use them in your project and you are satisfied with their work; why not let people patronise them….? You shouldn’t post a videos if you can’t promote their work…
@@TT-vi3mr there’s a difference between contact us for referral and UNFORTUNATELY WE DON’T REFER ARTISANS. Getting his ✂️ shouldn’t really be a problem if he arranges with the Artisans .. This is why I love Nigeria … they willingly help themselves in stuffs like this… cuts or no cuts…
I am not sure which safety gear you are looking out for. Safety gear type is chosen based on potential hazard. The hazard for the job they are doing is injury to the eye resulting from falling particles hence, the use of glasses/goggles when it was required
@@sirevans5310 Durability can be in several context. But in terms of strength, plaster board is stronger than P.O.P of the same dimension cos, plaster boards have a stronger reinforcement than the fiber used in P.O.P
Please what do you mean by a unit in the video? Do you mean a room or flat apartment that consist of several rooms? I am trying to have a fair idea of the total cost of the whole building please.
>> 5W Recessed light = US$5/piece >> Led strip (10 meters with WiFi control) = US$50 >> For the P.O.P cement, fiber and paint, I don't know the current prices so you will need check that yourself.
