After watching your video, I replaced the thrust bearing kit in my 2002 Accent and it works like a charm. No more P0734 trouble code. Thanks! Next is to fix the gas tank vent blower and solenoid. Probably clogged with charcoal from the canister.

A common secondary problem is that shift control solenoid A fails (often thanks to metal particles clogging it up). SCA is active in both 1st and 4th. But the TCM doesn't check if the transmission doesn't go into 1st when commanded because it would usually do this at or near a dead stop, at which point there's not enought output shaft rotation to compare against the input shaft. So if you do this repair, and the transmission works fine when cold, but then throws a code when warmed up (coupled with 2nd gear starts), then a set of solenoids is in your future. And if you're clever, you can score them for $100.

Great Video, I have a 2003 1.6lt Accent. with P0732, P0733, P0734 all gear ratio DTCs, could this needle bearing failure also cause the other gear ratio DTCs ?

I'm getting a P0732 and P1529 code for my '03 Sante Fe. Aamco says I need a whole new transmission for $2500. Is that repairable without the whole new tranny? I have no shavings in my fluid.

Ordering the kit off of eBay will save you the massive shipping fee. The "wittrans.com" web site has the price of the kit...it has increased to $29.16...and the shipping is $28.71 for the lowest priced ground shipment (no kidding!). It's 32.00 on eBay, including shipping.

I did this exact thing to my 2004 Hyundai accent only I replaced the spline too. One thing I noticed was my washer supplied was a lot thinner. Where did you buy your kit? I got mine from Whateverittakes transmission supply. Anyway after putting it all back together the transmission sounded like a meat grinder. So now I've pulled it for a complete rebuild.

Cosmo I need to know how much transmission fluid u added back into the vehicle? And whether it was new fluid? Did u do a flush? Also this might sound like a stupid question but did u drain both the oil and transmission fluid? I’m not too experienced at fixing automobiles but after watching your video I believe that I can do it. I’ve ordered all the parts and gonna attempt to fix the po734 code myself by following your video. I have a 2008 accent and having difficulties shifting into 4th gear. Hello, I have a BMW E39 540I ZF5HP24, a problem with the automatic transmission. On the first start, the car is in a normal temperature, it works fine, and after a distance, the transmission heats up and shows these codes P0733 / P0732. The transmission does not perform the gears and gets stuck in the fifth gear only when the car warms up and when it is cold does it work well? of help please

Hello i have a problem with my 07 Hyundai accent Hatchback se 1.6 ok when im on the freeway going about 60 it goes but as i get off the freeway and im at a light my car feels like its not giving enough speed and then gives speed . MY rpm start jumping to 1 2 3 stay on 3. speed goes to about 40 , check engine light come on and car runs slowly.. also when i get gas at the gas station i try to start my car it turns over but dont start until i push on the gas what does that mean ???? I have a Kia Rio 06. i just got this code on my car. sometimes its shift good without any problem and sometimes it gets stuck in 3rd. could this be the solution for my problem or i have to buy a different part since its a Kia??. thanks before hand. love your video super informative.

Brother i have a 2014 kia sportage so about 2 months ago the car jumped out of a big curb and the transmission pan cracked and let all the fluid out so i took it to a mechanic they replaced the pan and add new fluid but when they were done the gear couldnt shift it to 4th ( auto transmission ) so we scanned it and it shows P0734 so i went to multiple mechanics including the one that replaced the oil pan and they all said to replace the whole transmission but as i hit the curb so hard i doubt about the valve body and its solenoids but since then i drive it with manual shifting till 3rd gear about 50 km/h and its all normal even the Reverse works perfectly fine so brother what do you suggest me and thank you for your great video

hello cosmo thanks for the reply I subscribed //not nickpicking..im just fussy when I do things that's all ..I own a 2000 Hyundai accent I bought new ,,I love this little car its got 156.000 miles on it always garaged and never drove it in winter I put aftermarket 15 inch asa rims years ago looks better than the cheesy 13in rims and aftermarket stereo alpine system,,,its been a great car well maintained but im sure ill have this trans problem sometime so thanks for your video again //you know most peopledo not take care of these cars and consider them throwaways ...with normal driving and some t.lc. I proved them all wrong ,,its parked in the garage along side my mint condtion summer car 1984 mercury grand marquis coupe and 1968 Shelby and 1968 California special mustang ...keep up the great work in your videos I enjoyed viewing it couldn't leave the room !!

When I dropped my transmission pan there wasn’t any big pieces like shown in your video. There were a lot of tiny shavings on the magnets tho. Could the bearing still be the problem or is it something else ?

I have this code on an 07 Sonota with a 5 speed automatic that is slipping or has an occasional flare and shifting late. The fluid is good. I have not dropped the pan yet but im wondering if the 3.3 or V6 (what I have) transmission has this same bearing issue as all the videos im seeing pertaining to this problem appear to be with 4 cyl. motors.? Any idea? Thanks.
