Thank you for this video. Although, it wasn't my issue, it was one more thing I could check when trying to resolve. 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.7: I had engine light flashing and then staying on. Only code was P0300. I replaced all the spark plugs and ignition coils. Cleared the code and the flashing engine light came back on the next day and again only code was P0300. I obtained a "FOXWELL FW601 Elm327 Obd2 Scanner WiFi Code Reader Car Diagnostic Tool" and downloaded several OBD apps for my iPad until I found one that would allow me to load the Cylinder Misfire Cyl 1 through Cyl6 so I could see what Cylinders were misfiring. The IOS App was OBD JScan free version. This revealed that Cylinders 2, 4, and 6 had around 50-60 counts of misfiring. Since all three cylinders were are on Bank 2, I decided to replace Oxygen Sensors for Bank 2. I first replaced the upstream O2 sensor for Bank 2 and thank God, its been running fine now for three days. I never replace the downstream O2 sensor since the upstream fixed my issue.
Will try this as mine is suffering the same issue,want to try to fix myself before taking it to the shop have a random misfire and cylinder 6 wich then turn into a yellow flashing engine light
2011 Jeep Liberty Sport 4WD. Engine wouldn’t turn over. DTC P0300, P302. Thank you. Checked compression on each cylinder. Compression good. Checked for vacuum leaks. No leaks. Switched coil packs. All were good. Even put in all new spark plugs. Plugs good. Solution ASD relay. Again, thank you for posting this video.

Well low and behold it was my issue. There was no telltale signs of excessive heat on the relay like one in this video. My p300 code came out of nowhere, I never suspected plugs or coils because it's rare to have more then 2 coils go bad at the same time also with the plugs. You shaved me so much time scratching scratching my head and wondering wtf? (which I was). Your time is much appreciated, thank you for the video.
You sir are a hero. This fix worked perfectly. Thank you. Luckily this only went bad after 17 years :) I also had a bad after market coil that needed to be replaced too but without your advice and fix I wouldn't have known that too.
Yo😆 Thom, I pulled my ASD as you said , wah LaH 😂 one of those connectors are rusted😂 bought it and replaced and erased the code. Boommm 💣🧨 GONE 😊 Thank you, my friend 😊 Check engine gone for good 👍 ❤
Hi I have a 2007 Liberty 3.7L V6, 117,000 miles. Owned it since 67,000 miles. It operated perfectly for the first 30,000 miles and then it started getting a #1 Cyl misfire code P0301. It also seldomly gets a #1 cyl fuel injector circuit open P0201. It must be a very mild fault as the misfire freeze frame data shows it always happens at less than 350 rpm and when cleared it comes back immediately at next startup, cold or hot. So it seems to only happen once on startup as its moving up to regular idle speed. The miss isnt noticeable when driving or idling. Its getting 15.5 mpg fuel mileage. Doesnt burn oil. Doesnt smoke. Has great power. I've changed plugs and coils but no difference. Cleaned air intake, air filter, and ran cleaner through system. I've cleaned and inspected the injector plug and all wires but no difference. Dry / wet compression test of #1, 3 and 5 cylinders all read good: 160 / 175 psi. I'm wondering if there's a mild wire defect for that injector, or just a flakey connection somewhere. Has anyone tried to use a new set of compatible gauge wires and run them to a place closer to the injector control? I can't see where the wires go though. I'm not sure if I should just live with this, or troubleshoot it more. I don’t care about the engine light as we don't have emission requirements. Now that I know the compression is good, I'm not so worried about it. Any suggestions of what to do next? Thanks!
Did you solve your misfire issue? I have random misfire code P0300 at 147 RPM. It runs smooth after it warms up. It pops up once a week. Then goes away for a week. Did you check the ASD relay?
Well i guess that's something but that's the auto shut down relay it's when it doesn't see a signal from like the cam sensor or from the coils yeah but when it doesn't see it at all or intermittently it wouldn't start at all if memory serves
09 jeep liberty p0300 no start got spark come on one time with foot on gas once foot came off gas shut off It had codes for throttle and iat sensor replaced it all think it may be a fuel pump what y'all think
I have a slight rough idle in drive with brakes pushed and with no code. Could it be plugs, or this relay..? I should add, in drive while at a stop light, it vibrates slightly, i let off the brake a touch and it smoothes out. Thanks for your video.
I think i have this same issue. My scanner tool says random misfire at 147 RPM which makes no sense. Im gonna check my relay out. My Jeep runs peefect though so im sure it is this relay, my sparkplugs are only 2.5 years old. I popped the hood checked my Fuse box pulled the ASD relay and its a 4 prong not a 5 prong. The center is missing. Its a canadian 2005 Jeep Liberty sport. Why is mine different?
Thank you, dear, I have a question. I have the same problem. The code No. 6 will appear in Idol mode or stop, and it will disappear when you walk or press the fire pedal, but it does not have this Vius 2007.
