Ok as usual I’ve learned something from Chuck again. It’s nice having Hop and Brass ask questions and give their perspective. It shows that they’ve tested out the things they’re discussing. They add great civilian context and questions.
This is NOT taking away from Chuck's good explanation with lasers. The IEC regulates the lasers. FDA was just a verbal typo. The array explanation was good. Thanks.
I mean the guys who are fighting near peers instead of heathans from mud huts have said the IR lights/lasers can be just as dangerous as white light and enough guys with whove fought in both the GWOT and Ukraine have brought it up. They arent worried about small arms fire, they are worried about BMTs and such with modern IR targeting capabilities. Does this mean passive is dead? Absolutely not but it should be a wake up call for IR light/laser discipline and awareness
First, I don't think all the bells, whistles and gadgets are all that helpful in the most common self defense situations. Many of them are extremely helpful to law enforcement. I'm a huge proponent of optics for cops. Wish I had them back when I was doing felony car stops. The up close and personal times firearms were presented would not have allowed me the time to put any gadget into play.@@jonengelbird7051
